There must be some new rules for this section like members will need atleast jr. Member of Full Member status to post in this section because the rate of scam is going up every day ..!

A lot of people are trying to scam nowadays and as you said it's rising from day to day. A lot of scammers. Be aware guys and always use an escrow service.

Or if you deal via PayPal tell them to send the money as goods and then tell them to dispute and then close it. Like this they will be no longer able to chargeback the money.

That doesn't work. You can still claim unauthorized payment. Just because you can't reopen a dispute on PayPal doesn't mean they can't chargeback.

Not only that but PayPal keeps track of how many disputes are open against you. You can get your account closed this way if you do it too many times.

As a n00b, how do we prove ourselves so that we can do a transaction through PayPal?  I mean I've got plenty of eBay feedback to at least prove I'm a honest seller/buyer.
A picture of you with your ID card or Passport in hand could be enough for some seller.

Ok, cool, good to know.  That's easy enough to do.  I'll have to keep that in mind in case anybody ends up having some coins they can sell me.

^This, but I don't want to deal with your personal info. Privacy laws and correct handling of this is too much trouble.

With all the exchanges doing verification, it would be nice if they would lend their services to help you verify your trader is legit. Maybe for a small fee. Probably still get out of hand.

I'm quite puzzled. So how can I buy bitcoins safely without linking my bank account to trade websites like bitcon.de?
