There were two polls, one was predominately quadrant views, the other was not.  Very low turnout on the second poll despite being posted about a day later (as of right now 23 votes on the first poll but only 9 on the second).  Links were posted here since the polling system was integrated with the Freelancer website.  While a bit more work to go to than just a poll here, it was far easier to put together and my thought was the people that went and voted would predominately be the ones interested in the coin, not just random forum users.

We had over 400 entries, in a contest the site expected a "great turnout" would be 200.  A lot were rehashes of designs in different color schemes or small tweaks.  But the quantity of the turnout was very good.  As a sealed contest no other artists could see the other entries.  Yet prior to the suggestion by the Dev, we got a lot of meaningless logos that could have been for Biblepay or easily could have been for some new candy bar or investment group.  The better ones would at least have been seen as probably being some megachurch but prior to the suggestion most of the logos were nicely done but very generic.  As if the artists had a file that was "generic religious logos" that they slapped Biblepay on and submitted.

The top design does represent the coin well, but it can still be tweaked a bit (we've got 6 days before I have to extend or award the prize).

Thank you for the clarification on the process Smiley I understand now.

Looking at the polls again, the four icons without a doubt makes the design more unique, that's for sure.

You have to search this in this thread. I tried to compile it on a raspberry pi 3 but failed. Dev said somewhere in this thread that probably a few lines of code need to be altered.

Good Morning All,

My main rig is no longer syncing with the network. I deleted all banned nodes, backed up, and reinstalled and Im still stuck syncing. I show about 10 peer connections but its not moving. What would be the next problem solving step?

Thanks!

Very strange, try deleting blocks-chainstate folders also, delete peers.dat again, banlist.dat again, restart.

On the side try this:
telnet node.biblepay.org 40000

(Screen should clear).

am wondering if some people want to sabatoge biblepay coin,
by voting for a cluttered logo with 4 quadrants,
and 4 different pics of things like that.
Maybe voting is not the way to go with this coin?
But I won't reject this coin because of that pic,
but why wasn't the voting done on bitcointalk.org ?
There is some other people who agreed with me.
(I haven't looked at any pages at all yet, that had a vote of any kind that i know of.)

Links were posted (and quoted) on bitcointalk several times. I also voted. But I do agree on the 'four quatrants' thing, because to be fair, that was kinda decided without asking the community. I know it was just a suggestion by 'the boss'. But a suggestion goes a long way when you're an artist entering a contest. You would - as an artist - probably rather follow that suggestion than risk losing the contest because you 'did your own thing'.

Quote from the freelancer site:

Quote
If you're stuck for ideas, the boss likes this concept:
Think of 4 things that we really will be “known” for: like Orphans, Fruits, Angels, Doves, etc. And have them make 4 quadrants inside the coin: one with little tiny logos of doves, babies, fruit, and angels for example. Then on the outer edge, color it a different color, like maybe Gold around the edge or silver. Make the quadrants a contrasting color to the edge color (IE Maybe crimson doves and babies and fruits, yet a gold outer edge for example so we do have a two tone color).

So of course, most of the artists followed this idea, and the coins that we could vote on as a community almost all had the quatrants. Í'm not saying I don't like the idea, but I do like it when a logo is simple and direct. That being said, I really do like the design we chose, and I fully trust the artists capability, I just think there is too much going on for my personal taste in the main logo. But maybe we can also have a simplified version?

how can i update testnet wallet from 148 to 149? on main webpage exists still only 148 wallet :
still dont understand Robert why you cant do on wallet button write wallet release number? so its question few seconds do it  Huh
Once you upgrade the wallet you can type 'exec getversion' and it shows "wallet_fullversion": "1.0.4.9".  Thats how you know you upgraded.

You have to update TESTNET from source, as we are testing sanctuaries.  Sanctuaries dont run on windows.

Your last sentence is unintelligible - I have no idea what you mean by release number.  In the future to save our time here, try to take the steps to find the field name you refer to in a chained sentence with pipe delimited columns, then paste it here.  We have hundreds of places across 3 products with release numbers.

PS Github does have the release number on the commit.  It says 1.0.4.9 - Non-Mandatory (TESTNET).

But I agree that it looks a bit strange, which is also why I'm leaning toward a cleaner look. Because in my opininon the more direct and non-confusing it looks, the better.
LOL, but no it looks like an angel right off the bat to me.  Its not bad.  We should have mentioned any changes to the designer earlier.  We didnt even pay West the full amount, so we cant possibly expect him to spend more (But note, Im not even admitting there is a flaw).  Its most likely viewer error.

Im happy with it.  We would have had to spend $1100 and hold this in the forum with more voting participation and more care - (I didnt really see that happen).  As no one created a swatch forum thread for colors, and West didnt recoup all of his expense.

Its good guys, we are able to move to the next level with this logo.

We will have the clean monochrome version with no lettering for those other places.

I think keeping it simple is my preference,
even just a cross is ok with me, nothing else,
but i know other people think differently than i do.

a simple drawing of a book with a cross on it is ok too,
or a drawing of a scroll to indicate writings.

my personal thinking is it looks too cluttered with the four different drawings in the 4 quadrants ..

is anyone going to reject biblepay coin if the drawing of the logo is not as fancy as they want?
(I was around in 2013, and at that time, most of the coins did not have much of a fancy logo at all,
and Netcoin Net took early advantage of that at the time, by paying to have  a pro draw their logo for them,
and I think that fancy drawing at that time, did have a big impact on acceptance or rejection of netcoin.
The fancy logo set them apart from the rest of the pack back then.
I do not think this is the case nowadays though, there have been too many coins with fancy logos, there may be more of a yawn factor in late 2017 compared to 2013 for fancy logos)

We do understand the concept of clean and simple, thats what the monochrome version will be for - it wont have lettering and will be one color and will be recognizable from the partner sites.

You missed the actual voting on the designs - we had all kinds of styles entered.  This particular design was voted on.  To me it says that the logo was well thought out, it has our latin slogan and the quadrants show our fruits.  I dont think we are lacking anything by having the advanced side and the simple side.  I love it personally.

For Linux, you can find what you need right here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BiblePay/comments/6ummuj/how_to_mine_biblepay_on_linux/ (search for the 'update' header)

Also, see my post here:
http://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=16.msg267#msg267

For Windows, just install the exe. It will overwrite everything that's needed.

who are you trying to impress with a fancier or more cluttered looking logo(which also is more difficult to draw than a simple cross or
the old fish drawings of the early believers?)

it isn't up to me though, but i thought i would let you know some of my thoughts Smiley

Our leading artist redid the image to make it a more pronounced cross.  Do we like it better this way or the other?

They're linking in the Biblepay Forum.

Wow!  Thats pretty stunning.  Imho, I think I like B a little more than A, since A is a little "Gold" looking, Ill comment over there.  Also, I think this contrasts really well on most pages and contrasts itself also.

Heres the link:

I agree with you that when it comes to logos, keeping it simple is the way to go. I love the design that the artist made, and I love the white cross. But maybe changing something with the four quadrants can give is a cleaner look.

Oh, and I like the picture you used on your blogpost, very funny!
