All other cryptocurrencies are competition in a way but they are not actual threat to the Bitcoin. That just makes Bitcoin stronger but I think that it would be good to have at least one more crypto with high potential to achieve Bitcoins success. Maybe Etherum is the answer?
True all cryptocurrencies are competition and there have some good benefits if you are going to choose one which one is your going to invest with you bitcoin but for me ethereum is one of the best altcoin so far where you can easily sell and buy it and it has a high price in exchange website!!

there is always a competition somehow for everything and i think bitcoin can also have some competition too. but nothing that comes to mind these days. because most of the alternative cryptocurrencies are just too bad to be considered as a valid competition to something as big and good as bitcoin.

Absolutely false with over 740 cryptocurrencies it's quit hard to compete and stay in top position because all coins have its importance. But not all coins are so famous and used by many people but atleast 10 to 20 coins are capable of competing with bitcoin.

Bitcoin has no competition indeed it's existing for quite a while now and build up a nice foundation. For bitcoin to die or to be hurt there has to be a very big other currency I think bitcoin can actually take over fiat even in the future.

Though there are no other currencies online or we can say digital currencies that can compete with bitcoin right now but it still does not seem to be realistic to say that bitcoin will take over fiat, because in compared to the users of fiat bitcoin community is too small, so they wont let it happen at first place.

In cryptocurrency bitcoin doesn't really have any competition cause bitcoin is the biggest and there is no reason for people to jump the train to another crypto. Later on bitcoin will probably get competition though.
I think your wrong that bitcoin has no competition almost all currency online is his competition.
If there is no compitation and bitcoin is the one the price right now is not high and i think the price is still be the same as local currencies..

I think you are right bitcoin do not have any competitors, as bitcoin is a bigger crypto currency and most people want to put their money in bitcoin and are using it as a currency while other coins are only used for trade,

You are right, now bitcoin is going to be a normal currency and a number of people have adopted it as a currency for their purchases, while all other currencies are for trade only their developers are not going to provide services with them.

Bitcoin has always been a currency. Same goes up for the investment aspect of Bitcoin. Bitcoin can be seen as a mult-purpose tool that offers features for the majority of the people. I say majority because there is no way to please all people.
There is a people is saying if bitcoin is not a currency?that's a very bad logic and the main purpose of bitcoin has become an alternative currency. we don't know if in this time bitcoin will have multiple purposes.
yes bitcoin created to compete with currency so it is not design to compete with alt and beside all alts are just relying
to btc price so how can they compete with their origin.
bitcoin is a cryptocurrency not like ordinary currency, bitcoin have so many advantages in digital world but could be easily beaten when it comes to real world, the ordinary currency having some sort of advantages in real world or call it offline because it was designed for this, actually altcoin could compete with bitcoin even it's still relying to bitcoin price

I disagree with that how can a coin compete a currency as all other altcoins do not have bigger companies as supporters and if have then only one or two and with that these altcoins can be beaten any time, while bitcoin has a wider market cap and have a large number of companies who are supporting for and are relying on it for their business.

Yeah, the competition in the digital currency will not be able to penetrate in the bitcoin. Because the bitcoin already has a very strong foundation and all existing altcoin is as a complement to strengthening growth bitcoin. So it is not true. Bitcoin will remain a leading digital currencies and will never be replaced by existing altcoin

True that the bitcoin has a strong foundation but anyways it can be broken because if other currency does it better and faster with more benefits then why would people stay with bitcoin.
It all depends on the competition itself it bitcoin will die or not.

I don't know....Things are changing and they're changing very quickly.  I think that it's important to keep up with technology if one wants to remain competitive.  Bitcoin has a solid foundation true....But, quantum computing is here (D-Wave) and networking analytics is becoming more and more understood as each day passes.  Furthermore, some of these new technologies are changing the very structure of how network transactions are handled.  Autonomous tokenized economic platforms are emerging that weren't even imagined a year ago.  Bitcoin is the grandfather in this space, for sure, but I think the community might be underestimating the utility of the emerging blockchain networks and the amount of money that is willing to be risked in the name of innovation.

Bitcoin doesn't necessarily have no competition. Most altcoins were created with the intent of having the same level as Bitcoin. Every dev wanted their coin to inflate until they reach the price of Bitcoin. Unfortunately, instead of being a competition to Bitcoin, altcoins are becoming another reason to increase Bitcoin's price.

