I love boxing and its the sports where I like to analyze and explore I love to bet against my friends because we can explore and debate about skills and power of the boxers we are betting on.
Its not only about the money; its more about proving your analysis is better than your friends, and there's satisfaction doing this. I also have passion for posting my analysis here in Bitcointalk.

Some people love and knows everything about soccer why some people love and knows everything about basketball, so also table tennis, volleyball, baseball, horse racing, handball, snooker, boxing, cricket, golf etc. Any sport you know very well, you can  gamble on those sport and avoid gambling on sports you know nothing about, one of the reasons why some set of people lose money a lot when it comes to gambling is because they gamble on sports they know nothing about with the slogan " gambling is all about luck" yes gambling involves luck but that those not mean skill and knowledge is not involve, if you gamble on sports you know nothing about then you are gambling blinding and your chance of winning are very small compared to when you know everything about that particular sport, when you know a lot about a particular sport prediction will be easy for you.
Is true that knowing everything about a particular sport those not grantee you winning always but is an added advantage when you are gambling because it brings you more wins.

If someone is gambling only because he wants to make money, then such a person should really only bet on matches that he knows well. But there is a nuance. If such a guy loses a couple of big bets, then he can lose self-control, and the thing is that, according to psychology, he will want to win back this money as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, everyone wants to return to a state of calm and a stable psychological state. And usually this is how people make more mistaken bets. Therefore, I would advise everyone not to try to win back immediately after failures.

Doing things without a concrete plans then it surely leads you to aggressions after losing a couple of huge bets, like you mentioned, if they are aiming to win money and instead of winning they suffer from a unexpected loses, those kinds of emotions will push them to keep on betting wildly, leading them to a more losing streaks that take place.

It's best to have a good strategy and keep it whatever happens just stay and focus with how you think will help you to reach or achive your goals.

Yes, it is better to bet on sports that we know because we know what team that we can choose. That will helps us to reduce the chance to lose our money. But many people still thinks that they can do blind bet in the sports they don't know so they want to risks their money. But sometimes we can bet on sports that we don't know just to see our luck and we are nothing to lose to do that even if we finally lose our money.

But if we have knowledge about the sports, we can pick the right team although that will not guarantee us to win. We should realize that we need luck to win even in the bet that we know that sports.

Or if we want to master another kind of sport for betting, we will have to first bet on something we are not very good at. But in betting you do not need to spread yourself too thin, concentration on a certain kind of sport matters. And losses will happen anyway, it is an integral part of the gambling process, no matter how well you understand this kind of sport, because sometimes sensations happen.

Is there any one who gambles on what they don't know at all? I don't really think so because they wouldn't know how to do that and even if they must gamble it should be that they have someone whom they will confide on to know how those games works and function because most times it's crazy to do what we don't know or have the ideas of how it works.
Yes is important to remain the lane which you always find winning at than doing what you don't know and regret later, even though it is good to try out something different it should be that there is a guider who has knows how such particular game functions and operated, especially when it comes of odds and how they manages their options to pick before staking their bets.

I think this is rhetoric question which has straightforward answer - knowing many details of particular sport give you advantage at the betting. Nevertheless some times I bet on the outcomes of sport evens that are almost unfamiliar to me. At such occasions I used to follow  those prices that were set by bookies.  I have to admit that  after bookies set their prices  their favorites  become the public knowledge of what betting market is going to support.

However, there's one advantage if you bet on an non-familiar sport, you will be force to learn that kind of sport so you won't be at loss anymore the next time you decide to bet on it.
How is this an advantage? Someone could argue that they could just not bet on a non-familiar sport and therefore avoiding that loss.
That's the advantage, you get to learn that sport forcefully because you bet on it without any idea of how it goes. But you're right, if someone doesn't have an idea on how that sport goes, it's best not to lose money and be ignorant of it. Anyway, we're all different and whatever will work for us, we should do it. If we think that it's an advantage to learn something new with these sports that we want to bet then learn it first without having the need to bet on it from the beginning.

I can both agree and disagree with OP. For instance I am not much familiar with football, but I understand that Brazil most likely would win Liechtenstein if they win. Should I resist placing a bet when the winner is obvious?

I mean odds do tell you picture which team has better chances to win, it's no rocket science and anyone can make bets this way in any sports including ones which he has zero idea of.

Quote
I am totally unfamiliar with cricket. I know that there is a guy who throws a ball and had to his little wooden logs, while opponent must his that ball back with a bat. Should I also resist placing a bet when I see one team has 1.05 odds and other 5+ ?

In few rare exceptions making this bet might not turn out as expected. For example, in ODIWC 2023, match being Australia vs Afghanistan, Afghanistan was pretty much guaranteed to win but Maxwell-Cummins brought Australia back into the game, this victory was from ashes because if you had watched you would have known how this game was dusted for Australia.

