I personally believe that one should not tell others where to put their money, but rather guide them and help them to do their own research. I think investments are quite a personal think.

In that order of ideas, if someone asked me where to invest then I would likely present the pros and cons of those altcoins in the top 10 and also the things one needs to keep in mind while holding Bitcoin. In the end, it is better when people invest in something their actually believe in and not only because someone gave them unprofessional advice.

You are correct, we should always teach people and allow them to make their choice. But for record purposes, I have never taught anyone about cryptocurrency and begin to mention alcoins. I don't even mention them individually. I will only say that there is bitcoin and there is altcoins which includes Eth, Bnb, dodge etc. That is the extent that I go.
If the person insist I should tell them where to invest, I'll tell them where I invested, which is in BTC.

Anyone I'm BTC should not have the mindset of getting rich overnight. If anyone has such mindset, let them invest in altcoins and shitcoins, they could become overnight millionaires.

It is quite obvious that bitcoin is far more safe investment than altcoins but most retail investors failed to understand this reality.
Yes, the investment is everyone's personal and individual decision, and they are responsible for any loss or profit from investment in cryptocurrencies.

I think instead of remaining silent; it is better to guide our near and dear ones to invest in bitcoin and don't get greedy seeing the altcoins returns are more that the bitcoin investment. It is our duty to at least tell them the truth that altcoins investments can be risky (also give them examples of FTX and LUNA scams) and then let them decide where they want to invest.

I agree with your statements! It seems to me that it is not necessary to divide bitcoin and alternative cryptocurrencies into categories so much, because all this refers to financial instruments! Each tool has its own distinctive features. For example, bitcoin has a much larger capitalization and it is much more difficult to raise the price for it, and alternative cryptocurrencies have a smaller capitalization and it is much easier to raise their price!!! It's just that, of course, a huge role is played by the fact that bitcoin originally appeared, and only then alternative cryptocurrencies went, and only because of this more attention is paid to Bitcoin, but according to their idea these are all financial instruments.

Leaving sentiments asides, will you advise someone to still buy some Bitcoins (Not up to the value of 1)  if they have an amount of money that will be okay to purchase the equivalent of 1 of a good altcoin with a strong community? Is having some bitcoins (in decimals) more valuable still than having the value of one good altcoin?
I won't advise anyone to buy BTC or altcoins, both are risky investments. He/she will blame me if I advise him/her to invest. However, if someone asks for help, I only want to explain the advantages and disadvantages of investing in each Bitcoin and altcoins. Then, he must decide himself to choose which coin he desires. The basic thing is to invest in crypto with our own intention/own will, don't invest in BTC or altcoins because of others' advice.

By the way, BTC may be a safer coin to invest in. But altcoins sometimes can be more profitable than Bitcoin. Because each has its own advantages and disadvantages, people prefer to diversify their assets by investing in both.

The best decision, should not give any investment advice to anyone, especially those who do not have any knowledge of the market. Cryptocurrencies are extremely risky investments, and many people are unwilling to endure market volatility and accept losses. If anyone asks me, I will also give them the knowledge and the most basic things to be able to enter the market. We invest in crypto but we also cannot guarantee that we will make a profit in this market so it makes no sense to give financial advice to others.

Bitcoin is much better to buy during this bearish era for long-term investment, to prepare it for the next bullish era. This also has lower risks than altcoins. You may probably get very high profits from altcoin investments, but we also know how risky they are. This seems to be a high-risk high return probability. Sometimes, you can earn money from altcoins, but if something happened, even in the bullish era, altcoins may not be able to reach their ATH again. Although it is able to reach it, it may not happen in all altcoins, only certain altcoins. But, who will guarantee what altcoins? That is why it is clear enough that Bitcoin is the best choice, at least for me, learning from previous experiences in the previous bearish and bullish eras.

Yes, it is still advisable for anyone to continue buying bitcoin because it's price is still down. The quality of bitcoin is more superior compared to altcoins so having a small amount of btc will always be better than a one whole altcoin. We should always prioritize btc but it's also not bad to have some altcoins with us, only to have a diversified portfolio.

Just carefully pick the altcoins that you want to buy. Usually, those who go for quantity more than quality are newbies. Same when I was still new here. I do not like btc because it was expensive and I feel happy to see that my wallet is filled with different types of small coins but that mentality of me had changed overtime.

Without sentiments, I'll encourage anyone (although, I'll still be pretty clear on the user to DYO just for the individual to understand that, it goes both ways in an investment, Profit/Lose) to go for a bitcoin investment as oppose to altcoins.

Yeah, I get the point your trying to make as per, altcoins can just boom from maybe a $0.000001 value to $50 in value and an original $10 investment could make some huge difference but, that is hardly the case. Without any statistics to prove, I'll say that happens 1 in every 10,000 altcoins.

How then can you tell your not throwing away your money in a trash in the name of an altcoin investment.

