Leaving sentiments asides, will you advise someone to still buy some Bitcoins (Not up to the value of 1)  if they have an amount of money that will be okay to purchase the equivalent of 1 of a good altcoin with a strong community? Is having some bitcoins (in decimals) more valuable still than having the value of one good altcoin?

Its got to be bitcoin. Without any doubt. In a bull market you'll have more profit with bitcoin than altcoins.
Bitcoin is like the SI unit of crypto. If bitcoin isn't performing well then other coins are not performing well and bitcoin can be performing well while other coins may not be performing well.
As a beginner, before you invest in altcoin, you have to carry out a lot of research to be sure which would be profitable to you. we've seen cases where an altcoin multiples x3 within twenty four hours but you need to know which. So since you don't know which or not sure which its best you stick to bitcoin.

Hodling is a btc nutjob cult thing, if you want to earn profit you have to sell.

BTC price can only multiply at a maximum of ~5X the peak in a given 5 year cycle.

Altcoins due to their lower price have a higher multiple of ~10X to ~50X capacity in a 5 year cycle.

Traders know altcoins is where the maximum profit$ are located.

So you only need to decide are you a trader interested in earning profit$ or a BTC Cult member that hodl just because the cult says so.  Smiley

Bitcoin investors and holders are basically for profit, and it is impossible to hold it all the time. In an extreme situation, if Bitcoin believers keep holding Bitcoin and do not make any transactions, Bitcoin has already become history .

If you are saying about choosing a profitable investment route rather then loss road then definitely bitcoin is the right choice for you ahead and advice will always be the same to anyone. As you have said the altcoin with great community support so you can specify about it? With the amount you can get good amount of altcoin but you will not get any return in the future so are you willing to block your amount in them? If the choice is between btc and altcoin then definitely bitcoin is the answer.
I think cryptocurrency enthusiasts need to understand there will be no other coin like Bitcoin no matter how promising it may look. For the record, all altcoins are hype based and also highly manipulated.
No matter the great community support any altcoin had 99% of the altcoin supporter are enthusiasts of Bitcoin and this is the reason why I never agree with the statement of not keeping all eggs in one basket when we talk about cryptocurrency investment.
If there is someone who keeps his assets in one basket then it is a wrong record that he does not understand about diversifying the assets he is running.

And we always think the same about bitcoin that this is the only coin above the price of the rest of the altcoins that have hype that is made by the owner or the community but in reality many beginners get caught up in altcoins because of the FOMO they have heard so far, so it's not there is nothing better than Bitcoin I do not believe altcoins as a safe asset but a momentary profit and the rest will be garbage in the market.

If you want to look at the best, it's clear that bitcoin is superior to altcoins, since the OP's question concerns "Bitcoins or altcoins". So I try to adapt the narrative to the OP's statement, although there are also those who use altcoins as short-term investments. Bitcoin can also be used like an altcoin buying pattern, by buying gradually according to the ability of the capital you have, even though the profit is smaller and if you use it long term with gradual purchases it will be more profitable for bitcoin.
At least this is what I have been doing for the past year.
And since the OP didn't give details regarding the person's goals, I don't think I can give the same answer to the different people.
I answer like that cause I've experienced it. In 2017 my friend asked me if it was better to buy Bitcoin or altcoins. I said Bitcoin. Then he said "but we can't get quick profits huh?".
Long story short, a few months later he came to me and showed off his profit from buying LISK tokens. What can I say?

That's what I said; the answer depends on each person's target/mission.

It's better to buy Bitcoin even in small amounts than to buy altcoins that can be obtained in larger quantities than Bitcoin even though the altcoins have a strong community because in price they will always follow Bitcoin. Furthermore, the decision is up to each of us in choosing and every decision is very dependent on the ability of the money we have. Even better if we can afford both.

I know Bitcoin is the best, but this case is a little different. I'll try to explain what I mean with a simple example.
If the OP has little money and wants to trade short-term, then altcoins are the best solution for him. Because the capital amount will set the profit amount. If he buys Bitcoin for a few bucks only and the price moves only a little, he will get a small profit.

But he must remember, not every altcoin can give big profits. Research will be needed.
Research is needed in determining investment in altcoins, especially in choosing fundamental altcoins. However, if a long-term pattern is used, it is also not certain that it can be maximally profitable, altcoins are still quite speculative about their journey, so they require more thorough research before making a decision on the parts in it.

Personally i don't have the courage to advise someone to buy something and i don't like financial advises in general, but if you ask me about my investment i always prefer to put the biggest part of my money on Bitcoin and ETH while i try to hunt some new coins with big potential after investigating about the project idea, tokenmic...etc

honestly, I always recommend investing in bitcoin even for a few hundred dollars, I strongly advise against buying altcoins. at least that the person I have to give advice to is a serial speculator so I could give some advice on what is better to bet or not, and never out of the top 10 cryptocurrencies

You'll decide what to buy once you've done your own research, but I personally suggest buying Bitcoin rather than any alternative cryptocurrencies (any). Large investors put their trust in Luna and invested in the project, but they now fail for reasons that are not important enough. The same is true for FTX; many exchanges fail due to such trust problems. However, Bitcoin is still around and it is the primary cryptocurrency that even controls the entire Bitcoin market, so Bitcoin is the way.

These days I am careful on what I say to people especially bitcoin or cryptocurrency enthusiast about it. I really do not tell people to invest or buy bitcoin or any altcoin as the case may be. What I do is that I present them with the pros and cons and allow them to make their own informed decision. We are at a very critical time where what you say can and might be used against you by whom ever you may have said it to in relation to investing in Bitcoin or any other altcoin.

