No, definitely not. I like the first one better.
I was trolling with the last graphic of course. That thing is hideous.
Are you volunteering to help us create an ad for your magazine (I hope)?
I can't give any special rates as Bitcoin 100 is not a legally registered non-profit organization with a history etc,
but I can do the design work for the advertisement for your guys (I'm also a Bitcoin 100 contributor!)
That would be great. I really don't have a knack for creative arts but would like to see this project advance. Do you have any other ideas?
Not really. Putting all my efforts into the magazine at the moment. If you guys for for an advertisement in the magazine though, I'll gladly do a design for you for the first issue.
Great, let's see what Bruno
thinks and if everyone agrees with the ad idea then we can turn design over to you.
Now I have to think. I was told that there's no thinking on this BBS. Wait! That was no math, of which I've learnt that ain't true either.
Ad idea = good. Already PM'ing "The Matt" about this and offered to pay for it out of my pocket. He'll help with the minor design issues.
About the logo. Thanks for taking the incentive. First off, hate to spring this on you all, but consider wording the name
Bitcoin 100 as two words oppose to just one. That said, I liked the orange logo until I saw the Bitcoin logo with the hands. I'm leaning toward that with some slight modifications of which I'll get to in another post. I'll use this post to take care of some house cleaning.
I would like to present the idea that Bitcoin100 place an ad in Matthews’s new magazine soliciting charities to take Bitcoin donations and explaining what we are. I don’t see that we have had a lot of success writing individualized letters. His magazine concept has, at least, as much potential to spread the word as the charity donation idea. Even if a charity decision maker does not read the magazine we have used some of the funds to support an idea which is bringing Bitcoin to the masses. I think that was one of the reasons to start Bitcoin100 in the first place. What do you think?
I think it's a good idea but a new, seperate address/account should be created to raise funds for it.
No need for a new account. I'll simply pay for it as outlined above.
Not as much house cleaning as I thought.
Logo:
I'm leaning on using the orange one as the header on the website bitcoin.org, albeit a different tag line. At the moment, I'm using "Where Every Bit Counts" but even that doesn't have to be written in stone.
As far as what Matthew suggested, there's some strength there after it gets it fine-tuned. I like the circle, the B, the hands (suggested they look odd, and my suggestion may come to color--was thinking about white, black, yellow, red, and we all know why). Again, that tag isn't right, though different. I'm thinking that if we had this logo with or without words, I would use just the logo part (no words) in the slide rotation on the home page of
Bitcoin 100.
