Well, its a long run for bitcoin to become a global currency.US dollars has been enjoying the position as global reserve currency since last seventy years. It has gained its importance since petrol rich countries started to sell crude oil only for dollars. We could buy any thing with dollars all over the world. But bitcoin has just crossed its initial stage of eight years.Legalization of bitcoin has just started now in some countries. So it would take more time for bitcoin to become a global currency.
Your right, in terms of global used bitcoin can be used anywhere, but some countries might not have knowledge on it yet, and it will be hard to replace dollar since it have physical item and value. But in usage bitcpin have many to offer.

For the first time, when I look at the offers on LocalBitcoins.com, there are a half-dozen currencies ahead of the US dollar, offering a higher price for Bitcoin than US dollar users.

Euros, South African Rands, New Zealand Dollars, Hong Kong Dollars, Polish Zloty, Malaysian Ringgits.

It is no longer just the US, EU or even China driving adoption.  There is a market for Bitcoins in major countries all over the world.
The continuous growth of the users of bitcoin also affects the influence of bitcoin as one of the strongest currency. We all know that bitcoin is very popular nowadays and many people are so in to it because of the possibility that they may earn large amount of money without any government interferance. Bitcoin does not have a specific country to whom it belongs that's why it's considered to be a global currency but still it's not yet legalized to all the countries. If ever it will be legalized, there will surely be some change in price and will most likely push bitcoin in to more innovation.

I don't really think bitcoin is becoming GLOBAL currency, the thing is bitcoin is capped at 21M and there are 7.5B people on earth. If everyone gets a portion of bitcoin, that portion is too small for transaction fee.

Well, as someone post above, bitcoin still a global currency. The reason is that the price of bitcoin is unstable, which make money for investors. And from the time Satoshi invented bitcoin, its value has skyrocketed over time that attracts people invest in it.

Even if it a global currency on paper, the actual percentage of worldwide users shows a different picture. We have very limited reach in most of the countries of the world and thus it means the scope for the future is tremendous. Yes, I agree that we won't have a similar number of users in every country but at least, we can expect that 30% to & 70% of the total population would be using Bitcoin in every country in next 10 years.

Certainly, bitcoin is becoming a world wide currency, and will grow bigger in the future. Half of the places I go now, all except bitcoin.  Wink I guess that's a good thing for us investors. BTC
I agreed on you, in fact it is not just becoming a worldwide currency but it is already a worldwide virtual currency in the whole world actually. Moreover, in some places of Japan and China bitcoin declared as their legal currency.

Yes, I like trough
Because bitcoin  has popularity in all the countries  of the world.
Of course bitcoin is now the global currency of the world. With it's characteristics that it can convert any currency in the world and it can use anywhere we want. Bitcoin is different any currency that why many of us are already use and continue to embraced what is good about bitcoin. We need a money that can use anywhere we want to use, buying goods and paying for services bitcoin is the answer to this and there are places that already accepted bitcoin as payment.
As bitcoin is getting more popular more businesses are now also using bitcoin.
I would say it's becoming a global currency now as anyone who knows how to use it has the chance to use and enjoy
the benefits of using it. This is quite a unique currency because most people also viewed this as an investment.

Yes I also think that bitcoin is becoming a worldwide currency and more people are interested to know about it, how they can treat it.
In addition to your answer bitcoin is slowly spreading over the world and the number of bitcoin who used it getting higher. For me I can consider it as a global currency because of its uses right now.

Technically, we can all consider Bitcoin to be a global currency since it is not being limited into a certain geographical region. Right now, in almost all countries there are people who are into Bitcoin even in countries where the government declared Bitcoin to be illegal as transactions can be done anonymously. Soon, there is a big possibility that Bitcoin can explode further and we can a big rush of new people entering into the Bitcoin marketplace.

The drastic influence of bitcoin to people is becoming a phenomena which attract most of the country in the world to set it as their currency. The fact that bitcoin grants you your needs and wants may be one of the reason why people are getting so in to it. You cannot ignore the news that is widely spreading which is bitcoin can make you rich. So no doubt it would sooner be a currency for all.

Bitcoin is a global crypto currency, but it can not displace ordinary money or gold. This currency is a new format and it will co-exist with ordinary and precious metals.

I'm not sure if bitcoin becomes global currency. It needs legality between countries to do just that. Because bitcoin itself is not yet legal. Maybe bitcoin is not banned in some countries only bitcoin yet legal. Bitcoin just as an investment as gold .. which you can save and then you will benefit.
It could be a global currency on its own nature, it cannot compete the legal currency which the government has build for its citizen, it's more global since there is no one who can control it and it's limited supply is very appealing to investors so we will definitely see a growing adoption.
As of now, the value is really good and that is the result of the increasing demand and its popularity, it will continue so let's be optimistic with that.

I'm sure bitcoin will never be a currency, one of the mandatory conditions for being a currency is stable, like gold, used to be gold and silver as currency because of its stable value, but bitcoin is so unstable, that's what makes bitcoin will not Could once be a currency
Could be like that. There are still many negative things that bitcoin has, and maybe the government just sees it from bitcoin. Besides bitcoin also trigger the occurrence of money laundering. But bitcoin will probably control the digital currency sometime in the future, and it will exceed paypal
