Meh.
And just to be clear, I'm counting how many times they'll be in the starting lineup out of the 38 games played. Both sitting at 0 right now. Minutes don't matter too much to me (although they'll likely be higher for whoever starts).

Thank you @CLS63, and all good!

If you'd like to lower any of the other bets we have (your pick) and add this one in with that amount - I'm good with it Smiley

I'll take anyone up on a sidebet that Gvardiol will start more games this season than Stones will.
I accept your challenge. How about 10 mBTC? The total number of minutes is counted.

Deal! 0.01BTC, I have Gvardiol to get more starts over the season than Stones will. Premier league only, yeah?

Maybe @CLS63 can add this one to the spreadsheet, and perhaps the spreadsheet of props can be added to first reply? Smiley

I have added it to the spreadsheet. Frankly I also think that Stones will play in more. But I don't want more as there are already 3 side bets between us. Tongue

Yes, only the Premier League. There can be any number of starts, but one of them should have more minutes played at the end of the season.

p.s. I'll remind you at the end of the season.

1.5mBTC! ONLY start games.....what's your offer?

We can do 0.0015BTC, I'm down for anything from 0.001-0.025BTC.

You see how easy it is to be objective when you don't have the player and how emotions get the better of you when you do. Gabriel is exactly the same story as Stones just more nailed. He felt something during the training and the did not want to risk him but he was already good enough to enter for couple of minutes.

C' mon man! What's you waffling about  Grin  I have both players, and when I checked my team, there was no sign that Gabriel was injured. This is a game of passion, and emotions often play a role, but trust me when I say that my analysis is always objective.

I don't have him on my team and don't consider having him as well. With the signs already surfaced, I don't think Pep would  what could have been a minor hamstring injury turning into something serious and that leaves me to think he just might not feature in the Newcastle game. Its another risk leaving him on the team instead of using him for a substitute player.

According to a City source, he will just miss the Super Cup final against Seville and will be available for the Newcastle United game. Only speculations though.

I'll take anyone up on a sidebet that Gvardiol will start more games this season than Stones will.

Funny twit  Cheesy It seems that having Haaland in the team is simply a necessity, because if you don't have him, then you are not just playing "your strategy" but playing against a huge number of people who have him in the team. Obviously he will give a lot of points on average so I don't know which alternative to choose and how lucky to be to replace him.
That appears to be the case from his last seasons out burst and his already got a brace from the early kick off to start the season, that tells how prepared he is for the season and has got a lot of points to be earned off him.
That boy J. Alvarez is another player that could be up to something but, his playing time is questionable as he tends to feature more as a substitute player or just another option after E. Haaland who's fitness and conversion rate leaves him on the pitch everytime. I was surprised Pep had J. Alvarez on at the start of the season but hey, it's a start and Pep would always try out his team.

I've said it before:  Stones owners don't spend your FT on getting Stones out; he's Pep's first choice at CB, and I expect him to start against Newcastle united. He felt his hamstring, but it doesn't appear to be major, so he should be able to return to training sooner.

My main issue right now is Gabriel, who no longer looks like a starter and has lost his starting place to Ben White.

Gabriel =>> Saliba
Arteta surprised many of us today with his team selection. Maybe he is trying to copy Pep nd his rotation, but he was lucky that it did not cost us the game else he would have been heavily criticized for not starting Gabriel. I am sure Gabriel will start some other games.

Timber who looked promising for us this season is already out injured, No real news on the extent of his injury. He was a part of my team before, I had to take him out. Good decision on my end.

Then I do not know WTF it is difficult for Ramsdale and Arsenal to keep a clean sheet, it is embarrassing! I did not expect Nottingham Forest to score in that game, they ruined things for me.

Do nothing with Stones before we get more info. He got injured on last trainging is first news. Could be something minor or not, no point in reaction before we know. He is still the most nailed City defender for me.

Just think what would you say to other people if you did not have him. I know I try to do that. I transferred him out for Saliba 15 seconds before the deadline since there was already talks about the knock. Was not even sure the game accepted it since servers were lagging.

2 of 3 defensive players in my squad didn't play (Stones, Gabriel). I wasn't surprised because nothing is a surprise in Guardiola's team. However Gabriel's condition made me sad. By the way cryptofrka, I see that you didn't add Haaland to your squad. Because of that I'm adding the tweet below for you:

I'm one of the rare ones that decided to go without Haaland, it's been a shitty call it seems.

All 7 of my offensive players will have to average 175 points to compensate for that, but it just seemed more fun to assemble a team a bit differently.
I decided to go with Salah, I expect him to have a great season. He'll probably have a slow start though.

What to do with Stones? Considering that he did not start him, tinkering Pep probably won't be putting him in the same position he was in last season. Makes sense to rotate him out early.

Im in the same boat, but it was because i think against Burnley in Burnley home City its gonna strug. But the game was open so easy and so fast , and now im destroyed.

I choose to put all the money on the midfield, with huge names, but well i already said it before, im not good in this kind of games.

I think Gvardiol will be the only "safe" player in the backfield for city this season - considering what they spent on him.. The rest will surely be rotated around a lot, just a matter of getting him (Gvardiol) settled in with the team and the playbook. What we saw in the world cup was nothing short of fantastic and I'm a firm believer he'll end up being the best defender in the world with City.

Guardiol could became that in future, but that future could be 3 games away or next season. We can only wait and see. He has enormous potential and solid head, hope he will build on that.

I also transferred in Stones + Grealish for Saka at the last minute and now it seems that Stones is injured (so I swapped him out for my Aston Villa bench). And Grealish was never intended to be a long term pick anyway, I was hoping he'd score a few thundercunts at the first few games.

Well I was already going to sell Stones for GW2 anyway, but hopefully I am not wrong about Saka as I still have Odegaard (and Gibbs-White).

It helps to have a strong bench in times like these, that's why I didn't buy 6.0 forward like Wissa or JP.

Pep and his mind game once again - Stones was injured in training before the game and he never talked about it, he kept it quiet, I'm not sure he's gotta be available for next GW he's my long term plan thus I'd prefer have him on my bench until I know the extent of his injury.

Saka and Ode were in my long-term plan last season; I already have Saka, but I didn't have enough balance to get Ode, so I'm keeping an eye on him for now

Pep Roulette is going to kill most managers this season.

let's say you have 3 players from one team in your squad and suddenly (because the transfer window is still open) a player (who you also have in your squad but from a different team) changes to exactly the same club from which you already have these 3 players - so you would then have 4 players from the same team in your squad
what happens in this case exactly Huh

The rule book says you still have to transfer one of them out.
It isn't that clear, stuff like that happened before and I think FPL gave you a free transfer to remove that player or even let you keep him. Not sure though. The game does check for that only when you make transfers so you can use him until you need to make first transfer.

Foden will definitely be a regular player for City this season not doubt about that, unless Man City are able to make those extra signings like Paqueta, and now that De Bruyne is out injured, there is no better time to get Foden in, he's been great at finding those open spaces in the Burnley setup, you would almost think that was Gundogan, and we also know how much of a good finisher Foden really is.
Good luck with that. If I learned one thing about City that is - nobody is secure, except maybe Haaland and Ederson. All other players will get rotated sooner or later. Problem is they are the best team and we want their players but I don't want that added stress of checking lineups every time City plays. Screw them, I have Haaland and that is it.

You just saw what Pep did with defense yesterday, there isn't a single FPL specialist or anybody that could have predicted that.
