The concept of BTG is ridiculous. It's basically a BTC clone business scam for someone to profit off of.  We really need to stop endorsing and supporting AltCoins that have very little difference from the major currencies. If we support these projects, then someone is going to come out with BitCoin Silver, Bitcoin Bronze, etc.

Do you know anything about a wallet for Bitcoin Gold? Just over a day from the fork isn't a great presentation...

Imagine that you will have your personal keys. And after fork you will import these keys into BTG "devs" coded wallet, never known and used before. This wallet will send these keys to BTG guys... and your bitcoins will say good-bye... They will have full access to your wallet.

Premine shows the objective of this event...

Is it? Bit shocking and alerting as well. As said, will try to keep either the wallet empty or move to other wallets. I read few posts here stating bitcoin gold will be sent the wallets where bitcoin is held. Is it so? When the bitcoin gold is going to pitch in?

that is why, you should first move your BTC to another wallet and then import the seed in an "empty" wallet to collect BTG.

"  If you have a Bitcoin (BTC) balance on Bittrex during the BTG snapshot block 491,407 occurring approximately on October 24, 3am PT (10am UTC), you will be additionally credited the equivalent amount of Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on a 1:1 basis. i.e. 1 BTC on Bittrex held during the on-exchange snapshot will get you 1 BTG.  BTC held on orders will also be credited.  Only the BTC held on your account is eligible for BTG.  Full details below."

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that about Bittrex. I was going to start to move my BTCs to another exchange. Nice!

any news about Bittrex support?
Bittrex supporting Bitcoin Gold would be pretty harsh...

hitbtc will support btc gold
Can you confirm that by giving a link, it would be helpful if you can give the entire information.
Hitbtc is becoming popular now due to the recent problem of bittrex now which they are blocking accounts for no reason, they made a statement recently but the fear will still remain, I have a friend which his account was also blocked.

Hello,

Does anybody know which wallets plan to support the Bitcoin Gold (BTG) friendly fork on October 1st? And what, if anything, should be done by the user?
I don't think that 1 Oct. Is any date because this date already get back may be the 1 November .
Here nothing is sure yet because I didn't seen anything officially about it now .
If you will try to see about the bitcoin cash then you will not found any official Wallet for the mobile users to store easily .
So here we can expect the same thing like we seen in the case of bitcoin cash .
And here the wallets which supports the  bitcoin gold will be all of them but still here in my opinion we should not put our btc at third party wallet , it will be more better to put at blockchain or at exchange yobit ( who gave bitcoin cash at first time in the cryptocurrency market , so we can trust at yobit also ).

hitbtc will support btc gold

only that one?

For all the hype around this forking coin initially there seems to be very little solid information about how it will appear to BTC holders.

I found out yesterday that their site was unavailable due to a DDOS attack.

Is this good or bad for Vanilla Bitcion?

i don't see all the hype like with cash fork, i think this one will be forgotten soon, it's just a new shitcoin that pretend to be bitcoin, it's good anyway for bitcoin, because people will buy more bitcoin to have this one

Don't you think there is also a chance that they will sell off Bitcoin just as quick once the fork has been fully confirmed to cash in on the recent rise?

Hello,

After the hardfork, if you are holding your bitcoin in your wallet and you are holding the private key of that wallet, you can collect your bitcoin gold by insert the private key into supporting bitcoin gold wallets. There are few wallets that you can use to hold your bitcoin : multibit, electrum, bitcoin core etc
Also, I believe that bittrex will support bitcoin gold and allow users to have their bitcoin gold if they have bitcoin on bittrex wallet.

nothing about bitcoin gold excite me. if you want to make money better to use your BTC to buy alt coins down by 50%+ because after the fork they will recover and earn you alot more money.

btcgold and segwit2x will not replace bitcoin

Yeah sure I’m with you man. Same thing happened with segwit2x when people went crazy during that period leading to mass investment into altcoins. That was really crazy period and I was lucky enough to hold most of the good coins. Same thing will happen this time as well. Just look at the current graph, all the alts are down and on top of that bitcoin is moving down again. That’s crazy drop due to panic sell. Wait and watch what happens in next two days.

There are I think a few of the exchanges that announced they are supporting Bitcoin Gold, but I'm sure the other exchanges might support them but will be giving the free coin slightly delayed just like what happened with Bitcoin Cash. A few of the exchanges I know that support the altcoin are HitBTC, Binance and Bittrex.
