no technology in the world lasts for ever. bitcoin is definitely no exception here. the developers can however keep upgrading bitcoin to make it last long enough till there is simply no demand for bitcoin anymore, or because it gets replaced by something far superior. it's something that we don't know. we must enjoy bitcoin right now and benefit from its great features here and now.

When did you mean with writing "disappear"?

On the one hand, it is not a service on a server that goes offline when someone switches off the server. BTC is a decentralized network and I doubt anyone would have the technology to make BTC disappear from everywhere anytime soon.

On the other hand, your wallet could be stolen by stealers and there are fake / scam wallets that are trojans themselves that steal your BTC and therefore make the BTC you want to store in them disappear, but again I doubt all wallets in the world are scam.

You may want to check Nefario's thread in the marketplace about how to protect yourself from malicious software.

Right. It has already spread all over. It is not going to take a long time to spread every corner of the world. The price and the benefits have convinced and attracted many towards it. BTC makes life bit easier. The transaction is too fast, no third party is required. Everything is well secured. It is we who have the btc and spread among us. Lets make sure more use bitcoin by bringing them into this forum. This will keep the Bitcoin alive for ever.

Well, there are every possibility that your wallet can get hacked and therefore your coins will disappear right in a eye blink However, this can be avoided easily with simply security measures.

The entire bitcoin network disappearing is not possible.

First of all, if world would be hit by EMP so powerful to be able to disrupt every electronic device on our planet,
it would mean global economic crisis and potentially end our or economy, as banking network will be burned as well.
And bitcoin compared to standard financial networking is totally insignificant.

Secondly, I don't think EMP will be able to erase stored data on digital optical disc storage. Blockchain will most likely survive any kind of EMP better than traditional networks.

there is simply no reason for that. and also OP question doesn't even make any sense. he is just throwing some random thought out. if it was the day one of project bitcoin then you could be suspicious about whether bitcoin is a scam or not but now after all these years and seeing how it works and how huge businesses are accepting it you can't even think it.

He's asking if Bitcoin could disappear, and what would we do if we found out it's just a scam. He's understandable, and a sentence ending in a question mark is called a question if you didn't know already.

Bitcoin can disappear only if all the miners and wallets will not be used anymore, and/or in case of an energy crisis. Even one second of worldwide energy crisis could mean the end of BTC as we know it.

Bitcoin has a billion dollars market and it being used widely all over the world. Though it didn't reach to a common man yet but we can see it in every country where is internet facility. I don't even imagine that Bitcoin can disappear now after reaching to so many milestones. It is used most in remittance and gambling industry widely and is necessary part of those. Bitcoin has just to grow and more shine in future without doubts.

What do you mean by your post ? If bitcoin will be a scam ? We already seen bitcoin is not a scam. And we already know that bitcoin price is moving. There is no tendency that bitcoin will be a scam currency in the near future. Because people is now using it. And we know that bitcoin is now on demand. But if bitcoin will be a scam. Bitcoin users will panic because some other bitcoin users stocks their bitcoins in their wallets.

Bitcoin will not disappear but instead it will go more popular. Everyday there's always a new person that wants to learn about Bitcoin . The more user of Bitcoin the more the Bitcoin will stay and become stronger in the future.
