I think it would be great if you could pay your Taxi-drive with Bitcoin! U agree with me?

I think Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies would be a good fit for taxis, uber, left, etc. That would be another way to make use of cryptocurrencies in a very practical way.

This would also make it an everyday use for an industry like that. We probably have a long way to go to get that to happen though. It could take a while to convince that market that this is a good fit and to transition to this technology for the vehicles and drivers as well as the passengers.

It would be good for driver's safety indeed.
This is a good idea bitcoin for taxi. The thing is bitcoin price is volatile and transactions takes long to confirm. Bitcoin for taxi will surely loves by many.

Using bitcoin in taxi is not a good idea, why? Tx fees anf tx time, bitcoin transfer fee are way too high the faster yoy want it to be confirmed to more expensive its fees are, But there are other option, Litecoin, Xrp, XLM, &any other fasr and cheap tx coin can be used by taxi's or UBER & other transportation vehicles as an alternative payment

It is nice  to hear that time will come taxi driver or the operator will accept bitcoin pay.but for as of now as  a part of third world country her in the phil, people and technology not much  high tech than another progressive country like in the  america the knowledge about bitcoin is limited.so the people her will not accept pay a bitcoin, but i know time will come when this country can catch up the technology in the higher country and that is the time taxi driver or operator will accept a pay of bitcoin instead of money.

If we have a technology like Uber and Grab why not bitcoin payment, this is going to be very convenient for bitcoin holders, we all know in Japan Bitcoin is already being used in buying an airfare, so the possibility is not remote a good company that deals with this kind of technology could set up one.

Why stop with taxis and Uber. I think I want to pay my bus fare with bitcoins.

That is kind of what I was thinking...bitcoin might actually work better for bus fares where you need to travel a fairly long distance from one city to another and you know where and when you need to go at least a day in advance. In this case the payment can be made and the transaction confirmed with enough time left before making the journey to alleviate any doubts. For taxi/Uber service it might get a little more tricky if you need to use the service on very short notice and/or the fees are relatively high as a proportion of the total fare.

It would be easy to pay for taxis if someone develops a special token for it, or if you just call an uber and pay him with your bitcoin visa card, it is easy to do it, i used to do it with my bitpay card. But just paying directly with bitcoins is so difficult, because the fees would be higher than the cost of the taxi, lol.
But it is a nice idea, of course.

I can not imagine how can this happen in my country. is this possible? the majority of my country is not too many people who are implicated in bitcoin. I want to like a more enthusiastic jepan and the government responds well.

Bitcoin would be great for many things if we could just realize it. Using it as taxi payment would be great indeed, dealing with cash with a taxi driver is a hssle, and bitcoin would make that process very easy!

Yeah , this would be great but the tax fee on sending bitcoin is very uncomfortable. Really have high transaction fee.

It's a good idea, not only for taxi but also for Uber and other transport network services. It will give me a convenient way of riding these vehicles if I'm able to scan their QR code and pay them with bitcoins for my fare. As most of the time I don't want to bring too much cash. But the question is if those taxi drivers or their operators are willing to adopt bitcoin but let's say they are. This is a great start for bitcoin on transportation, next will be bitcoin for cruise!

Taxi isn't something that costs much $ so I think usually people has to have 20$ in pocket. Bitcoin is great payment way, we know it but I don't agree the fact of using it on everytime but maybe I am wrong, if it will replace paper money, then of course we all will use bitcoin for every need. But currently I think there aren't so much bitcoin fanatic and people have to use paper money in real life, so no need of bitcoin for taxi.

I agree that bitcoin can be applied for mass payment services. but the problem is not the bitcoin itself. but from government and law that tells. if there is in your place, I we are great. because here it equals none.

Using bitcoin as a payment on taxi is nice and great idea because you can easily pay it and it is very quite convinient. In addition to that, I think some taxi already start to accept bitcoin and I hope many transport vehicle will also accept bitcoin as a payment of their passenger.

I drive a taxi in Brooklyn NY and have a sign in the back saying I accept Bitcoin. Well, yesterday finally someone wanted to pay me bitcoins, we agreed on a price of .004 bitcoins but, guess what, it was going to cost him almost $6 in fees to send me $16. We had wallet settings on low fees and fees made doing the transaction unreasonable. He was using Jaxx wallet on Android phone. I was disappointed. This is a bad sign, Bitcoin is broken. He ended up paying me cash

Wow, wow wow! 6$ transaction fees just to pay a bill of $16? really? wow I had no idea that Bitcoin was actually that bad when it comes to fees. I have never used it for any service payments before so I had really no idea. I heard before that the fees were high, but this high? :O That leaves me speechless if that is really the case. I think I should look into this some more myself to better understand the fees and why that is - I cannot imagine fees are that high in all circumstances.
