Bitcoin has no competition because most exchanges provide crypto to crypto trading and fiat pairs are not easily available because many countries do not approve of this.
Absolutely true talk without mistake. I still wonder after how significant bitcoin has proved itself to the world, there will still be people to doubt the rulership of bitcoin. To me is final and nothing else. I always say that the rising of bitcoin really gives hope to all coins. Can't you relate that the recent red sea of bitcoin has affected almost all coins. And that to me is the power of bitcoin. No, no no competitor.
Bitcoin has been steadily losing market cap dominance, from 90%+ just two years ago to ~80% today.
When it comes to exchange dominance it's just 66.4%.
This trend will probably continue and in a few years there will be people using cryptocurrencies that do not know what bitcoin is.

All those FUDsters that where saying year ago how Bitcoin would fail because another currency would take over get proven wrong year after year. The more time Bticoin is alive, the stronger it gets and the bigger the network effect. Sorry but there will not be a Bitcoin 2.0. Bitcoin will go to 100k+ per coin in the next 5 to 10 years, it will absorb all the value researched in the field if not directly through protocol improvements then through sidechains.
Bitcoin will remain the only solid coin. The only coin that survived for the longest time (other coins can't claim this unless they invent a time machine).
There will be alts that pump really hard and make people millionaires, but no alt is going to surpass Bitcoin's strength and solidity. No coin will get a bigger marketcap. In the long term people holding 21+ BTC will be rewarded by history with rich-tier status for seeing the value in it before most people did. Do not let the FUDsters trick your mind or the trolls try to derrail the excellent job being done by Core devs.
Let's continue then our path towards inevitable triumph.

I will agree that bitcoin has no competitor, because bitcoin is the first regestered digital money currency since it was created and can be trace back to the year 2009. And until now the popularity of bitcoin are still exist. And a lot of progressive country's adopt and welcome bitcoin as legal.
Competition is always there, many people see bitcoin price is very high or became successful and they wanted to grow their money so they create new coin that competent to bitcoin someday.
Absolutely agree with you. Bitcoin at the moment is the most reliable crypto currency, which will always be the first in the crypto currency market. But this does not mean that some of the altcoins can not be on par with bitcoin.
Bitcoin has no competition because this was created and invented to be useful and helpful so many people will get benefits for it and if there are one who compete it then i assure that it can't win for it. 
For a long time bitcoin has not been able to revive a competitor. Bitcoin will remain in the minds of people, the father of all crypto-currencies. We couldnt say that because now cryptocurrencies was getting broad and there is some company that making crypto for their own project ,so after so many years there is some token that can be near in bitcoin.
It could be near but for me for some next years there won't be any coin that could come even close to bitcoin, it has to many supporters to be beated by any coin or anything else.Bitcoin has no competition in the market of coins till date, thousands of coin come and go but bitcoin is still as it is at number one coin, no doubts it faces the ups and downs of the market but no damage is there to its position, if we compare with other coins difference of the second best coin is to much and we can say with this difference that coin cannot compete with bitcoin.
There is no doubt that bitcoin is the leading crypto in the world. You might have noticed that most altcoins are dependent on bitcoin. Usually when the price of bitcoin goes up, most altcoins also shoot up and vice versa.
There are many cryptos who are being launched and developed that might compete the bitcoin technology , but they can not surpass ,what bitcoin have already establish in the world of cryptocurrency, bitcoin is still the big thing in the digital world and still gaining popularity ,even for those new introduced altcoins in the market,so we say they can not compete strongly with bitcoin.

Bitcoin indeed has no competition because it as the highest market cap and volume than any other digital currencies. In as much as it has reduced in price you can still see that it rules the market with its dominance over all the altcoins.
Competition is a good thing, without better and better alt coin, bitcoin will not have technically evolve much. Now that a lot of altcoin are also aiming to be use as currency it push the developpement of bitcoin. Altcoin is a really large term that for some include all other coins except bitcoin... To that definition I can understand that a lot of ppl are sceptic on altcoin