This question is too general, so the answer also still depends on several things:
1. What coin is compared to Bitcoin. Because someone will definitely go straight to one or two altcoin names.
2. The goal or target of that person to make an investment.
For me this is easy enough to answer. When talking about bitcoin, what people always describe is a fairly promising investment, because the long process it has gone through has had a significant impact on protecting investment value. So far there is not a single relevant coin to compare with bitcoin, both directly related to price and market capitalization that affect it.
Bitcoin is an alternative in investment, while altcoins still give a question mark about its future.

Generally people will definitely choose bitcoin, although this answer cannot be given in general to everyone, the advantages of bitcoin are far greater than altcoins and almost many people know this.
Likewise the other way around, some people say buying Bitcoin is faster to get profit and that is much more true in my understanding. Especially when people can buy Bitcoin at the right time, but the amount of profit depends on the amount of investment people take. Finally we can conclude that bitcoin is far better than altcoins in any capacity and comparison.

I know Bitcoin is the best, but this case is a little different. I'll try to explain what I mean with a simple example.

Choosing altcoins may have some problems if we choose those worthless and useless coins, probably scam projects. But if you just pick potential altcoins OP there is no problem, they are also profitable and even sometimes more profitable than Bitcoin.

In fact, the majority of the investors are holding Bitcoin and a few altcoins. Perhaps it was advisable. But of course, putting a huge chunk of our funds into Bitcoin is recommended because we know that Bitcoin is the most trusted coin in the market. However, it was not just because we choose Bitcoin or altcoins we already know the results because there are factors that could affect it, and one factor is "how you manage your fund".

My opinion Bitcoin investment no risky because thay currency buy most people.Bitcoin king of crypto market. So I believe bitcoin not altcoin. This is huge volume crypto market.Alt coin some time profit but most time Risky. So people didn't risky coin buy.So I therefore my opinion Bitcoin investment people Most time profitable.

Although bitcoin being the king of crypto does not mean bitcoin is risk-free, bitcoin is still considered a risky investment because of its volatility as well as world recognition for it is not yet universal. The future of bitcoin is still a question mark and uncertain like gold or other real assets, so whether it's bitcoin or altcoins, we only invest with what we can lose.

Bitcoins or Altcoins?
To be honest, I have no problem with both as long as it can benefit me, so far I have invested in both and I don't think it makes any difference at all except in the use of the investment method that I do, for long-term investment methods, of course we all know and agree if bitcoin is the most suitable investment, but for the short term of course altcoins provide many choices for us in trading, altcoins and bitcoin in my opinion it doesn't matter if we can really use it and also understand how to be able to benefit from both Grin.

That's exactly right. We have to remember our goal here, if it is profit, then don't differentiate them but invest in both as long as it can bring profit for us. Bitcoin for long-term and altcoin for short-term investments, just the right combination, and we will maximize our profit.
But if to give advice to someone I would only recommend bitcoin as the only investment as not everyone can take the risk like us, altcoins can be profitable in the short term but with that comes risk as well as finding investment altcoins is much harder than bitcoin.

For me i would definitely advice him/her to go for a bitcoin investment.  But only with the proper orientation on how the market works bitcoin and altcoin are great cryptocurrency but due to recent drama with most centralized system like the crash of luna and ftx have seen many people that had their lifetime investment on these coins go down the drain. So its preferable to advice someone to go for  bitcoin which is a decentralized system and more safer and capability of them making lots of profits are even more especially during this bear season if you can just have the patience to hodl your invested coin for a long term investment you will sure that Btc will rise again and you will be smiling by then.

You are correct, we should always teach people and allow them to make their choice. But for record purposes, I have never taught anyone about cryptocurrency and begin to mention alcoins. I don't even mention them individually. I will only say that there is bitcoin and there is altcoins which includes Eth, Bnb, dodge etc. That is the extent that I go.
If the person insist I should tell them where to invest, I'll tell them where I invested, which is in BTC.

Anyone I'm BTC should not have the mindset of getting rich overnight. If anyone has such mindset, let them invest in altcoins and shitcoins, they could become overnight millionaires.

In the end, it is also tempting not to talk about Bitcoin at all, so one can conceal one's satoshis holdings.
Funny enough, not even early adopters of Bitcoin became rich over night, they also had to hold for a while and resist the temptation to sell at prices like 100$ or 1000$ many sold and nowadays regret it.
Some early adopters of Bitcoin are living in regret today, many of them could not hold for a very long time. I think when BTC was worth 0.45 dollars as at the time that the Bitcoin pizza transaction happened anyone that occupied the early spot then and eventually sees bitcoin at $50, they will see it as a life-changing opportunity and cash out then on the longer run Bitcoin met a new all-time high of 10,000 dollars, they will live in regret.
The same thing is happening today and that is why we say bitcoin is cyclical, many people are seeing the opportunity of 16,000 dollars today but in less than five years or so bitcoin could be at 100,000 and another set of regrets will happen.

bitcoin or altcoins are equally profitable but in a bearish situation like this it would be better to choose long term investments.
indeed altcoins are good enough for short-term investments but the current risk is very large if you don't have proper analysis. take a look at some of the events that caused altcoins to drop drastically such as the LUNA and FTT crashes that happened to FTX.
may need to reconsider buying altcoins.
I'm not suggesting not to buy altcoins, but I'm just having an opinion

For Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that is safe looking at how many great projects from different exchanges and team had been falling and no one knows if the coin you are holding right now will be the next victim. If we want to invest in cryptocurrency them Bitcoin should be our ultimate aim because it is the major coin that controls the market and without Bitcoin moving an inch, many of the strong projects we have in the market will just be ranging for as long as Bitcoin does not move, unless it is pumped and dump. Some altcoins are good but we will be more safer when holding Bitcoin.
