Good evening there,
I hope this post finds you well.

All of the following written communications represent legal matter.

Account ID: 64742979
Case ID: 71228110

Account got opened on January 2021, trading activity was smooth and no necessity to verify the account arised.

On 03/04 account's 2FA needed to be reset. Therefore we followed its process including ID verification.
However, as Binance CS knows well, this kind of verification do not verify the account.

Ten days later, on the 13/04, account's private keys got accidentay leaked on Github, while working on a group project.
Intruder succeded on stealing some funds, through low volume pair trading. Binance luckly suspended the account.

Costumer Support asked to prooced with account verification and provide a video showing full account login process.
All steps were completed correctly.

Since the verification held on 03/04 didn't leave any info, there was bit of confusion on who verified the account previosly.

Therefore, despite the correct video and verification, we erroneously breached ToS section 3, paragraph "a. Registration", regarding multiple accounts.

According to our Legal advisor, given no support during the past week, we seek a smooth resolution before escalating the case through a formal complaint and media attention.

Thanks a lot for your support.
I wish you a pleasant day.

Exactly, that's why dumb and lazy people should not trade if they don't know what they are doing. Bitcoin or altcoins have no 2FA, only private keys. People who are able to deal with these, can deal with their passwords as well.
Those who write their passwords on the forehead should not accuse others for their fault.
Yeah, but they still do. That's why Binance does everything they can to make their account as safe as possible. Smiley

And from no 2FA to 2FA is a big step in security and avoiding hacks.

That's because they care about their users' security.

I think all aspects of that question were discussed in my other thread as well.
I don't want someone to care about my security because I am able to do it myself very well and also because it is a part of my job. Now, what I care about is security of the exchange I am using and I would like to be sure 2FA is not all security they have.
2FA is an extra measure that makes every account harder to get hacked.

2FA is only a user side security and the way how users protect their accounts is their own responsibility.
Exactly. That's why they make it mandatory. The regular user is usually dumb and lazy, so they don't enable 2FA because it's an extra step and takes extra time to login. When it's mandatory, less users get hacked and they get less useless support tickets.

Can you please remove mandatory Google/SMS 2FA for withdrawals so I can start using your exchange? Please make it optional instead.

I don't need 2FA, I will use a unique password for your site and hope your exchange has a secure enough code to avoid database breaches, thank you.

If you don't want to set up a 2FA in your phone, you can just do what I suggested in your other post. Download an extension on your browser or a desktop based software that generates 2FA codes.

Nexo (https://nexo.io) now accepts Binance Coin (BNB) as collateral for instant loans in addition to BTC, ETH & NEXO, a great utility feature for BNB, as holders can stake their coins & get an instant loan in USD, EUR & Tether. Min loan is $1,000 and max is $2M - https://medium.com/nexo/nexo-to-accept-binance-coin-bnb-as-collateral-for-instant-crypto-backed-loans-74bb2fe1cfba

Binance just reset all the API keys!

So anyone running bots are going to be broken until you generate new keys.

Yeah, there are some talks that the API was hacked and there were BTC7000 moved. How true is this?

That would be another big negative move that can push the markets lower again. I hope its FUD lol.

Fellow Binancians,

Binance has removed all prior existing API keys and has now re-enabled API key creation. API users may now recreate their API keys from their user account center.

Another announcement regarding the re-opening of trading will be made once the maintenance is complete. Please stay tuned for further information.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your patience.

Thanks for your support!

HI,

Has anybody been able to reset 2fa on Binance? I have been trying for a month and I always receive the same answer regarding the third photo (selfie with passport) "the photo is too vague". I have been very cautious to make a net and clear photo all the time on which the numbers and letters are clearly visible but its being impossible to be approved. Its very annoying since my account is blocked since a month.

Any Ideas or suggestions?

thank you very much for answering.

Bitcoin Cash is a hard fork of Bitcoin. Anyone who owned BTC before the hard fork automatically has BCH. The exchanges had no choice and had to give the users who stored BTC in their exchange wallets their share of BCH.
What about the other tons of BItcoin (shit) hard forks that happened until now? Bitcoin Cash was not only a Bitcoin hard fork, but some kind of "split" from the community, thus they knew BCH trades would have a big volume and a loyal community.

Q: How will forked coins be reviewed?
A: The forked coin will go through the same strict listing review process as any other coin.

I am thinking what did the other exchanges do on those many bitcoin forks that weren't distributed on its client holders. There were too many and Bittrex has the most as they only distributed BCH and BTG. Binance at least did well compared to others.
