That is why you jump up on some early bandwagons and bite few -4s early in the season. I like to play that way and sacrifice some points for team value early on and then tighten up in second half of the season.

Much easier to fit in Watkins with my 105.3M than yours 101.6M 
Checked your team, only bad call was Cunha for me. his suspension finally kicked in. Love the defense by the way. Would go similar myself, only Trent instead of Gvardiol.

Heh heh so I bit the bullet and used my Wild Card. Brought in one guy I really was desperate to offload before (Gvardiol) thinking City would finally win (they did) but he almost cost City a goal, that guy is a walking disaster. So my gamble paid off, probably ship him out again soon heh.

Then I went random and put in a cheapo Munoz defender who actually earned more points (2) than any of my other defenders on bench BUT I sold my dear old Pedro Porro who bagged 2 assists (ouch). Bad call there? Actually I refreshed my defence. Mazraoui is out as United are playing worse (did anyone see the game last night, my god, they are now the worst team in Prem in terms of effort, calmness, and physicality) and in are two more cheapos Digne and Castagne (I needed cheapos to make way for assistant manager budget).

My midfield stayed the same, but I swapped out Madisson for Enzo (luckily still on the bench) for more cheapo power. And yes, I followed the herd and took in Isak. So expensive! But I now have 5 free transfers, and some gas in the budget, I should be able to offload Isak back for Pedro, maybe a few more upgrades then the chip comes in. Still no strategy figured out for that one yet.

All in all, I think I did okay with my Wild Card gamble. But still far from the week's top scorers so far Trofo and Rruchi. Mbeumo netting a hattrick would guarantee I beat all of you though... hahaha


Round about the time I sold Haaland, I tried to be smart. Play against the herd. Captained Saka instead of Salah, then captained Salah instead of Palmer, and then again instead of Haaland. These were the hattrick Haaland and 4-goal Palmer times.

I actually made more points that way in 2 rounds I think. But then bled off many more rounds. Many more rounds.

Then I stopped trying to outguess myself and just stuck captaincy on Salah. The herd have actually been giving Palmer the captaincy... according to the polls I follow from the Scout (and EPL Fantasy also insists Palmer's last 2 games were no brainers).

But Mo is on a personal vendetta this season... it is scary. It's Salah all the way and the only reason I'm doing so well I'm surprising myself and my FPL veteran kid haha. I think ignore herd/noherd and accept that Salah is on a divine path to create a new record no one will break in our lifetime.


Watkins was my love in seasons past but his price tag too expensive to fit my herd midfield strategy. I'm happy whenever he does well, got to take advantage of his starts now.

Watkins is probably the pick up of the pool so far for you, I strongly don’t think anyone else has him, after that Duran red I really did think about having him, but I could don’t do Joao Pedro to him, and Jackson against Ipswich looked better too.

For me, there is probable no love lost on Rogers missing the next round, It’s probably even better I as would have to pick who to bench between him, Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes in the midfield to pair with Salah and Palmer template, but maybe Pedro facing Arsenal next could have been a better sacrifice if Rogers was available.

Only problem is Rogers picked that 5th yellow and now we don't have him for the best possible fixture against Leicester at home. Wanted to roll the transfer, now i am not sure if I can do it.

At least Rodgers and Watkins did me good in that game. I don't think many in our pool if any have Watkins so hopefully that will net me some more points.

Perhaps it’s not a bad round for me after all, Morgan Rogers to the rescue, it could have been so much better if I had gotten some returns from Nicolas Jackson, I probably could careless about Palmer underperforming everyone else have him and it turned out better for me against those who captained him.

F-*ck again a shit round only because of the captain, i have a very good 68 points and having Palmer killing my chances of wining the round and also cutting big points to the people on top.

I dont know why so many teams are doing this, i know they want to not overcharge the players and make a healthy rotation but in some cases, it doesnt have any sense.

I don't think Arteta underrated Ipswich. We simply did not expect Ipswich to be so good, especially in defense. Some Chelsea supporters were quick to laugh at Arsenal for being able to score just one goal. Today Chelsea couldn't score any.

Not starting Jackson was Maresca completely underestimating Ipswich. Was Nkunku not for the conference league?

I have three Chelsea options as well; Enzo's days are numbered in my team.

