Phishing site is the basic thing to avoid in cryptocurrency because there are many scammers who want your coins.
As long we are very careful to check every time we visit any website, we will not be phished, and always double and triple check the link or url.
It is good for you and others.  We need to be more aware of small things that can have a big impact.  Phishing sites are one of them.  With vigilance, we will be safe and avoid scammers.
Scammers have many ways to get what they want.  I'm used to not joining airdrop and not visiting sites that are usually sent via spam email.
Yes often we get emails and often we find sites on them. Sometimes we feel curious and finally open the site, I think this is something that often happens to all of us. When we feel that we need to open it, we will open the site and before we realize it is a phishing site. For now we better be careful with the sites that are submitted, don't be too curious about these sites.

Yes so many people are working in this now a day people use to spread such sites which gives people new hope about getting fast profit so we should not open those sites and make your own research about having profited by only real sites. Those who are greedy and want to become rich faster will get scammed by them.

Don't forget to bookmark it. You can also check its domain registration date, if that exchange or platform site was already like running for years already.
Try this site to look for it: https://lookup.icann.org/lookup
Be cautious out there, hodlers.
I was almost a victim of some kind of scheme where in they redirect you to a fake MEW site, and wanting you to log your wallet into their site along with your private keys.

Damn! Any airdrop asking one to pay is scam. Also, I usually advise crypto enthusiasts, don't just click any random site you come across,  some will even install spyware to your device. Some sites will ask noobs for private key or keystore, in a bid to hack their wallets. Let's be guided please.
Just a little bit curious how could you even call it an airdrop if you need to pay in order to receive it?
People are surely being blinded by their greed if they would fall on to this kind of tricks.
And also those airdrops that would ask for private key or keystore is clearly a scam so how could anyone fall for it?
Those new in crypto should be guided properly and know the difference between scam and legit airdrops if they want to join airdrops.

This type of fraud is common, but there are still those who are caught in the trap. Usually you have to fill in the form with your personal data or information in the form of your email and social media accounts. This will be used by them to spread phishing, or give a message if you become a winner in the giveaway they launched.
must be careful with fraud models like this.

OWNR - Store all crypto in one app.
Phishing is the most popular method to scam peoples, in cryptocurrency or outside cryptocurrency world.
The best way to prevent is by bookmarking every time we first visiting the legit website we want to use.
Always be careful and take caution when we want to use new website that we have never use before.
Well said, these kind of problem can't be easily avoided particularly these days but having some enough understanding about safety and security might help you because you know how you can keep away from it. I don't usually visit some sites that aren't familiar to me because of what I have experience before, I just don't want to repeat the same mistakes that makes me regret every decision I've made. If you are curious about that specific site then try to ask someone if they have any idea or just do your own research, maybe its a bit laborious but it helps you to get rid of scammers.

I usually ignore such promotional e-mails, because in 99 percent of cases it is going to be a scam. Never click on such links, because even a simple click can cost you your private data and maybe even passwords.

indeed at this time a lot of airdrops in circulation and one of them I've heard the airdrop will be distributed when making a deposit with a certain amount even the minimum deposit amount is very much, if you find it like that then you should not make a deposit because it is a fraud and I have experienced that problem and lost a very large amount of bitcoin.

The phising site is growing this holiday season so we have to be careful! Don't believe in give aways right away as this is the usual mode of scammers.
It's best to bookmark the websites we go to, especially if it's our wallets or trading accounts. Because this is usually the target of thieves. It's easy to find fake websites especially in its spelling just like your post.

As I know whose name is airdrop or giveaway we are not required to deposit to them because it is all free.
If anyone tells the deposite it is likely 100% scam. And before filling out the form an airdrop check all existing on its platform such as a whitepaper, roadmap, team, etc.

send and receive money instantly, with no hidden c
there are so many sites like this scattered here and there.
they always offer quite a lot of prizes, so we should avoid sites like this.

we really need to be more careful, don't click on any site randomly, maybe the scammers have infiltrated spyware on that site. always be vigilant and we also have to always check and make sure the site we are visiting is safe and of course it must also be genuine.

Damn! i fell for these guys when if first heard about cryptocurrencies and started investing. I remember i visited a clone website of MEW and unfortunately accessed my account on their site. The next thing i knew was my tokens being moved  Cry. It was later that i checked the site again and realized it was fake! Seriously newbies and starters in here should be careful of cloned sites of popular crypto projects.
That's very unfortunate.
You should have been marked those sites in your bookmark. This helps to avoid being a victim of phishing sites especially those cloned sites.
This scenario is the most common thing that the hackers/scammers do on these days. You should have been alert every time.

yes, how to overcome to be safely immediately bookmarked every time sites that are frequently visited such as exchangers, web wallets to avoid phishing websites, keep incoming e-mails unknown, do not visit the sites they provide.

Most scams targets those who aren't aware of the ways of the internet. They'll blindly follow the hope of huge rewards, not thinking while doing actions such as pay-to-get rewards schemes. Almost all of the time, when one site does that, it's outright scam and double think always if you're entering sensitive data on the internet because once it's submitted, there's no turning back.

Trident Protocol | Simple «buy-hold-earn» system!

This is essentially for those who are new to the space, that they do not fall prey to cheap scams. The above ad seem to be very popular on facebook, a mimic, requesting you to fill the form and make some deposits to claim your rewards. That's is the scam part. The legit site is https://www.coinmama.com/ and NOT coinmama.com.ru. I am sure those who made deposit will not get anything  out of it as it obviously mimicking another popular site. Just be careful.
Any contrary opinion is welcome for discussion pls.

thank you for the information that you have told us all ... because don't let us here become victims of fraud from various applications that give free dollars  because before I was a victim of fraud, then from me I was very happy if someone wanted share information about fraud that often happens today, let's share information to avoid fraud.

My friends has been a victim of this, someone sent link to his telegram via pm, he clicked it then he can no longer access his btt account.
I doubt that unless the hacker somehow managed to obtain the password of your friend's bitcointalk account, because otherwise there is no way to exclude the original owner of the account without his password.

Either way, did your friend open a thread in the meta section of this forum to ask admin(s) for account recovery? That would be the logical step to follow if it wasn't a throwaway account.
