While there's no limit in betting sports even if you know nothing about that certain sport, but it gives you more advantages if you decide to bet only on sports that you are highly knowledgeable of. Aside that it will reduce emotional bias since you are betting not based on your emotions, it will also give you informed decisions so you can understand better by knowing the personal background of the game, the players performance and its historical trends and patterns. With that, you are increasing your chances of winning with your smart decision making and profitable decisions.
Exactly, sport betting is vast and wide, however I limit myself to Soccer betting that is my choice and preference, basically I am conversant with the sport being an ex footballer I have enough knowledge on that sport, I also follow and knew much about major European leagues such as Ligue -1, Laliga, premier league and Bundesliga thus I knew all the strong teams and weak teams across those leagues with gives more advantage of picking my bets after some through analysis, however I never bother placing bets on other sports like Basketball, Tennis, Horse racing even after getting signal from sport betting channels l sticked to soccer betting.

What some people that are betting do is to make use of analyses like the matches the two clubs played previously with other clubs not long ago, the players they are using and also if the club use to score very well. Their head to hea is also important to some people. They do not have to know a particular league very well before they start betting. While betting it is good to have it in our mind that we can probably lose than win. Gambling sites are for profit to those that have it the gambling site.
Sports betting is one of the easiest bettings and as long as you have the right information about the clubs and their opponents you are good to go because from afar one can point to a stronger team just by checking previous game's a d players' performance and how many of the available players can deliver on the lineups.

Having to be an addicted follower of a particular sport before betting on them is not necessary at this age and time, this flexibility is the reason why sports bets especially football bets have become the most popular form of betting lately.

Gambling, while largely a game of luck, shouldn't be approached blindly. As a responsible gambler it's essential to conduct a thorough research before placing a bet. Specializing in a specific sport where you have in depth knowledge is also a wise strategy. This approach helps minimize losses, as relying solely on luck can lead to disappointment.

Perhaps the most important characteristic a bettor or a gambler could have is to always be ready to suffer a disappoinment and still move on from it and continue to enjoy gambling or betting. No strings attached to his wager, which was lost.
Because, let us face it, in reality it is almost impossible we will ever find a gambler/bettor who has never tasted the bitter flavor of disappointment and regret during his experience with sport betting, even those who know what they are doing and have years of experienc can be victims of their own back luck.

The feeling of losing money on a bet which was supposed to be a no brainer is devastating ...

Some people love and knows everything about soccer why some people love and knows everything about basketball, so also table tennis, volleyball, baseball, horse racing, handball, snooker, boxing, cricket, golf etc. Any sport you know very well, you can  gamble on those sport and avoid gambling on sports you know nothing about
This is similar to the response I gave few minutes ago. Sports we know much about should be giving much attention to if we want to bet on. But TBH there are persons whose favorite sports is basketball but they are very good in other sports betting. You may be wondering if it is really possible, of course it is. I know a friend who is very good at dog racing bets but his favorite sports is football. He don't often watch dog race he just know a few rules and things about it and he is good in betting on it.

What you say its right but i want to let you know that you don't have to know a sports too well before you can bet and win in it. Sometimes you can get lucky on your first trial on any sports games.

This is pretty much basic. In the first place, how could you even choose which to bet if you don't know the sport, the league, the teams, or the players? You're like betting on dice if you do that.

Dice have only two ways to end and always the same odds, matches don't. Smiley

Actually, even if you're familiar with the sport and you're also following the league, it might not be true that "prediction will be easy for you" or that you'd make easy profit. Games are played. Opposing teams or players both have chances to win.

You don't have to bet which team will win the game. There are many options to bet (and win) without "knowing" or analyzing like crazy. And for me, this can make a sportsbook great. Options, options, and options.

And then if you take into consideration the odds, it would become even more complicated. You'd realize that those that are almost sure-wins aren't worth betting at all, so you often end up betting on more or less even matches. Those are hard to predict.

Odds always will play the biggest factor for bets. Because even if you "study" everything and feel 100% sure, the odds can change your mind and derail you from the bet that you wanted to make at the start. So instead of putting the bet that you were sure, you start questioning yourself and then yes, things are going very complicated. But in fact, isn't.
IMO, if you know the basics and check the odds, you can play all the team games.

Is true that knowing everything about a particular sport those not grantee you winning always but is an added advantage when you are gambling because it brings you more wins.
More precisely, knowing what we are betting on can bring us closer to luck to win the bet. Compared to betting on sports that we do not know for sure, luck will only come a few times and the percentage of winning is very small.
I admit what you said is very true and only impulsive gamblers think that all types of gambling depend purely on luck. While they do not understand how sports betting works that can be predicted to bring luck closer.
From several cases that I have experienced, I have felt the experience and until now I only continue to bet on several sports that I know and are easy for me to analyze.

Many gamblers struggle due to their over reliance on luck, neglecting the importance of informed decision-making. By doing your due diligence and making data driven choices, you can reduce your reliance on chance and make more informed wagers.

In my opinion, it would be a stupid thing to bet on football and not understand anything about this sport. If you bet on a sport that you know something about, it's a kind of risk management that allows you to reduce losses.
People who bet blindly will bet on any sport but it is obviously stupid to bet on an unfamiliar sport, so they seem to increase their own risk but think about knowledge and analysis.

