I use and like the free AVG.  But I recommend not installing any of the extra "features".  They are on a trial basis so after a while you get a bunch of annoying popups asking you to buy stuff.

I am planning to try AVG but I don't like any annoying popups too. I think I'll just try it without any extra features.

Why don't you try Avast which doesn't give annoying popups once you go back to normal after the premium features get expired?

Which antivirus should i buy guys? The safest and the most protective of all. Must include all things Internet security Anti Malware etc.

There aren't so many virus for linux and maybe they can't do too much if they don't have root access, but just using linux isn't enough to protect you.

-1 for Avast.

Their new grimefighter is crap. But worst of all they now have a pop-up that appears in the browser showing you "deals" on the internet. It can't be uninstalled or shut off for more than 24 hours.  Exactly the kind of thing I pay to keep off my machine.

I totally love MBAM even tho its annoying as fuck sometimes with too many notifications of wrong IPs.
