lets just say that altcoins are not actually the competitions but are children of bitcoin, maybe there will come a time that the bitcoin itself will be the main access to its monetary value but altcoin will be the way to acquire bitcoin. Today, ofcourse altcoin compete with bitcoin but i think there is a possibility that this will happen some time in the future.
Right now yes Bitcoin does not have any competition, but near future, i believe altcoin such as Ether, Neo, Eos can give bitcoin hard time, as they rapidly improving their tech and transaction, however, ETH can easily take over bitcoin if they are on right path few years.

based on your comments above , you are actually saying that bitcoin do have a lot of competitors but you said on your first sentence that bitcoin does not have any competition .in my own view , i think bitcoin will remain superior because it is the main currency and other coins like altcoins , cannot re worked it anymore .
I think it is impossible, the predictions that call bitcoin will be replaced just like the usual issues, But also i will say that bitcoin has competition with all other crypto currencies.
Yeah, it looks like that, but with a small print: Ethereum has a good reputation, too. It isn't as pricey as BTC, but its blockchains and smart contracts are increasingly becoming commonplace, so in some way it IS a competition, anyway.
yes you are right since the emergence of bitcoin until now there are no coins that can rival bitcoin. bitcoin remains the number one coin in cryptocurrency. there are no coins that can rival bitcoin prices. and I think that until the next few years bitcoin will still be the number one coin. because there are no altcoins that have prices like bitcoin.
Yes Bitcoin has no competition at the moment and there is no cryptocurrency that has been introduced competitive enough to challenge it so it is a giant among many other crypto currencies and definitely it will be the same in the future because Bitcoin is still leaning to adapt with the business community which can makes it more valuable in the future when it adapt into more businesses

That is right. Until now, bitcoin has no real competition in the crypto world but things can change in the future so lets see what will be next. I'm sure even if a real competitor appears to face bitcoin reign it will be super difficult to overthrone bitcoin as the capital will be bigger and bigger with the years passing by.
Of course Bitcoin has stayed on the number one position since its inception and appears to have no tight competitor on the market. With Ethereum which shows a direct competition with Bitcoin, it has to achieve another same market volume before it catches up with Bitcoin, thus, Bitcoin's market cap is twice more than that of Ethereum.

In crypto world community support is the main reason for success of coin as this increases market demand. Bitcoin have also gone through several hard situation but soak all those pressure over time very effectively. i believed that then and thought no coin could overcome bitcoin. well since mining bitcoin is done by special mining equipment only good for bitcoin this argument is invalid. seems to me that bitcoin has to be the better coin, which is maybe just a question of time until some better coin comes along.

Definitely and it is such a shame that sometimes some members within this forum would want to compare bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies especially ethereum. I just don't get it, just because ethereum is doing good on the market does not mean it can overtake the King of cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin shall forever be the most priceless digital currency on the market.
Absolutely looking at the pace at which BTC is running and snot seeing any potential coin to overtake it now bitcoin indeed has no competitor.

The more time goes by, other projects will play a bigger part in the whole market and there will be more traiding pairs than just with BTC.
The main advantages of bitcoin before other crypto-currencies is its maturity. It is the very first, the most famous and the most widespread. Any currency, if it is not tied to some material values, is a purely speculative instrument, the value of which is only in that, that people agree or are forced to use it to exchange for goods or services. As soon as public consent for using this particular instrument is lost, its value becomes zero.
All those FUDsters that where saying year ago how Bitcoin would fail because another currency would take over get proven wrong year after year. The more time Bticoin is alive, the stronger it gets and the bigger the network effect. Sorry but there will not be a Bitcoin 2.0. Bitcoin will go to 100k+ per coin in the next 5 to 10 years, it will absorb all the value researched in the field if not directly through protocol improvements then through sidechains.
Bitcoin will remain the only solid coin. The only coin that survived for the longest time (other coins can't claim this unless they invent a time machine).
There will be alts that pump really hard and make people millionaires, but no alt is going to surpass Bitcoin's strength and solidity. No coin will get a bigger marketcap. In the long term people holding 21+ BTC will be rewarded by history with rich-tier status for seeing the value in it before most people did. Do not let the FUDsters trick your mind or the trolls try to derrail the excellent job being done by Core devs.
