Currently it may be true that bitcoin is not number one because of the number of developers who can make their own coins and dominate bitcoin in the market and that's the threat why bitcoin may not be number one for good.
I would enjoy seeing a real flippening, but either way I don't mind. I just want to see crypto succeed long-term.
i ve seen crypto- currencies come and go bout the bitcoin is still here. And but it would be fixed.
There are better projects, better system and ideas. But bitcoin was the the first crypto, so he has advantage. Same situation with etherium and neo. Neo is better but etherium was first! But I agree that is not for long time!

I am even sure of it! Bitcoin will remain number one cryptocurrency for at least several years. Too many people believe it and trust it to pick another coin as the best one Ethereum, however can become a leader as well once.
Bitcoin is not number one, maybe sooner or later if a scaling solution is about to take effect. Blockchain was stuck due to spam attacks or increased bitcoin users make transactions per day increased significantly. If this is sustainable it may exceed the bitcoin by market capitalization.

Well up until now and even with the downward trend of Bitcoin, it is still the number one cryptocurrency. Bitcoin actually made way for all other digital currency there is and it is still the number one because it has already proven that it can rise above all the challenges and its technology is for the future.
That might be true because the value of bitcoin is keep decreasing. If bitcoin is still losing value, ther are other digital currency that will beat bitcoin. And if that happen, bitcoin will be still famous. Because bitcoin is th foundation of all other digital currency.

If you notice then there is a coin that continues to increase marketcap, the coin is ethereum, a year ago marketcap ethereum no more than 15% of bitcoin, but today marketcap has reached more than 60%, and if the increase of ethereum continues to happen then within 2 years will be defeat ethereum. I thought for sure it would take until the end of 2018 but it looks like this summer ethereum might pass it up. With the turmoil around BTC potential splitting, it might be very soon. IMO this is healthy, we will always value bitcoin for being the one that started it all, but it's time for a more dynamic and adaptable currency to take the lead.
Well, even if ethereum is at number 2, it's still too far from bitcoin. Bitcoin is too far too be reached because a lot of people are trusting bitcoin. Bitcoin has gone through a lot and it still remained number 1 because a lot of people trust it. It will just keep growing as time goes by.
I only see Ethereum getting surpassed by another altcoin like EOS and not going up. EtherDelta is also one of the reasons why you won't want to use Ethereum because if it is then it is already number one. Bitcoin will remain no.1.
For me, Ethereum and all other altcoins still rely on the market and bitcoin prices. Therefore I do not agree that bitcoin will be replaced by other crypto currencies. At least in the near future bitcoin will last long using the first used and valuable crypto currency.

The possibility of ether being the number one currency does exist, but I do not have any confidence it will happen.
