I think bitcoin will have higher price if there were no altcoins. but then of course that is not going to happen.

Altcoins bring activity to Bitcoin because as an investment they are usually exchanged between the altcoins and the (moderately) less volatile Bitcoin, plus all these memecoins get some publicity as it's funny that such as a serious thing (a currency) can be used so easily that it's casual. That said, Bitcoin would still be thriving without altcoins because Bitcoin is such a controversial idea that it becomes quite well known in itself.
i think alt coin help attracting many people into cryptocurrency world and that's a free advertisement for bitcoin. There's so many altcoin without a goal and created solely for the profit, and some of them even designed for a scam attempt which damaged cryptocurrency reputation. Bitcoin can survive without altcoin, but we never know how far bitcoin can reach without the help of altcoin.
when bitcoin prices rises, it's make altcoin price go down and otherwise.
with altcoin this to be an advantage to get bitcoin. thousands of dollars were invested in the trade altcoin every day this matter helps bitcoin grow.

All the hopes and wishes people had about bitcoin, all the missed opportunities regarding bitcoin they all manifested as alternative coins. however I hate it when people launch a new coin and they start to pool mining it in the first day, because bitcoin wasn't pool mined for years.
Alts opened the door for scammers but still there are a few that worth to hold like doge and ltc.

it looks like when bitcoin without altcoin it will die because there is no comparison in its exchange, unlike the case when bitcoin bitcoin supported many coins it will be more alive

I do agree that altcoin have important role on attracting people to cryptocurrency but it do bad and at the same time good in Bitcoin economy. Good because they attract people, bad because most of this ICO are scam so it gives bad reputation[1] to cryptocurrency industry including Bitcoin. Worst is that these altcoin often declare they are better than bitcoin[2] and at the end scam these unsuspecting people. Result they also think Bitcoin is also a scam project lol.
[1] How bad could the reputation of bitcoin be? It's already ruined since from the start. It would be wrong if we pretend as if all those illegal activities aren't happening. But at the same time, it's happening on fiat currency. Nothing to be ashamed of, honestly. All currencies are being used in shady activities.
[2] To some degrees, altcoins are actually better than bitcoins. Transaction time, Price, Date of Launch. Although those doesn't matter, it's still an advantage of altcoins. Transaction time has always been a problem of the majority, and we have SegWit on the way to solve that. Unfortunately, we're still not so sure about it. Using an altcoin can resolve our issues with bitcoin transaction time.
Price of altcoin is more volatile and cheaper. Thus, we can trade it and make bitcoins from it. The date of launch of altcoins are later than bitcoins. You have more chance of having your money increase if you invest in an altcoin than in bitcoins. (But we also have good times with bitcoin when the price increases like crazy. We rarely see that on altcoins nowadays.)
You cannot trade your bitcoin without the prescence of bitcoin because alternative coins itself is your ways to trade bitcoin like in ccex sites offering profitable tradings. Bitcoin is the digital crypto currency which has many alternative coins and those alts were used to trade in the bitcoin markets online, those profits were exchanged again to bitcoin in order to be accumulated to your online wallet balances.

Ya it is true that not only the ICO but also the other alt coins which are doing good trading in exchanges are also giving bitcoin price fluctuation
It would be a lot less interesting as we have developped a whole economy of altcoin traders, that brang us big packs of money, that is very welcome !

People does use altcoins to try to get more bitcoin, and not the reverse, if we havent altcoins maybe bitcoin could be more powerful, imagine all money invested at one single coin, it would be amazingl. But well altcoins has a word to say with somethings that bitcoin cant handle yet like instant transactions, lower fees then bitcoin, the point is bitcoin could be better but altcoins is a jump to get more bitcoin.

Usd will not be strong and durable if playing alone in foreign exchange market. Likewise with bitcoin, will not survive if there is no altcoin as the main support, as well as a small number enumerators for bitcoin.
If bitcoin is not limited in number, then we can argue the coin is able to play alone.

There is no comparison and competition surely difficult to judge, I'm sure if not altcoin then bitcoin only traded with price USD so hard looking for profits than trading with altcoin.
yeah. altcoin is all giving use more and more profits, and more and more chances to do work and earn bitcoin. if there would not be altcoins bitcoin would also be useful but not that much as it is now. and also the price won't be that high. 
If bitcoin without altcoin happened, all people will focus at bitcoin and it also affect the price of bitcoin for sure, because many people not using other altcoin beside the bitcoin itself.
Right I agree with you because not all people use bitcoin and so then cryptocurrency user would mainly focus on bitcoin and then for damn sure bitcoin's price would increase by manifold till date and as well there would be a dull market of cryptocurrency and trading site would be dull without altcoins.To be honestly, i dont think there are People who use Altcoins without using Bitcoins.. but there are for sure People who own Bitcoins, but dont
have any Altcoins in their Wallets.
But right.. if Altcoins would disappear i guess the Price of BTC would rise dramatically.
