Really happy to see Bitcoinity back! Is there any way at all you can give us the latest price on the tab? Pretty please... ? Even if you can't, it's still my favourite. Cheers.

Oh! Bitcoinity is back! Smiley

I somehow missed out on the revival. Nice to see you up again!

My interest in exchanging value between USD and BTC fell off a cliff about the time bitcoinity.org went dark (and Tradehill also for that matter.)  I'm not sure what the relationship may have been.  I'm glad (and surprised) to see things back though.  Bitcoinity.org was really really useful when I was accumulating.

bump, http://bitcoinity.org/markets

I'm really sorry it's been gone for so long, I'll try to work on it a little bit. Currently there's just chart from mtgox.

Bitcoinity.org

Current version is crappy.

I don't want you to associate bitcoinity with crappy (too late?)

Coming back soon with updates.
=============

Until the last few days when the numbers became largely wrong, your 'crappy' version was still much more useful to me than anything else out there.  The amount of data you managed to squeeze onto the thing especially with multiple trading houses overlaid, and the performance and usability was really impressive to me.

I sense that to some extent you were doing continuous tracking computations.  While this could lead to compounding errors when the feeds are spotty, it also, I sense, lends itself to more useful and powerful results and performance.  If this is what you are doing, I might suggest a series of otherwise identical sub-sites with the data re-based at different times and frequencies.

I, for one, will be looking forward to anything else you might come up with going forward.

Not sure where else to complain, but the information on http://bitcoinity.org/markets?exchange=mtgox right now shows the market depth fine, but the pricing data and "recent trades" on the right are woefully out of sync. The price is currently at 3.7-ish, but the "recent trades" and top chart shows things in the 3.45-3.50 range. Also, there have been quite a few instances where lots of trades in a short time cause the price chart to render incorrectly (e.g. with yellow lines shooting off at angles rather than up/down). I would assume these are known bugs, but digging through the whole thread is a bit time consuming.

I see exactly what you describe.

I blame myself because I have not yet contributed to the beer fund as I promised.

Actually, I have seen such artifacts previously in the many hours I've spent staring at comboy's charts over the last half a year, but never to the extent that they appear currently.  The seem to correspond to periods of high volatility, and seemed to be limited to MtGox.  I thought maybe Gox had a fucked up NTP setup or something earlier, but I'm leaning more toward a bug in comboy's code these days and it showing up on the Gox charts mainly because MtGox tends to have higher volatility.

comboy (in his typical honest way) says to use something else for a while until he gets around to fixing things.  He does not suggest what, and I'll be damned if I can find anything which is 10% as useful Sad

I'd not used clarkmoody.com before.  It's quite nice, and there is a lot to like about the effortless scrolling.

I really like bitcoinity.org since I do most of my stuff on Tradehill, and am interested in the relationship between Mt. Gox and Tradhill, and the depth charts of both.  Also, I guess, I'm just used to it.

comboy:  More beer fund when you get the thing back up.

I meant that my "data" should be identical to yours, if it has been indeed stuck and not actual.  Is this not true ?  Regardless of width.
Anyway, market price is 2.465 now. And your and my picture show market price about 2.3

this is not true.

Scale the width of your picture to mine or mine to yours and you'll see they are identical except X Axis legends. I think they formed dynamically in ajax depending on screen resolution.

Looks like mine changed, you have some local issues you need to look into.

EDIT:  We are talking about the bars correct, not the line ?

Why does your 10m look different than my 10m ?
I guess you have a wider monitor?