Of course, if we take into consideration other currencies, it doesn't seem to have a high probability that Bitcoin loses. However, we must not forget that anything we say about the future is a mere prediction. We can't even imagine what is waiting for us there.
And maybe bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency will lose, because of IT development. For instance, some say that quantum computer will kill bitcoin.
Yes, and at least for today the quantum of computer are still seldom, and the price of quantum computers are very expensive. And i think it will need long time until there are many quantum computers on markets.

Bitcoin will be the king of crypto currencies for years to come, but there will be certainly space for other good coins in the market, coins like Litecoin, monero and Etherum has a lot of users and have a maket value, but i dont think so it will cross bitcoin for now,but anything is possible in the future ,you never know life is unpredictable.
That is just an alternative currency and a lot of their users is a trader and finally, if we get a profit in there and the ending they're wanna for exchanging their coin into bitcoin... they are wanna for using another coin like monero,LTC and ETH is caused by bitcoin.

True those alternative alts are just somehow dependent to bitcoin and  it would surely not  surpassed bitcoin on the future but  well see since we dont know the future. In face  those altcoin would  somehow developed and would not depend  on bitcoin anymore with that situation bitcoin would possibly have a competition.

Some big companies are going to experiment on the Etheruem block chains, one example is the Banco Satander. So bitcoin has competition.

Experiments are always good..! It always can bring new idea, but Bitcoin project is a bit more far that can be some Ethereum or other altcoin.. talking for pumping price is always good for speculants.. Wink Anyway at the end ETH will go down. Sorry, but that is the true!

Experiments could learn you  a lot from it! It is nice to  experiment things because you know in the end you can get something out of it Cheesy . Regarding to ETH why did you said that it will  go down? I dont have any idea why it will go down. Any reasons? Any speculations from it?

Yeah I agree and of course there may be developed a totally new currency which will be faster and provides more security and in that case it may take over the place of BTC but it's all speculative as we don't know if it will happen or not.But for sure there are possibilities for it to happen

I expect bitcoin to rule the crypto currency market for at least another five years, like it does at the moment.
Unless something unexpected happenes, that would only affect bitcoin, not the other currencies, such as a fork.
But one day, who knows. Maybe another currency comes up that has a ver big supporter. Maybe a bank, or even a government.

All those FUDsters that where saying year ago how Bitcoin would fail because another currency would take over get proven wrong year after year. The more time Bticoin is alive, the stronger it gets and the bigger the network effect. Sorry but there will not be a Bitcoin 2.0. Bitcoin will go to 100k+ per coin in the next 5 to 10 years, it will absorb all the value researched in the field if not directly through protocol improvements then through sidechains.

Bitcoin will remain the only solid coin. The only coin that survived for the longest time (other coins can't claim this unless they invent a time machine).
There will be alts that pump really hard and make people millionaires, but no alt is going to surpass Bitcoin's strength and solidity. No coin will get a bigger marketcap. In the long term people holding 21+ BTC will be rewarded by history with rich-tier status for seeing the value in it before most people did. Do not let the FUDsters trick your mind or the trolls try to derrail the excellent job being done by Core devs.

Let's continue then our path towards inevitable triumph.

We should not be overconfident, I believe that the bitcoin will have a good market share in next 10 years (yes it will sustain current market share) but since it is still evolving and new alternative currencies are being introduced, there will be good competition for the bitcoin but still bitcoin will sustain its share even though we are experiencing turbulence in price as well as market share. Bitcoin will gain its position in one of the major payment option in the mainstream financial world.

Yes, I think so. There would be many altcoins developed and existed but their value were always based on bitcoin price.  We know that bitcoin is the first digital currency.  I can say that all the design and program of digital currencies were patterned to bitcoin.
BTC is somewhat the base for all other currencies developed and also BTC has it's own community developed and retailers using it and the blockhain and people who know about it so it will be harder for any other currency to overtake it's place but that's not to say that can't happen

All coins that exist are trying to compete bitcoin. if they don't exist, bitcoin most probably have more value than how much it is today. just look at how much is the marketcap to the rest of those below bitcoin. if bitcoin goes down, someone else's coin will replace and sure its a competitor. it may even have better features like ETH.