I don't remember bookie odds but I am sure they would have been close to what you mentioned.

How is this an advantage? Someone could argue that they could just not bet on a non-familiar sport and therefore avoiding that loss.

But I could expand on this statement. Learning about another sport would allow you to bet on more events and could give you more profits in the future since you now have more chances of winning and you are not just gambling on one sports event. Another advantage is that you could still be very objective when you start learning about a sport without being a fan of it in the first place. Meaning you are just an objective observer that could make bets without being biased to a specific team or athlete. Lastly, being introduced to any new sport is always welcomed because you can be introduced to a new community and a new hobby that could make you a more interesting person overall.

When it comes to sports betting, its better that you can analyze the game than just betting aimlessly, When you are analyzing a game, you feel that you are part of the game; there's also a sense of fulfillment if you accurately predict the winner or the outcome, There's a joy in winning but there's additional joy if you participate in a game by predicting the results, so its better to bet on sports that you are familiar with.

Knowledge gives you an advantage even in gambling. Most people dont necessarily need to know much about certain sports before they place their bets. So long they understand how to arrange their odds, they just go ahead and place their bets. Beside it's a game of luck so there isn't much need for studying. The only thing that a gambler should make sure he does is to find the past events of that particular sport and how they make their wins.we know a lot about popular games like soccer or basketball and many others because these are games we play most of the time in real life so we know the rules. For games we know not much about, just a little knowledge is enough to play..

I would even say that it is enough to be interested in one sport, and choose only a few top leagues will be enough to know everything about the teams. In my opinion, this will be even better, because if you try to follow many championships, then you will definitely miss some news, and if you choose only a few championships, then it will be much easier for you to know the situation and the table in order to understand what these teams are capable of in the next round.

It is much easier compared to betting on sports that we do not master and generally we like football so betting on football is much more profitable because we have the ability to analyze matches, although sometimes our analysis in certain matches also goes beyond expectations so that in the end we also lose the bet. But in terms of certainty it may be much better to bet on sports like football because we understand the match and always watch it.

I prefer to bet on football compared to other gambling because football is a hobby so I often watch it and occasionally place bets on certain clubs that are considered to be able to provide victory, although sometimes I also experience defeat in betting.

Gambling depends on luck but there is need to have enough experience to successfully play games. How would you understand these gambling terms, concepts and its applications without learning about them. Gambling should not be played for money alone, gamblers should enjoy their betting experience. I wouldn't place a bet on horse racing, basketball, hockey, etc since I don't have any experience. I will only place bets on sports I enjoy..

There are first-time gamblers who have won big, yet they don't have much experience. A high gambling experience doesn't bring more wins but it aids a smooth and entertaining gambling experience.

Bookmakers nowadays are able to offer a vaste amount of gambling options and several markets on the same time.
I think this is interesting for gamblers that "love to play" but it's something risky for people that doesn't understand how to bet properly.
If you want achieve a profit and grow your bitcoin and crypto, you must avoid to play sports where you are not familiar.
Otherwise if you like playing "for fun" here you go... thousands and thousands of markets are ready just for you...

Gambling win is based on luck whether you're familiar with the sports or teams and your knowledge about a perticular sport or a team doesn't guarantee wins. But I can agree that for the sake of analysis that it's good to have knowledge of a sport that you want to bet on and even better to understand their recent games. It's fun to know the sports that you're betting on, it keeps you updated about their recent forms and news about the sport. Being up to date about your favorite sports news can guide you to analyze matches in leagues that you're not too familiar with because you know one or two things to help guide your decisions to bet.

Some people do not know a game but just want to try it and see how it is. It can even be very fun for such people that they want to try something new in gambling or betting.

I remember times that I gamble on table tennis which I do not know about at all. I won than loss. It was fun. Although, I limit the bet which could have been the reason that I won.

I almost agree with you. I mostly bet on football and I bet on individual boxing matches. I also place bets on Formula 1 drivers every season. But sometimes, just out of interest, I bet on cricket, which I don't understand at all. By the way, it is very pleasant to win such bets when you bet without hesitation and won. After all, sports betting is not chess, why not take a small risk?

There is a saying that "knowledge" is power and that is why we need to do what's right and bet on what we know. If someone keeps on betting on things that he or she isn't aware of, that is their problem.

But the advantage is certainly there for those gamblers that know what they are betting. YOLO is becoming normal but do not be that type of gambler when you don't know what you are betting.

If money is easy on you then do easy with your bets. And if each penny you bet is an important money to you then do not be like the YOLO guys, make sure that your bets are going in places and even there is no guarantee, you did your part of placing it on the right games and there is no regret - win or lose.