For me, betting on sports that we are familiar with especially in the favorite with having skills then it increases the chances of winning, it's just that people are too ambitious to win more then the bet to parlay try with bigger odds.

I don't know much about basketball games but when I bet on them, it favours me than soccer, I don't even know the option so long the odds are pretty much moderate to pick, it plays out good at last and I can say my luck shines out here.

If you are considering betting on roulette, jackpot, plinko, aviator, e.t.c, these games are actually a game of luck where you do not need knowledge and analysis to scale through but problem with it is that you can keep on loosing until you empty your bankroll.

Majority of our gambling wins are by luck and not skill or being knowledgeable about the sport. Gambling is beyond what you know.
Gambling is beyond what you know, True.

However even the luck that we talk about in gambling is in degrees. If you are betting on sports that you know well, you are likely to be luckier than the person who bets on sports that they don't know about too well. And you are even luckiest than the person you didn't use to bet on sports and wants to just do guessing.  Knowledge and skill where applicable increases your gambling luck.

Being know well for the particular sports will not guarantee you 100% can win the bet but at least it is can increase the winning chances and those who involved on sport betting already know about this that those who football fans will not dare to placing their bets on Volley matches or Basketball matches this because usually those people are blind about other sports than football and only betting to sports they know

Sport betting actually is not hard to learned especially for football this because this sport is the most popular sport in the world and most people always be talking about this for everyday and if want to earn profit from this sport what people generally do is bet on the strong team for every matches

Majority of our gambling wins are by luck and not skill or being knowledgeable about the sport. Imagine, some matches that you think the strongest team would win, but it turns out the opposite. Look at Liverpool vs United match two days ago, and Inter vs Milan finals yesterday. It cut a lot of people slip, because we all know the strongest clubs in these matches and we bet on yhem. Gambling is beyond what you know.

In sports betting there are upsets like team with high odds win the game but it's once in a while. I have interest in cricket and in cricket there are cases where underdog wins the contest and if you have placed bet in that game on team with low odds then it's your bad luck. But I do agree with OP stance that one must jump into sports in which one has interest and he fully understand that game. I don't have much interest in sports like boxing, it's better for me to refrain from batting in that sport.

Obviously, you need to bet on games whose rules you are aware of. If you don’t know how a particular game is played, then how will you know who is winning at that point in time? Or are you someone who just bets according to the odds? This is the worst way to lose money. Now I am someone who doesn’t know how baseball games work; hence, I always avoid baseball games. It’s your hard-earned money, so be careful while placing the bets.

Even if gambling can't be predicted it doesn't give gamblers the access to play games they have no idea or knowledge of. The knowledge and idea we have on a particular game to gamble is what even makes gamble to be a game of fun, I don't know how people will manage to enjoy gambling and have fun when they play a game they have no knowledge about.

Gambling is more interesting when gamblers choose to play games they know better and this increases the chances of winning.  Playing games that are well known is not a guarantee to win but atleast one already knows what they are doing.

You’re absolutely right that focusing on sports you know well gives you a much better chance of making informed bets. When you understand the rules, strategies, player performance, or team composition, you will be able to make predictions based on real data rather than pure feeling or hunch. Betting purely on luck, especially for sports you know nothing about, is plain stupid and will almost always result in a loss. While no amount of knowledge guarantees consistent wins, it definitely increases your odds and helps you make smarter decisions in the long run.

Well, not totally it will be to our advantage, but taking into account that we are gambling in sports, then I believe it is necessary to know it very well. Otherwise, we are gambling blindly and putting our bets on potential losses. I don't think we want that situation; instead, we look for ways to improve it. That is why we don't just simply gamble and choose our preferred sport but rather know more about the game and the players.

Gamblers not only know how to bet but also need to know how to analyze the game. If the situation never gives us favor and luck, at least we never regret it because we love the sport we bet on.

Is there any one who gambles on what they don't know at all?
It would be gamblers who only rely on so called professional bettors or signal groups.

I feel like it's really stupid to believe in them, the bettors should understand the sports and the teams because it will help you to use your logic to judge the match instead of completely relying on someone else prediction.

Example someone predict Southampton will beat Liverpool in this season, it's impossible for me.
Relying on other people's forecasts cannot be a long-term perspective for a player, because even if you fantasize that these forecasts give at least a minimal profit, then at one point these signals can stop or require a large fee for this. And even this is not very important for me, so I came to the conclusion that it is best to study independently so as not to depend on anything. Of course, this is a much more difficult path, but in the future we will be able to be grateful to ourselves for this and glad that we did it.

While it's good to bet on the sport game you know more, there is no harm in trying other games. Soccer games might be your regular, but if you have any form of interest in basketball or volleyball, you can go ahead and watch it. You research to just know how the teams performance, which team has stronger capacity, and go on and try. It's only by trying to bet on different game that you get knowledge from it and build experience, and you'll be able to tell, if betting on this other sport game is favorable or if it's more difficult or not.

So I feel we can be flexible with our bets, we can be flexible with gambling, it doesn't have to be only what you know. You might equally be profitable from trying out new game or end up liking it. You might even enjoy watching it more than your current favorite sport game.