In the case of bitcoin, there is a lot of securities on it and all you've got to do is keep buying and hold. A time would come when the price would sky rocket as well.
This is even more true now when we see so many projects go bankrupt, even projects with a strong community, and many investors lose all their money. There is no need to increase risks by investing in altcoins. When bitcoin starts to grow it will bring good profit, maybe it will be a little less than some altcoins will do, but you don’t know which altcoin will grow and make a profit, and which one will go bankrupt.

Buying altcoin this time to invest is risky, if one should ask me to advice which cryptocurrency is the best to invest in, I'll choose Bitcoin and encourage anyone to invest in bitcoin. The reason why I prefer bitcoin than altcoin is because bitcoin is reliable,  since the existence of bitcoin it is has never crashed and it is safe to invest bitcoin in the bear season.  The bear season is a time many altcoin lose their values and never recover, many altcoin later turn out to be a scam project at the end .

Bitcoin is one of the top investment in Crypto and very few people know about it's promising future. It's very crucial to invest in Bitcoin, to me, it's come first because it have large trading volume and it's 100% trusted compared to some random scammed project. Altcoins can make massive pump and still dumps easily without stress. Sometimes I wonder how peor would choose altcoins over bitcoin, which is one clueless decision to make.
But of the many altcoins on the market, it can be difficult to find this hidden gem. And it's only natural that those from the top altcoin list can increase greatly because of the pump because those altcoins still have strong support to increase. But for other altcoins, it won't be easy especially if they are ranked after 500-1000 positions.

So investing in bitcoin is the solution because it is bound to increase in the future and we have no difficulty choosing it as our investment. And if the bitcoin price goes down, that will be our opportunity to buy more.

Bitcoin and altcoins both provide an opportunity to anyone who wants to earn money dude, it just depends on the development and innovation of what updates there are in some altcoins, just like Shiba Inu, Solana, and Polygon, each has its own are doing good development in their communities. And with Bitcoin, that's a given because it's proven and tested.

Now of course it depends on the understanding of each individual as to how he will buy which altcoins he wants to make long term or short term, it's just that simple for us to understand this movement in this industry.

Bitcoin is to the cryptocurrency market what the U.S. dollar is to fiat currencies.
In any case, I would choose Bitcoin.

In the long run, investing in Bitcoin is more profitable.

The price of Bitcoin goes up in the long run.  During a bear market, the price of Bitcoin falls less than the price of altcoins.

At the same time, during a bull market (when investors are more tolerant of high-risk investments), it is more profitable to invest in altcoins.  At the same time, you need to invest in new altcoins, with an interesting idea and a developed ecosystem.

However, such investments should be of a short-term nature.

I would definitely recommend buying bitcoin for now, because for now only bitcoin is a role model for all altcoins if it's going to go into a bull run, I'll just buy altcoins that have good performance during bear times like this later

if you look at it in terms of quality, bitcoin is definitely winning and valuable.
but if you look at it from a profit standpoint, maybe one altcoin is quite superior, because altcoins are good, sometimes some go up to hundreds or even thousands of percent.
but when viewed from a security perspective, I chose bitcoin, because everyone who is involved in the crypto world knows that bitcoin is the safest.

... Sometimes I wonder how peor would choose altcoins over bitcoin, which is one clueless decision to make.
Those who choose altcoins over bitcoin are mostly newbies who want to get rich overnight, newbies always think that the price of bitcoin is too high and no longer able to bring them big profits, and then they look to altcoins. There is nothing wrong with that thinking but they are a bit flawed, they only think about profits without thinking about the risks incurred when investing in altcoins and when they finally lost all their money in altcoins, they realized that investing in bitcoin was the right thing to do.

In my experience, invest in Bitcoin is more profitable than a altcoins because bitcoin is long term project and also a top altcoin in market. On other hand, invest in altcoins is risky because first you can search a good project in almost 10,000 altcoins then you can invest. It is also too risky. In my thoughts you can choose top altcoins to invest in them.

Bitcoin and altcoins are equally profitable to invest in, but Bitcoin will be more profitable than altcoins in the future.
Accumulating more bitcoins during a bear market and holding them for a long time is most likely to achieve great success and bring huge profits to investors.

Who is asking for my advice? To me this is the most important question, if we are talking about someone that does not really know too much about the market or about investments in general then I would recommend bitcoin over any altcoin so they do not get in trouble if the altcoin happens to crash, however if the one asking for my advice has been in the market for a very long time, I know he is a prudent investor and he already has some bitcoin then investing a little bit of money in a good altcoin is not a bad idea.

indeed it is safer to invest in bitcoin because there is a lot of bitcoin trading volume and demand. and usually those who invest in altcoins have the goal of getting rich suddenly, because the altcoin pump is very high. but of course it is their right. and in my opinion it's better to invest in bitcoin because it's safer. whereas in altcoins the risk is very high. and not a few people have become poor because of investments in altcoins that are not of good quality.
