This is actually great news, though I hope that this would not be a short-term acceptance of the said cryptocurrency as we know that these magnates/companies have the tendency to pull off these payment methods once the price flops. I've seen Steam do it once and silently which is just utterly disappointing knowing that it's a great thing for most gamers who don't have access to credit/debit cards. All I know is that they are accepting it currently because of the hype, but once the hype dies, the option to pay in crypto will also die, too, and I hope it doesn't turn out that way.

Great, instead of getting rid of the intermediaries and 3parties, now instead of Visa we have two

So how is Flexa already letting Cameron Winklevoss pay for that Starbucks coffee with crypto, and how are the 15 other enterprises also doing so?

First, users need to download the app from Apple’s App store, then send it their asset of choice from any cryptocurrency wallet. While Gemini custodies the crypto funds, Spedn takes care of the payment itself by generating a one-time QR code on the phone’s screen, which is scanned by the participating store’s existing scanner, debiting the amount charged from the customer’s account. While the customer gets a receipt showing the purchase as a gift card, Spedn settles the payment with the merchant in the preferred currency at a later date.

I wonder how much it will cost now to pay those two and what charges will merchants face with this setup.

Great news, happy to see a way to spend coins but sending your coins in a 3rd party wallet is just not the way to do it.
The coins you don't have the private key for are not yours.

Heard about Starbucks, Nordstrom etc accepting BTC recently and even heard of a rumor that Ebay would provide BTC as a payment option very soon. I am expecting adoption rates to rise even further once the LN is fully functional which would help speed up TX speeds and reduce TX charges in a big way.

The future does look bright for crypto in my opinion.

This is a great news finally Bitcoin being recognize by big merchants.
Maybe we aren't too far from using Bitcoin on almost everything .
Maybe soon we could easily use it like Fiat to pay up for everything.

Even small scale merchants have started accepting bitcoin, Starbucks once began to accept bitcoin and due to some sort of delay with the network confirmation it stopped the service. Importantly most of the chained networks have been accepting through an intermediary who pay the firm in terms of fiat. This needs to change, only then we can find the true growth it have achieved in terms of acceptance.

Bitcoin hype is creating a favorable environment for the trading business as news flashes that Bitcoin is getting accepted by the big merchants. But, before selling it blindly make sure that your trading Bitcoin for profit as its price fluctuation (Every minute rising price) can be a deep sink for you.

I jave seen the article here yesterday. This is big news for cryprocurrency since this could lead to mass awareness and adaptation. Good to know that cryptocurrency is somehow being recognized by some companies as an alternative to cash or plastic money. Let's hope this will be a start for some companies and merchants to accept cryptocurrency as a payment method.

There are now many merchants big, small and those in between which are now accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in their business. With the help of third-party applications, they are able to integrate Bitcoin option with their infrastructure. Here are some in the list as provided by payments startup Flexa:

Barnes & Noble, Baskin Robbins, Bed Bath & Beyond, Caribou Coffee, Crate & Barrel, Express, GameStop, Jamba Juice, Lowe’s, Nordstrom, Office Depot & OfficeMax, Petco, Regal Cinemas, Ulta Beauty and Amazon-owned Whole Foods Market and of course Starbucks

Source is here.

The names are the who's who in their respective industries. Now, we are all hoping that soon more and more big names will be coming on board so as to boost Bitcoin and the rest of the cryptocurrency club. I know that we are still far cry from mainstream adoption but we can get there one merchant at a time. Soon if this whole thing can be sailing smoothly, there can be an avalanche of support from the business community.
