So much bullshit written in this thread and was written in last 6 years on this forum, when math was clear what can be a privacy coin and what will be totally same private as Bitcoin.  It is funny to see in report saying that some wallets can make Bitcoin and Litecoin more private then "so called privacy coins".

People here will lie to you to sell you their bags. Instamined bags or just bought cheap bags.

For those who want to discover the Veil project. Here is an interview that you can find on my blog. It is an anonymous crypto which will implement a new protocol called Sonic Zk-Starks. An evolution of the Zcash protocol without trust setup.

it turns out we do not have the equation in the selection of coins for long-term investment facilities. because my choice for the long term remains on bitcoin and ethereum. and for investment in the short term, I am more interested in coins that have good concepts and programs, such as ARCC and others

Xspec is definitely one of the top ones. The developers are working very hard and constantly trying to add something to the coin, which is what I really like because the more you want to work on something that means the more you trust your project and this team has been around for a long time and they are still working on it which means that team really loves their project.

Definitely, there are other ones like Monero for example but that doesn't mean that we can't like more than one, or we can't really just pick one that high, we could definitely pick something that is lower on the list. XSPEC crosses all my checks and I have been on their discord as well and they just got added to a new place as well, so the work is still going on, and that is really gives me hope.

Xspec: Still old shitty projects with old technology and a team that has no expertise in privacy technology ... Stop advertising for projects that are already dead!

The best privacy coin I think is still Monero, Monero is still in the top 20 Coinmarketcap and has a high trading volume in exchange,
XMR I believe it is still seen by investors as a good coin to trade even for invested

I think the best private coin should be Tomochain, which is building TomoP (privacy protocol)

For me that's definitely Monero! I hold some coins and from time to time I add more, when it's possible.
I hold some other privacy coins like ZCash, Verge, Veil, but my favorite is Monero!
I think that time of privacy coins is yet to come. We still learn about them, and many more people will
learn about them to in future, because if you wish to have some privacy you will use some of these coins
and we all care about privacy!

So many pointless privacy coins. There just isn't the need for more than 1 or 2.

I totally disagree with you. I believe there is little use case for transparent ledger cryptocurrencies and only few should exist. All the rest should be opaque ledger crypto currencies that would act like existing banking system.  Only sender and receiver knows about transaction.  I have no ideas what you did with your bank account today. What you bought how many money you have there. Once I know your Bitcoin wallet address I would know number of Bitcoins you have and who you traded with.    There is a use case for that but not a huge one.

But why do you need more than say Monero and Pivx? There are about 500 privacy coins all doing the same thing, they just aren't needed.

I guess they try different ways how to increase anonymity and everything else that money needs. At this point all of them are test coins.  My point was that we need much less transparent ledger coins then opaque ledger coins. But on the other hand transparent ledger coins are test beds for opaque ledger coins. So i is also fine they are many. Smiley

I agree that the privacy coin is very important in the crypto world. Because privacy coin guarantees the transactions we do completely
anonymous. And of the many privacy coins in circulation, the best in my opinion monero. Because in my opinion monero besides can be
for transactions, monero is also very good for investment or trading. I have been trading monero for 4 years, mostly my trading results
managed to get a large profit.
Some people dont understand that privacy coin are very important in these age of technology where almost all parties that are expected to keep your private information save are selling it to enrich their pocket.
With thaf been said, I'm also Monero enthusiast.

I think privacy coins are very important in crypto, and hold the true nature and intention of this space. I believe that 2018 will be a big year for privacy based projects.

If you had $10k to invest, where would you spread it in privacy coins and why? Which ones do you think will truly succeed and stand the test of time?

Some options to work with:

Monero
Zcash
ZenCash
Verge
Cloak

My vote goes to Monero, but I'm really liking ZenCash.

ZenCash has a low supply and was recently hyped up on the Palm Beach Confidential newsletter and is a full blown privacy platform. Monero seems to me like a very strong currency with excellent standards for privacy, and a relatively low supply. I can see both of these coins in the $1000+ price.

I have always known and learnt from my few researches about privacy coins that transactions made on the blockchain is shielded from another person. This implies that Senders  or receivers transact anonymously with each on the blockchain. I hope I am right with my findings.

You come out of old messages, which no longer make sense. If you want to see confidentiality and anonymity, transfer of Piratechain. This is 100% confidentiality. It is an experience to live!

you have got the point mate, i guess 1 or 2 privacy coin is enough and remember the common platform like smartcontract platform can implement the side chain solution or create a new privacy protocol to be used in the same chain too.
In my knowledge if almost all of privacy coins were developing the similar protocol with the different name.
They were only aiming for the hype.

Any of you guys heard of NIX and their Ghost protocol? I recently read about it when McAfee tried to introduce his own privacy coin and these NIX guys commented on his Tweet saying he stole their idea,,, seemed like a pretty active community.

That's BS from mcafee, he was abandoning his crap dex platform.
