This is hilarious... I actually have some BFL hardware and even I think this means they are finished..  They are obviously trying to move payments to a medium that cant be refunded (bitcoin or wire xfer).  They are using a design which alot of us *know* cannot dissipate that much heat, and they are moving at a snail's pace with current orders.

Guys... Ive never said this before, but i believe they are on the virge of folding and taking anyone who preorders money with them..

Regarding power consumption, Radeon 6990 both consume more power than our card does, the very reason we took this design approach.

Regards,
Nasser

EDIT: Corrected '5970' and '5870' to 6990

It occurred to me that BFL needs to account for all the money spent on hookers, beer, boats, and blowjobs, and salaries.
In comes 28nm non-recoverable engineering costs.
"Your honor, we have to declare bankruptcy because we spent all the money on 28nm!"

Well....H-board from BitFury don't need fan to work properly...(except if you go to overclocking...)

I'm not sure what your point is. The BitFury product is not 28nm, and is passively cooled by design.

You answered yourself...

Someone shut derr777 up until I have my refund from BFL!

Holy crap man! That is so irresponsible to release such truths like that. How dare you!  Cheesy

So someone please find the post from Feb that basically called out BFL for not shipping, told everyone to demand refunds at once, or prepare to be an all fucked until July.
Because everything he predicted has now officially come true.

He nailed the fact that they wouldn't ship until mid summer 2013.
He nailed the fact that they would ship at a snails pace.
He nailed the fact that they would deny refunds.
He nailed the fact that they would give people lip on the Web forums and not offer support or information about the shipping procedures.
And lastly, he claimed that they would need a new product or upgrade to keep up with the current orders. Which is this.

The whole post has now come true. I wish I book marked it. No one fucking listened. Not even me.

LOL

who was it, i can't exactly recall the name either, but i remember that post.

was it oldminer?

I called them out that they'd have to deny refunds or be insolvent, which josh denied:

You certainly made an excellent post. But there was an even earlier one either on this board for the BFL board that was exquisite in details. But yours is perfectly on target too don't get me wrong. Everyone should've heeded your words, at least the later orders.

I found this more accurate picture of the device, it has the proper PCIe bus:

I think BFL jsut wrote their own (coded) obituary. Breathtaking, and simultaneously, hilarious, and not least, very upsetting for their unsatisfied pre-orderers.

I hear some nervous shuffling from pre-orderers for other over-promised ASIC companies, I'm sure of it....
The good thing is that even when (not if) they fold and take all the customers with it...their corpsicle of a company will at least "induce" other ASIC companies to lower their prices. ASSuMing of course, that they believe the bullshit too...

What I found funny is:

They are making the promise using a generic image of a video card. Absolutely Hilarious:

That photoshopped card looks suspiciously like a reference AMD.

Oh, and "stay away from BFL" should be sung to the tune of YMCA Smiley

Wait...

What has happened to all the profits BFL surely made from their FPGA and ASIC products? They must have made something for R&D on top of their running costs? Surely? What sort of going concern is this?

I don't think a website/forum account hack attack using this precise same "28nm, 2 weeks!" announcement could possibly have made their situation worse. In fact, that would be a (piss poor) fallback excuse if the whole organisation (predictably) folds within the next few months: "28nm? We weren't even in the office when that announcement was made, we'd all been on vacation since July... these scammers have gone to elaborate lengths to sabotage BFL's reputation..."

Let the Group Buys begin!

Seriously, can't tell which scam is worse, BFL or MtGox...
