That may be true. But I do not believe Ethereum will last long. Sooner or later the price has to go down just because that's what the market is doing. The number of unconfirmed transactions might have decreased, but as the user-base expands, this issue can once again become active. And other crypto-currencies such as Ethereum and Ripple are making the maximum advantage out of this situation.

Given that I'm not an ethereum supporter, you should save that bullshit for someone else.At the end of the day its always going to be a matter of opinion whether ETH (or BTC) is in a bubble and only time can tell.

Many coins might be potential than bitcoin but to my understanding i fell bitcoin is the first crypto currency coin so there may be chances its rank never decreases but we need to think again because coin value is based on the demand and supply not only with the assumptions.

Remember that the most valuable things are not always the best.the blockchain is congested because of either spam attacks or increasing users of bitcoin making the transactions per day increases significantly. If this continues maybe the ethereum will surpass bitcoin by terms of market capitalization

You just wrote exactly what I wanted to write. ETH and BTC were never in competition as a currency. They both have completely different features which make it stupid to compare them.In fact Ethereum is more decentralised mining wise than bitcoin, it is more programmable and it is more adaptable to changes.

Well there is a possibility of bitcoin losing its powerful spot as number one crypto. Everything has its time. There are a lot of potential cryptocurrencies in the market that may surpass bitcoin in right time.

I thought for sure it would take until the end of 2018 but it looks like this summer ethereum might pass it up. With the turmoil around BTC potential splitting, it might be very soon. IMO this is healthy, we will always value bitcoin for being the one that started it all, but it's time for a more dynamic and adaptable currency to take the lead.

Well, even if ethereum is at number 2, it's still too far from bitcoin. Bitcoin is too far too be reached because a lot of people are trusting bitcoin. Bitcoin has gone through a lot and it still remained number 1 because a lot of people trust it. It will just keep growing as time goes by.
People bought bitcoin not because they trusted him. Many of the investors have no idea about how it appears and how it functions. What confidence is there. They simply laid out their funds in bitcoin, as others quickly became enriched from buying bitcoin. If there is another crypto currency. which will yield the same profit, people will immediately "trust" her and forget about bitcoin. Therefore, for that. so that bitcoin has long remained the number one crypto currency, it needs to constantly improve and be really a leader in terms of convenience and cheapness of its use.

I think it is not true. Bitcoin will be no.1 cryptocurrency forever. There is no altcoins that can beat bitcoin, People will still continue to patronize bitcoin. Bitcoin will become international currency in the near future.

if this division really manifests, and we certainly can not know the true effect of bitcoin split if it will be better or worse, but I think we should be ready for the upcoming division and if the date of the division will occur.

This might be a beginner's question, but how is Eth more dynamic than Bitcoin? Doesn't it have a similar system with similar issues?

It is sad to say but this is something that we should set ourselves ready for. Bitcoin is not doing good ever since the year started. Although we can say that sooner or later it would dominate all the other cryptocurreny but still we can't predict if it would really happen. Maybe it's time to invest on other cryptocurrency so that we can keep on earning when the time comes that bitcoin is already down completely.

I agree. Bitcoin has come up very fast and now we are suffering the consequences wherein its value is falling down. Ethereum had a great year too last time and now it is showing its potential to take over bitcoin for a bit. I hope that more innovations would be made with bitcoin so that it may maintain its position and stay on the top for a longer time as it dominate once again.

Like always the number 1 of its kind will remain the king. Think about Coca Cola. Even if there are hundreds of fake ones, maybe even tastier, it common known as a Coke!

And peolple also rember the second one: Pepsi .

Coca Cola is the Bitcoin, Pepsi is Ethereum.

True, bitcoin can not be the number one hold in the cryptocurency world competition, but we do not know when it will happen. From the beginning bitcoin appears to offer new things like anonymous and decentralized properties, but bitcoin should be able to provide a more dynamic service feature keeping abreast of current technological developments.

So far, bitcoin seriously nothing to fear. He has a sufficient reserve of community trust and a decent gap in value. However, what will happen next, we'll see.nalyzing the future of bitcoin performance I strongly believe that Bitcoin will stay as Number One for long.

Sounds possible but I dont think etherium will come up to over take the first place. But lets just hope for full recovery of bitcoin who knows maybe next month bitcoin will pump up again. A part of me says yes to adapt a new coin to take the lead. But how could that be? The fact that bitcoin is limited. How could the developer make a crypto currency that is not centralized like bitcoin and not also fabricated or reproducible?

It is possible to see that it is rising now, and without a good system of control, its fragmented market can become cluttered, reducing the value of bitcoin's investment.
