Right I agree with you because not all people use bitcoin and so then cryptocurrency user would mainly focus on bitcoin and then for damn sure bitcoin's price would increase by manifold till date and as well there would be a dull market of cryptocurrency and trading site would be dull without altcoins.
market is all about competition and all altcoin might not have much importance in market but without altcoin there would a dull trading market and traders and investor would have very few profit. Altcoin plays a cru role in balancing the market of cryptocurrency.

This applies with every other inventions and discovery. At some point in time, someone would have that idea. I'd like to think that the whole world is full of mysteries waiting to be discovered.

That even the disappearance of alternative coins could bring more intense price increase towards bitcoin. Bitcoin was before any altcoin occured on the scene. I'm almost sure that 99% of altcoins are scam and will dissapear in the future. Technically you can add all the features: privacy, speed, security etc, to Bitcoin network and there is no need for a lot of competing altcoin. That is not to say that Bitcoin is perfect. I mean that we can implement, for example, Monero features on BTC and there is no need for XMR. But new technology, not using blockchain! are developed as well. So, we need new technologies because they are implementing advanced features Bitcoin currently doesn't have and it seems will not have in the future (huge capacity of TXs per second, AML/KYC features for business, instant TXs, privacy etc.). Most Altcoins are created to overcome the weakness of Bitcoin. For example bitcoin cannot do more than money transfers and payments but ethereum has more features. Again ethereum is unstable unlike Bitcoin.

There is no comparison and competition surely difficult to judge, I'm sure if not altcoin then bitcoin only traded with price USD so hard looking for profits than trading with altcoin.

If you look, you see that everything has it's alt version so why the hell bitcoin would be by way of an exception?
Also nowdays altcoins are mostly in shadow because they can't offer us anything better than bitcoins, plus some altcoin hard forks and that's bad. Real competition is always good and if any altcoin will offer us anything better in future, who knows what will happen? Also on wiki we read "Bitcoin is often called the first cryptocurrency, although prior systems existed".
There's no need for different altcoins in my opinion. I think we all shouldn't bother of alts, many of them will eventually be devaluated, when side chain technology is implemented. At the same time I must give credit where the credit is due, some alts may be useful for example Altcoin which will be tested with Segwit before activation on Bitcoin
you can't acquire more bitcoin with sidechain, so no altcoin will remain because investors need soemthing to do their pump and dump, some of them wil profit other not
