It's a good sign for bitcoin that bitcoin use to pay for bills, load and for travel in the Philippines. Now bitcoin available in offline transaction and it's going as popular as online transaction. It's very easy to pay bills on bitcoin and it's a proper way to save money and time.

Use Bitcoin for as normal currency in the Philippines Cool; you can perform bank payments, online shopping through digital currency and can use that local wallet for receiving Bitcoin and cashout into fiat. At Philippines cryptos like Bitcoin are used as a trusted mode of transaction. Smiley Smiley

The Philippines are seriously showing the world how open minded they are to blockchain technology and bitcoin. It is a good thing they are doing with their rapid adoption and use of bitcoin for day to day transactions. I seriously do hope soon enough other countries will do the same.
Hopefully it will with other countries too. I see this one as a great opportunity to spend some of our hard earned bitcoins but thinking that our btc would still grow after some time, then maybe i will still spend my fiat first and let my btcs grow first through investing it first.

That would be a good idea. Why do we spend our Bitcoins to stuff like these when we can actually use fiat easily with any transactions?  Bitcoin will worth more than the price today or even more than the ATH. So, it would be a waste of opportunity if you keep spending your Bitcoin.

You own the pen
And you have forgotten to say that we can also buy game credits like Steam and so on. this is a very good service because even if you faraway from Town you can buy anything listed there. because of these services we keep the useful of bitcoin. it's not just a waste, and it will be useful forever because many are using it.

But I wouldn't use Bitcoin to pay for anything that fiat can pay with unless it's very necessary, if I were you. Bitcoin is a provably scarce resource, don't waste it. HODL. Cool

Honestly, I get your point and I understand you somehow. It is a wise move to be practical with btc — reserving it until the right time comes (Hmm, a bull run for example) in order to make the most of it. However, hodling has a disadvantage in the long run because you don't notice that as day passed you become greedier than before. Small price increase don't bother you anymore because you always think of a of a bigger fish to come. When that big opportunity come, there are tendencies that you still want to achieve higher. Well, I don't say that not having contentment is a bad thing but too much of it is not worthy anymore, it will only eat you.

Besides, spending btc or money in general is not a waste at all because you could get goods/services in return. That was fair enough I guess Cheesy.

I had seen how the application works. Actually you can use your bitcoin here to pay bills and to buy load. But, for those who likes to earn more, it would be better to save those bitcoins especially with the price of bitcoin these past weeks is on the rise. Don't waste them to pay for bills and load. When bull run comes, you might triple your investment.

But you will certainly change your mind when the price of the currency rises Smiley
We need to spread its idea and generalize its use as a currency because it speeds up adoption.

The application and use of Bitcoin can be applied to various accesses, which is the reason why Bitcoin currently has such good charm. If the Philippine country can implement this well then it will be able to provide an extraordinary experience, this certainly cannot be separated from the role and support of the government. I hope that more countries will emulate what the Philippines has done.
Its starter from a one great wallet and now they are expanding to Thailand so I think, Thailand will also become a cryptohub place where you can easily make a small transactions. The development like this is good enough to encourage other countries to adopt cryptocurrency and i believe they can do better if they will just support cryptos.

Agree with you here on all accounts.
Just because you are physically able to pay with BTC doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the wisest idea.
If you like bitcoin as a payment way and it has low fees compared to any fiat payment method, then why not? Why isn't it wise? You can just exchange fiat into btc and pay this way. Bitcoin is a payment method too, not just an investment option as you look guys.
Also it's not a good idea to hodl bitcoin, money has to be in circulation, I don't like the fact when others are just sitting and their only care is to wait while price rises.
How come it is not the wisest idea ?
You prefer to pay with cash but let me ask you something?
Does paying with cash gives you a rebate? Does it gives you a discount?
Well if we use our local wallet it does and it also does save some time and money, How? It is so easy we could pay without leaving our house with just our phone we don't need to fall in line to pay for our bills no need to grab a taxi or what .
And if we want to pay with cash or turn our crypto into cash it would cost some withdrawal fee ,So if we want to pay with our local wallet we save our own time, energy and money by avoiding withdrawal fee and having a rebate.

The Philippines are really moving forward with their adoption and use of bitcoin. We continue to see Bitcoin usage spread across the Philippines, this clearly shows more people are accepting bitcoin usage on a dialy basis . I strongly believe we will see more growth in Bitcoin usage, not just in Philippines but in other nations.

It is so sad to see that those who have been in crypto for so long would deny it as a payment method and only see's it as an investment.
Bitcoin is not just an investment guys .

It's impressive to hear that some countries are actually adopting the use of bitcoin to make payments for bills etc. I know in the near future we would see bitcoin being used in several countries to make payment for transactions made.

Here in the Philippines we could use our local wallet called coins.ph to buy load pay for our electric, water and credit card bills and even book for travel.

Coins.ph also is a big help for filipinos abroad.. They can send their money to their families with fast transactions no hassles.. It is directly sent from coins to family members and claim it to all remittances... As of today coins.ph added western union as one among the money transfers that they are connected with... Since most of the countries that have overseas filipino workers use western union... This is advantage to them...

Here in the Philippines we could use our local wallet called coins.ph to buy load pay for our electric, water and credit card bills and even book for travel.

But how effective is this? Are you able to use this local wallet for shopping in the super-markets? Are you able to book flight tickets using this mode of payment? I researched a bit about the legality of Bitcoin in the Philippines. The good news is that it seems to be 100% legal there, unlike the situation in countries such as India and China.
if it is legal it means that it is only a matter of time for many merchants to accept crypto payment, of course it will be very effective, you can pay it with just one click or one scan. the effective key is in the number of merchants who accept it

Yeah it seems the philippines is bitcoin-friendly, quite opposite to china's stance on btc's legality. Other countries should follow suit. I mean, their central bank doesn't promote it of course but tells the people the risks they may take and what could happen. In the end, the people could choose what to do with their money. Actually a lot of countries in south east asia are already like this.

I think it is impossible to use it to buy goods on supermarkets and book some flight tickets but there are a lot of uses with the mobile application such as utility bills payment, telecom payments, government payments, insurance, and many more but paying this kind of bills using Bitcoin is not a wise idea in my opinion because it is better to hodl it for a longer period of time rather than using it as a normal currency for payments.  Cheesy
