I noticed you guys are struggling with a design so I put some time into a logo. Use it or don't. My contribution just the same.

Nice but the hands could be more realistic.

I dig it, but I am not a huge fan of italics...makes me feel like someone is going used car salesman on me.

Here is a first try. Please let me know your thoughts/edits. I'm going to be out for a few hours so don't expect an immediate response.

Code:
Size 2 pages 1 page 1/2 page 1/3 page 1/4 page
Inside cover $1000 USD $500 USD x x x
Centerfold $300 USD x x x x
Back cover x $350 USD x x x
Article bridge $250 USD $135 USD $75 USD $50 USD $30 USD

I assume we would be in the 1/2, 1/3 or 1/4 page category.

Once we get the content figured out then maybe Matthew would thow in the design - since it is for charity and all.

But, what are we advertising again?  Do we have a web site URL/QR that we can put in the ad (not this thread - please!)?

That's what I mean. We need the motivation to continue developing and advance this project. Pressed to make the next issue we would need to move quickly to create a web site URL/QR, logo, ad copy........

Phinnaeus has mentioned that he's working on a website but I don't know how far along he's gotten. I can help with ad copy if someone else comes up with a logo.

I would like to present the idea that Bitcoin100 place an ad in Matthews’s new magazine soliciting charities to take Bitcoin donations and explaining what we are. I don’t see that we have had a lot of success writing individualized letters. His magazine concept has, at least, as much potential to spread the word as the charity donation idea. Even if a charity decision maker does not read the magazine we have used some of the funds to support an idea which is bringing Bitcoin to the masses. I think that was one of the reasons to start Bitcoin100 in the first place. What do you think?

I think it's a good idea but a new, seperate address/account should be created to raise funds for it.

Just a quick note to thank Kluge for supporting Bitcoin 100. Take a look at #200 to see what he has so kindly pledge. Feel free to follow the link from there if you happen to need a Bitcoin loan.

hehe, of course. No reason why I wold not atleast update with anything I do regarding our project here. ;p  I will crackalacka on it in the morning after I am finished with a client meeting. And then will inform the thread when all the emails are sent.  And of course, if anyone knows of any other charities that should be in the list please do add them.

Cheers,

No need to reply here stating which ones you've sent to. Just do it.
You can state it here though, so people see that there is movement, even though they don't respond yet Smiley

My bad! Good point! Was only thinking about streamlining the process, but full disclosure is better. Thank you, BTCurious for bringing this to my attention.

Great job, Rassah! (now that the wallet's empty, we can start all over again  Smiley)

I've been working on the website, bitcoin100.org.

Derek, send out 10 emails. Select from the list below. Simply keep track of what you've sent, so that you don't double send. No need to reply here stating which ones you've sent to. Just do it.

Consider this the official thread for posting your choices as to which nonprofit charitable organizations shall be reached out to in having them embed a Bitcoin donation option onto their respective websites.

I've listed the first ten, offered up by one of the users, to get your creative juices flowing. As suggestions pour in, I'll simply add them to the list. During the course of this action, I may periodically rearrange the list as well as add notes after their names.

Keep the suggestions flowing!

I think we need to step up on the speed with which we contact organizations. The answer-rate seems to be fairly low. This project needs one success to get going again, we're in stale mode right now.

I fully agree. I keep checking for responses every day. Nothing so far out of 6 Orgs. Two things I'd like to see us do. One is to further add to the list of charities so we have as many as possible. ANother will be for me to send out to maybe 10+ of them this next go.  Another option will be to go the postal mail route I first had in mind.

The charity list thread can be found here; https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin100-soliciting-names-of-nonprofit-organizations-55398

cheers,
 Derek

I sure hope someone asks me to do something with it soon...  Embarrassed
Sure, you can send it here: 1NgLdhjHfLbcVawMk4DNEv8yf9ZzzNJV6U

That was easy, right? Grin

Sent. Glad I don't have to worry about it any more.

LMAO, send a few my way. I promise to only spend them on children in need. Namely, mine.  Grin
