I think that this is quite an expected process since the decrease in influence began to be noticeable even at the beginning of this year. I think that by the end of 2018, the Ethereum will take a leading position

The whole crypto market i growing and dozens of new ICOs and coins are appearing every day. So it is nothing unusual that bitcoin is losing some of its market share. Nevertheless, Lightning technology has all chance to return some of it back to btc.

NO.
BTC wont be dethroned in near future by ETH. These 2 coins or completely different.

Nevertheless if the BTC scaling problem will be solved , there will be no BTC dethroning ever.

may be the dominance of btc will be more quickly ended than already predicted. because we can see, nowadays ethereum is more developed along with the emergence of company companies that issued their own ethhereum based token. which means, ethereum has a wider market, and may be in the future, btc prices will be followed by ethereum. whether it is the ethereum that rises over the btc, or btc which drops its value to the point below the ethereum.

I think bitcoin dominance will be back soon, as the bitcoin price make big moves and value increases the dominancy will also grow but personally i like the fact that both bitcoin and alts are growing together at the moment.

Big percentage that btc will be dominate by eth in the long term eth win btc big time in terms of technology. We also see some of the ICO projects are specially create to enhance the eth.

See also chart from previous year, the result is almost its with the chart and percentage you share. I think it's a regular thing that continues from year to year and I'm sure the bitcoin dominance will continue.

Maybe if we want to force the will to end the dominance of bitcoin, it means suicide and market destruction is inevitable.

I think dominance will steadily rise when bull season starts again. Much new money will (need to) enter crypto, and most will go through BTC first. Also, once BTC starts rising again, most will put their money in there short term.

I hope with more fiat pairs this will at some point not be the case anymore. I also hope that it will not stay a pathetic race between BTC and ETH, since there are so much more great projects on the horizon.

The dominance of bitcoin is reduced due to the appearance of an increasing number of new altcoins and tokens. This is quite a normal process, but bitcoin remains the number 1 coin for capitalization.

The price of bitcoin is almost $9000 and if this will reach to $10000, we can say that the dominance of bitcoin is still works and the price were increasing up to a comfortable value, so the term end of btc is only a speculation  without basis..

It's normal that the dominance of bitcoin will go down as we were after some series of corrections. Once the bitcoin price will push at the $15k level it could a big margin against the second place Ethereum. I don't think that ethereum can overtake bitcoin for a two years span not unless bitcoin investors will abandon this technology.

I agree with you. It can be either ethereum or possibly some other network, the time will tell. But Bitcoin will always has its value as the first ever cyrptocurrency at all Smiley

If we look at bitcoin's dominance throughout the years, we can see that it is decreasing. In May 2013 btc has 94% of marketcap. May 2014 left it with 90.5%. A year later marketcap dominance was 88.5%. During May 2016 bitcoin had 81.8% of the total crypto market capitalization. One year ago its dominance decreased like crazy and went down to 53.6%. The current dominance is 38.5%. I think this info (I calculated it based on the info of historical snapshots made by coinmarketcap.com) makes it obvious that the dominance is only going down. And it's natural, because other projects become stronger.

you are correct because your unit of measurement is market cap and ETH has a fake one at that and it may successfully surpass bitcoin market cap one day.

ETH price will fall but not at the same speed as new coins are craeted so for example there will come a day when ETH is worth $10 but it has 1,000,000,000,000 circulating supply most of which is premine, fake and burnt and its market cap will be $10 trillion and that way it successfully surpasses bitcoin.

I don't believe that, how you became confident to that? Bitcoin already honored by crypto community and everyone resting on its success although there are seasons of dip.
