Yes so far, solo mining has been fun. I have mined approximately 69 Bips in 2 days.

The problem that I have run into is this:

1st wallet, was mining and mined approximately 43 bips. then I noticed that while mining was starting to get errors and that the block-chain was not increasing. and none of my 43 bips were coming unlocked. Backed up my wallet, restarted it and still no change. I cleared out all the Block-chain files and restarted bipcoined and re-downloaded the block-chain and all seems to be going well. I re-loaded my backed up wallet file in simple wallet and it is showing a 0 balance, nothing in locked or unlocked.

If I open the wallet file in the GUI windows wallet it still shows the transactions for mining the coins, but it is still not showing them unlocked.

I am not sure what to do.

Usually for my knowledge all i need is the wallet file, yet I also noticed that it also creates and address file, I still have both.

I created a new wallet and have since been mining for approximately 10 hrs and have mined approximately 26 Bips.. I am worried about losing these ones as well.

Any ideas?

thanks in advance

I got 122 bips solo mining overnight with hash rate of 145.

My friend Ben Stone says "mining is addictive. It's like an online game."
I said "It's the best online game."

What is block time? Think you should add this info to the first post.

didn't I? it's 120 seconds. I'll put it. Thank you!

Very cool. Especially good that it syncs fast.

yup. A well made coin does that at first. We released this a week ago.

I'm the guy who was just on IRC.

I really am going to bed now. Just finished writing a note to my team about how the Bytecoin guys might be hard to find. lol.

If you have any BipCoin questions, please leave them here and I'll reply when I get up. Or someone else will. There are some helpful and smart folks in this thread.

Take care.

Earlier I asked if it was possible to change a wallet's password without having to make a new wallet and transfering all my coins to that one.
I'm guessing you missed that question, which is no problem; I can believe that you're tired and busy fixing the issues Smiley

oh, and we might be worth more than Bytecoin in a way, even though we're not on any exchanges yet. Did you see our "spend BipCoin" page?

Twice the price outside the US, scandalous!
that is a joke btw

It's clear that's shipping cost, right? Also having to wait in line at the post office. ugh. And I don't have to do that for domestic mail here.

You can open the wallet file in the GUI version, and change the password there. Then save it and re-open it in simplewallet.

Others had the same question.
The post is from 2 years ago, regarding monero's simplewallet and the answer was "soon"
Apparently, "soon" hasn't come yet, or the issue was forgotten

Maybe this will help

But I think in the end, the other guy ended up just sending to the new wallet anyway

I think it's a little amusing that my Core 2 Duo desktop has found more blocks than my i7-5500U laptop...

I'm an impoverished Luddite.  All I have is a Core i3 mining on 3 threads.  I picked up 3 blocks overnight.

Nice.

I will probably be away for the night. Things are working well and I could use some time away from the screen.

Yeah, go get some sleep.

I got a block for 5798 and I don't see any unusual errors or forks...yet. I'll take it as a good sign.

Man we badly need that explorer!

For me it is 8:30 AM. Today, I started mining 20 min ago.
Yesterday (12+ hours ago) I still saw some errors but it didn't seem as bad as before.

so there are less errors now?

Yes. What's the default log level btw?
I set it to 0 (after setting it to 3) but it seems the miner doesn't tell me when it found a block.

Not sure.

I just leave it and type
balance
about every 8 hours.

"A watched pot never boils." lol.

My pot boils when I don't expect it. Got 4 blocks in <1 hour today, was waiting for >1 hour yesterday for one block.
Nice.

I have only been mining for about 20 minutes now and I have only had 1 connection error, not related to the ones I got before (I still had some yesterday)

nice hashrate.

you've only mined 20 minutes tonight, or ever? Did you see more errors other days?
I was seeing them more even when not mining last night.

The commands are a bit ugly. lol. In bipcoind:
set_log 3
print_bc 3600

Actually, set_log 3 is enough. It reports on every block found by the network, along with the diff. You just need to wait a few mins for a block to be found

print_bc xxxx prints a bunch on the specific block but I don't see the difficulty

Thank you for your service!

Would be nice if the pool could still show network hashrate and difficulty even when it's off.
Right now I can only see the difficulty when I actually find a block.

Each block contains its difficulty. (remember, changes with CryptoNote coins each block)

Difficulty of the last block when I checked a bunch of minutes ago and forgot to post to you:

height 3617, timestamp 1471798573, cumul_dif 447249453, cumul_size 208
id              <8ff004b8695969ade481d7830ca83bb6588d89a2d80e55319d0b2c45130728ce>
difficulty              1233230, nonce 1431655851, tx_count 0

difficulty is 1.2 million.

Found a block as I was reading this Smiley
Difficulty is about 430k rn, was >500k yesterday

cool and cool.

Are you seeing less errors tonight than the past few nights?

they will keep running the block explorer, but they're having a DDos attack now though.

Oh, my bad. Thought they just turned off the pool because you said it might be the culprit of the issues we've all been having.

both. the pool and explorer are down due to DDoS. When they get out of the DDos (it's been on and off for a week), they'll leave the pool off but turn the explorer back on.

Pool will stay off until we solve the bad tx issues. all the junk text flooding bitcoind. We have ideas, but need to pool of to check to see what to fix in the wallets.
