Buy coins in the top 10 in coinmarketcap, choose coins that are cheap, for example EOS or XLM and others. of course bitcoin must also be bought if you have a lot of capital.

There are many cryptocurrencies for long-term investment. But I would say Litecoin is the best cryptocurrency for long-term investment. This is absolutely my personal opinion. Because I've seen many people choose Litecoin for their long-term investment. I also made long-term investments in Litecoin and I have benefited. How recently Litecoin's value is increasing so investment in Litecoin will surely be benefited. You can safely invest in Litecoin for a long term and I am sure you will earn a lot of profits.

I suggest you can buy doge coins, xlm and ethereum. For this year the price may not be too expensive, but in the future it will become a potential coin.

Because, stable coins are always the same and prices remain stable most of the time.What are those stable coins my friend, i think stable coins will never give any profit to the investors, So it is always good to invest in potential coins which have active developments from their team. Look at CMC, which coin has active developments will always have the huge chance to increase their price.
When you wish to sell some coin for profit but you plan to get in same coin when price drops you use stable coins, fees are not so high, every cent you save on fees is your profit too. You also short in combination with stable coins.
As investment I still see bitcoin and ethereum as safest long term investments, there are other good investments in low cost coins that can be very profitable in long term, but risk is much higher. Who doesn't know what to do should invest in couple of them, make a list of 10 coins you like, find pros and cons for each and short that list on couple good coins by your opinion and invest in them, don't listen others.

As always I will suggest you to invest in stable cryptos and as you also said that you want to invest for long term then it will yield less but steady profit to you.
You can invest in ETH as this is one of the stable coins. It has very less chance of going down so you will not yield too much loss.

I recommend for you to stick on bitcoin and other coins in the marketcap that has huge volume so in short, those that are in the top 2 - 50. Particularly, the altcoins that are in the bloackchain caegory like EOS, neo , cardano or digital payments like digibyte.

each coin does have different potential. however, in terms of development problems, I think bitcoin and eth are the best. besides, the 10 best coins in cmc can be role models depending on the development they will do in the future.
