Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
I think it would be great if Mother Jones were to accept Bitcoin donations. Does anybody have any connections?

I think it would be great if you shared a link rather than a gif Wink
(Ok, granted, the gif had the correct base url already):
http://www.motherjones.com/

My bad! I recall that at the time I was debating with myself if I should include a link, link the image, or both. Somehow during the de-bating process, I must have gotten overly excited with the options, whereupon it slipped my mind.

Not at all. What I meant was is that David was probably already versed in Bitcoin, and if that's the case then Bitcoin 100 was not designed for him or any of his enterprises, hence apologizing.
Ahhh, yes now I understand. Thanks for the explanation. I am working on Neuroethics too and I certainly fully support Bitcoin! Smiley I thought the idea of Bitcoin 100 was to show that Bitcoin is used to support charities. But I guess some of that relates to convincing individual charities as to the utility of bitcoin? So Bitcoin 100 is not for charities which would already accept bitcoin - its core goal is to increase the number of charities which accept bitcoin through direct donations.  I can certainly understand and support that.

On a related note I'm trying to get MAPS to accept bitcoin as I have donated in the past but I'd rather give in bitcoin now. It's surprisingly difficult. I wonder if it would help to create a non-profit's guide to accepting bitcoins? Is there one out there?

No problem, JE, for I already put 2&2 together, but wanted to present the bad news are delicately as possible.

Thanks! Why is it bad news though? Sorry, I am confused. KO has ~2000 domains. (http://www.hedweb.com/websites/domains.htm) Back in 2001 I thought virtual currencies would be related to Chaumian blinding/digital bearer certificates rather than a P2P consensus mechanism. Is there something wrong with owning that domain?

The other example I left off, but now using since you inquired is http://lifeboat.com/ex/bios.david.pearce

What about donating to Ed Snowden? https://wikileaks.org/freesnowden

For starters, having a standalone website is probably a must.

Does the link no longer work for you? It should be up at www.neuroethics.com.

The website works fine, keystroke. I/we just feel that more information from you is desirable since Rassah raised possibly a valid point, but I wasn't too sure. I, personally, have no problem with your org. We want to just make sure there's no conflict with our supporters.

Thank you kindly for providing your post a couple posts up from this one. If anybody has any questions, be feel free to ask keystroke. I'm sure he'll address any and all concerns.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to check in again to see if it was possible to get a donation for Neuroethics (a registered 501(c)3). Is there anything I can answer to help with the decision?

It seems that David Pearce is well-versed in Bitcoin prior to starting his Neuroethics Foundation.

Just bought plain tickets, hotel, and car rental for that Altanta conference. Hope you'll be there Phinn, cause it's the ONLY reason I'm coming.

Just came back from the doctor and found out that I have a gallstone...  Grin

I'll be there, bud. I hope edd can make it so that I can pay for his ticket as well, Jason King being the other I've already sent.

Between the 3(4) of us, perhaps we can be as productive as you were in San Jose for Bitcoin 100.

I'd love to but I'll be working that weekend at my "day job".

Great! You'll back in the states just in time for CRYPTO-CURRENCY-CON 2013 in Atlanta. If so, I'll pay for your ticket. That goes the same of Jason King and edd. I'm making plans on attending.

Hats off to you, sir!

Jason and Rassah, PM me a Bitcoin address so that I can send you the I believe $180 (will verify that). If for some you cancel, simply ship the sum back to me. I wonder if edd is capable of attending. The same offer stands for him. If he doesn't go, maybe Rassah's better half may attend, whereupon I'll pay that ticket.

I hope there's TV and radio personal present, for that Autin and Beccy is a neat human interest story.

My schedule is out of town this weekend, then home for two days, and the REALLY out of town Wednesday until the following Wednesday (Oct 3rd). Hopefully I'll see some of you at the conference in Amsterdam next week, and I'll still be checking e-mails and forums, though not frequently.