I had 3 Chelsea players in my squad i dont know who was worst. Enzo,Colwill and Palmer as captain. They destroyed my week and Palmer as captain is killing me yet another week. Bad form of Chelsea now is giving me bad point and i dont know if i should replace all 3 players in next round

Played with fire and get burned. Arteta tried it, underrating Ipswich and they only won by a whisker.  Struggling all game and missing passes, not working the Saka’s wing good due to his absence and the game was a mess. Here again is Slot, taking such chances by leaving Jackson, Neto and Gusto on the bench. These are some of there very best and for some reason, they had to come from the bench, far into the second half.

They got burnt already, Ipswich were determined to convert this home game for a win and they did.

It just feels terrible that I made a wrong captaincy selection in this round with Palmer. Should have sticked with Salah and get those prints from 1 goal and 2 assist than having to settle for this!

Chelsea are playing against Ipswich and all of a sudden Sanchez is not in goal and Nicolas Jackson is also on the bench, I really don’t know what the fuck is wrong with these coaches, it’s Monday night, you don’t have any midweek fixtures, your next game isn’t until Saturday ffs… I just might be the first person in the pool to use their second wildcard 🤷🏾‍♂️

This is the main problem for us,we are expecting Salah to slow down or not to give points and thats why i personally dont pick Salah as captain and its always a mistake. Everyone is 50/50 for captain for Salah or Palmer but each round Salah is the better option. Im hoping today that Palmer does something incredible because i have him on captain and really need his big points to make a good week

I think we are a lot of people in  that boat. We all are whinking the same and that is "Salah is gonna cut his good streak" so we choose Palmer who plays against weak teams, but until now this is not happening and Salah still in his best and destroying us.

GW18 winner is B1g4udge with 69 points. Good work despite having Fernandes with -2 in his team, Cunha to the rescue. Congrats man.

I am getting some inquiries about round winners. Seems to me some people are forgetting that minus points get deduced from your round score. If B1g4udge took -8 points hit this week, he would have just 61 points and wouldn't be close to the top. Official app is showing this info a bit strange so that is why i think we have confusion this season. previously it was clear from the get go. You can still see it on official web page or any other unofficial app/page I have ever used.

I was angry when I left the captaincy to Salah over Palmer at the start of the GW, but now I'm glad I made that mistake. I expect Palmer to score at least two goals though.

Isak and Wood are killing my rank, they're the only problem I'm having now.

Same. I cannot believe i keep avoiding Salah trying to get some points on other captains and now praying that Palmer will do something big against Ipswich and get me those points needed. I guess i picked my transfer really good this round bought Sels instead of Pickford and i told earlier in this thread that Everton cant continue to keep the clean sheet. So far have 44 points and 5 players left plus Palmer as captain. Hoping the luck goes my way and i score something big in this round. I need it badly

Salah's captaincy will be the end of me. Why can't I simply follow the herd? I lost SO MANY points there already.
Haaland at least brought some points this time - but Salah is the one to stick with for now.

My Haaland gamble looks like a fiasco in the making, he scored 1 goal in 2 games and I traded him for Isak and Havertz who both scored already and are still to play tomorrow.

I took 5 games in my calculations so I really hope I get something from him in the next 3.

Oh! That would hurt, living Bruno in the lineup. It wouldn’t matter much shah as, your first sub would be a preference in either case I think. You just hope he gets point.

I took Bowen out and brought in Cunha, Cunha got sub at halftime while Bowen couldn’t get past 1point as well. Eeems I didn’t make any terrible sub at that. What I’m hoping not to have got wrong would be, not having to captain M. Salah. I mean, I’m not pleased of that decision at the moment, would be looking forward to what Palmer would do with it. Ipswich shouldn’t be a difficult game.

I didn’t make any changes as well, I think I even left Bruno in the starting lineup knowing he’d get an auto sub. There was no clearcut transfer I’d rather make with one transfer, it would have likely just go to waste, the fixtures for the next round also look like another which I’d bank another transfer, then I can have a mini wildcard at my disposal.

He could still win it or get himself into a good position; the difference in points is not so much; Icopress has so much faith in Haaland; it affected him for some weeks, but it looks like things are turning around as Haaland finally scores, and it is looking like Manchester City will keep a clean sheet also in this game.

I didn't make any changes this week, I left my team exactly the same as last week, I just hope I don't regret it.

I just went up 4 places in the past four weeks.

You just have to make smart transfers and avoid taking too many hits. And don't make silly choices for captain. By the way, icopress used to be leading this thing. How'd he end up 9th?
