Okay.  So i jut checked in on my laptop and it says i FINALLY mined some Bips (Woohoo!)  but it doesn't show up in the locked amount balance.  Does this take awhile, or was I just duped into being happy for a minute?

did stuff turn around y'all? lots of oddness overnight, but has all worked out on my end, , wallet blocks even with explorer (and explorer back up), and all transfers finall came through. I didn't mine over night, but all sent/received from all wallets, Including CLI and GUI) worked.

No.  Just checked and now there are 3 blocks that say they have been mined, but don't show up in the locked or available balances.  Sad

MurderDawg, I've had a couple that failed verification for one reason or another.  You could check for this by searching your bipcoind.log for the phrase "failed verification".

In Windows, from a dos prompt: find /i "failed verification" bipcoind.log

In Linux: grep -i 'failed verification' bipcoind.log

I did backup now but that chain couldn't even sync up to the last block so its kinda useless and yeah I delete all, will try only .dat but I still can't understand how does solo mining with 80h can split into my own chain.

I'm not sure you did, since you can't sync.

are your deleted files still in your recycling bin?

might take a while.

did you back up files like I suggested before deleting? and are you deleting all files in appdata, or just ones ending in .dat? should be the latter.

everytime I have this fork issue I just delete all from appdata and redownload the chain, then its ok for about a day again, but I'm doing this almost daily.

all the .dat data? or all the data?
and you DO back it up, right?

Sorry for the dumb question, but why do you need to back it up?
If it is only the blockchain, you should be able to redownload it at any time, right?

It's good computing practice to ALWAYS BACK UP ANY FILES YOU INTEND TO DELETE. In case you're wrong, or I'm wrong, and it makes thing not work, then you can revert back to when things were only messed up, but sort of working, and try something else. lol.

And you should always close the associated program before backing up, because sometimes files won't properly back up when in use.

Have you CPU mined on the pool? I just can't get it to work for me.

no. My friend Jim Jesus (who helped make our logo) did successfully yesterday though.

I'm basically too busy trying to work on getting rid of these nightly problems to mine right now.

Alright. I'll continue to solo mine for now, but if your friend comes on the forums, it would be nice if he could help me.
You're doing great work on the coin, dev. I'm sure you'll have fixed the errors in no time.

Thanks man.

Jim doesn't like forums. lol.

Since you can't pool mine now, can you try solo mining for a while and let me know if you get blocks? Thanks!

I left the pc to mine while I was away, when I came back I saw that I mined 5blocks in a row and I was behind with about 300 blocks, how can this  happen while solo mining ? I don't really get it.

If anyone still having problems wants to try redownloading blockchain as a fix, try this:

BACK UP (I CANNOT STRESS THIS PART ENOUGH!!!!!!) BACK UP, AS IN: CLOSE THE WALLETS AND MOVE THESE FILES INTO A DIFFERENT FOLDER), BACK UP any files in AppData.

On Windows it's C:\Users\(user)\AppData\Roaming\bipcoin, On linux they are in ~/.bipcoin) that end in .dat

BACKUP those .dat files to a different folder, then delete them from your AppData folder

then re-start wallets and let sync and see if it fixes things.

Our dev team is going to talk to the Monero dev team later today and see if they know the solution.

Do not despair, y'all 24/7 BipCoin party people, I remember issues with Bitcoin like this early on, even like 3 years in. And CryptoNote-based coins are a rare and unique unicorn that's very different. Different commands, different rules, different behavior.

It's not that off to say that CryptoNote-based coins are almost as different from Bitcoin, as Bitcoin was from BitTorrent.

I updated my post. It has more advanced configuration settings, I copied the default ones but it just closes after writing a wall of text.

first of all, if you are using a batch file, add a line with the word pause at the end to see what the wall of text is about

I think the problem is your -c yam-bcn.cfg
Maybe its not needed as it seems to have miner info in there but you provide that at the command line as parameter

Maybe the windows 7 config does not help either. Just use -t for the threads at the end of the command line and remove the -c win64-i7-4770.cfg

Try that and lets see if it works

I assume you have replaced myaddress:x with your address? Include the :x at the end as a password. I suppose it's needed

Someone just sent me 1.2 coins, I don't know why/who.
Edit. it might be the pool

yep. I got payments too  Cool
Guess I'll start mining again

The pool seems to be up again, so you can Cool
Can anyone help me set up yam to mine? The other CPU miners don't work for me.

I haven't used it but what more setting up do you need besides the command given in the how to mine section of the pool?

The available balance is the coins that have confirmed.  If they show in the locked amount it means that they have not confirmed.  Coins start locked and then are unlocked and available after ten confirmations.

It was probably orphaned, it's happened for all six blocks that I mined today.

Well, that would figure for the first two that I was finally able to mine after being at this for days.  Thanks for the info.
