I believe these ico's do affect price to some extent. Like when ico companies sell funds to liquidize (usually these funds are in millions).

the huge amounts of new ICOS that arise every month could be hurting the price of bitcoin? you who think about the ICO?
ICO will not affect the bitcoin price, but bitcoin prices will affect the price of the ICO project. Because if the bitcoin price drops, it is certain that ICO will be quiet because people are panicking with the decline in bitcoin prices.

In my opinion, it's even foolish to say that carrying out ICO projects can somehow harm the bitcoin because in the process of this the ICO team takes bitcoins, which can then be exchanged for fiat and, thus, it helps to lower the bitcoin rate. Is the use of bitcoin as a means of payment not the main function of bitcoin? Artificial increase in the price of bitcoin, that is, deliberate actions aimed at raising it, are much more dangerous than using bitcoin for its intended purpose. Increasing the price of bitcoin inevitably leads to his death.

Considering people use AltCoins from these many ICOs that are launched all the time to speculate and make faster profit than with Bitcoin, I think they are hurting BTC price a bit, yes. During the ICOs the funds are gathered via BTC, but after the ICO people will hold the AltCoins, decreasing Bitcoin demand, hurting its price. With so many AltCoins options there will be less demand for Bitcoin, that is clear and immutable in a decentralized world.

Why ICOs will hurt bitcoin , even i think More good projects are must have for any market to attract more people and make large market . bcoz those project will do partnership with big brands on basis of their tech and it will help crypto market also bcoz more people will be interested in it .
only concern for people who are afraid from ICO is bitcoin dominance getting reduced and profitability also reduced , earlier they could gain x10 in a year but now bcoz of more project dominance reduced so profitability is lowered than past . but in no manner this market dip is related to ICOs .

Aws I've know, new ICO's didn't affect bitcoins value because they are not the same. What I mean is, yes maybe they are related to each other but they are different tokens nor coins. New ICO and new tokens or coins is their way to implement and intruduce to other the new coin.

I don't think it can hurt bitcoin, but somehow it affecting the bitcoin a little bit, when a good ICO coming out. the investors will diversify their investment and causing less demand in bitcoin, but in the end after they get the profit with ICO, the investors will back to bitcoin, bitcoin itself got a huge support and big transaction volume so, even with some investors diversify their investment, bitcoin will still stand strong

I don't think that it can affect the price of bitcoin. Its much riskier to put your money in ICO rather than bitcoin. So as a investors, I will still stick to bitcoin and have most of my money on it than ICO that can turn into a scam at the end. What really hurt bitcoin is the attacks from governments and regulations around the world. Plus some ICO doesn't really give that much returns as well as least say investing on bitcoin. So with that said, ICO doesn't have significant effect on the price of bitcoin.

Well actually ICOs can really affect bitcoin's price on a very positive way, like they can boost bitcoin's popularity as long as these ICOs are conducted very well and legit at its end, depending on a situation but i believe if the governments can reduce the number of fraud cases involving ICOs i think cryptocurrency will get the trust of the people once again.

I don't think that ICOs has a major impact in the price of bitcoin. tokens from ICOs are called bitcoin alternatives, but for me bitcoin has a larger impact on altcoins as we can see if bitcoin goes down all altcoins price will also go down.

from where can you conclude that ICO is affecting the price of Bitcoin?
I think that is not a problem for bitcoin, it will be the entrance for the crypto community to be able to connect with other friends
ICO uses its own coins, and is different from bitcoin

Yeah, it could probably have a impact on the price of bitcoin because investors are now shifting their funds to some ICO and would rather take the risk there (which doesn't make any sense at all) than put their money on bitcoin ecosystem.

It depends if these are new money going into crypto to buy ICOs or people using their existing ETH or BTC to buy into ICOS... Then new legit projects will benefit crypto as whole

Obviously, there's no money flowing to the bitcoin ecosystem, but you will see a lot of ICO's hitting their softcap in a matter of days which led me to conclude that people are liquidating their bitcoin and join ICO project.

Hey... I don't understand what OP is saying here, about ico pulling bitcoin down? I mean how?

It won't in anyway affect it but rather help it grow more because it is used as means of payment for the coins.

In my opinion ICO's could help bitcoin price to increase because the investors who joined ICO's and buy tokens from them will use bitcoin or ethereum which means bitcoin become more useful in that way. Bitcoin is always present if we talk about tokens from ICO's and even in trading. It hurts the people and not the bitcoin directly if the ICO is a scam or their project failed.

what is your reason, so you think that every ICO hurts price of bitcoin?

is it because many investors are investing in ICO rather than in bitcoin? I think that every ICO does not affect the price of bitcoin. and bitcoin still has the credibility to maintain its value. New altcoin cannot compete with bitcoin.

so, that's not the cause of the falling bitcoin.

How it can hurt the price of bitcoin? These ICOs are requiring btc or eth for the payment if someone's interested of investing to them. There are some ICO that are totally worthless but some are helping with real contribution to bitcoin. They are making the demand higher and that's how you can say that they are not really hurting the price of bitcoin. It only gets slashed when there's too much manipulation and selling of it.
