I think that bitcoin is already an global currency because bitcoin is available in every country as long as they have internet connection. Furthermore, few countries are now adopting bitcoin such as japan and soon every country will legalize it also in their country.

Some countries has good internet connection but they do not accept bitcoin, they banned bitcoin for some reasons. We can't blame them because there are things that they don't really want to happen. The thing is, we know that bitcoin is good asset and it helps the country's economy, the government still has the decision of accepting bitcoin, or not.

Global according to you it's mainstream usage. Same has different meaning, usage and acceptance all around the world. So in my opinion though it haven't gone mainstream, one or the other way it has became a global currency. You could convert to bitcoin in any nation's currency as well can use In most of the countries where only the country's own traditional fiat is accepted.

Being a global currency means to be able to be used instantly worldwide and an easy access, though bitcoin is used globally for me it cant consider yet as a global currency for it cant conveniently used. But soon btc can be access instantly.

I can only read this as "According to my very limited knowledge and experience, Bitcoin can't do anything." Okay I'll admit that bitcoin is a currency that's currently being used only by maybe even less than 1 million. But we're just starting. It wouldn't take much for the userbase to blow up once major countries start recognizing bitcoins. Bitcoin can be a global currency because everyone can access it, everyone can look at the transaction history, and everyone can use it even when the government says no to it.

The majority of people are inclined to use cryptocurrency as well since most of us are already using Paypal. Newcomers don't have to understand the technical part of bitcoins, they only have to use it in order to experience it's advantages.

And because bitcoin is still an infant compared to gold and fiat, it clearly has a lot of ways to go before it becomes a universal currency where it will be readily acceptable, much like what the status of the dollar is right now.

not only japan , at the same time russia reported legalizes bitcoin as currency too.

and it is just make the cryptocurrency market went crazy in the last three weeks , going up and down so fast leading to people curiousity and it is also make the demands keep increasing day by day. and of course more merchants available to accept bitcoin around the world.

Can it really become THE global currency when there is only 21million available? I guess the only way it would be possible is when satoshi start having a much higher value and the adoption of charging in satoshi. But what happens when 1 satoshi is worth more than a loaf of bread or pint of milk?

To be a global currency is certainly not an easy thing. I recognize bitcoin is still very far away to be able to reach it, but chances are it will always have a look at the potential of bitcoin in the future?

You are looking at the current situation, bitcoin is still young so it's early to conclude what it can only do, we have a future and you have to believe that bitcoin is going to influence people's interest to use bitcoin especially when it is fully endorse by bitcoin companies and more if the government itself will have a good feedback on it.
