I may write code in exchange for bitcoins.

I don't think there's anyone who's actually even claiming to be missing funds.  This is how rumors start.  Someone says "is anyone missing funds?".  Next post "I think OP is checked out".  Next post "those who are missing funds should do X".

Well, the OP himself claimed that he has some funds due to the players:

...

Sorry about the late reply. The only debt right now is the funds that are being held in the offline wallet which is 0.263 BTC.
...

And very shortly after people couldn't log in. So likely there are few people with some balance, but since the amounts are small, no one gives a shit.

Thanks, pawell777, that explains the context a little better.  However, the OP can't be expected to keep the site online forever just in case someone finally comes along looking for 10mBTC.  It seems to me to be reasonable that eventually the site closes and the if someone who left some money in an account comes along, they'll need to contact the admin via email or some other method.

Wonder if those that are missing their funds have emailed this: [email protected]

That may get an answer faster.

So what's the news? Was everyone able to access the site and withdraw the funds, or has the OP quietly disappeared with outstanding balance?

No news so far and just checked the site..but it is inaccessible now, so I think it is gone now. Smiley

He has not been on since the 8th August so unless they had an email address which he has responded to looks like they are out of pocket a little, very surprising if they do not receive such a small amount of funds from him though as I really don't think he would let them down. Not looking good though is it.

I agree with this. I think Betcoin has been winning over some people, but there's room for anyone that can come up with a system that really makes them stand out. You don't have to be bigger than the others -- just be better and others will come, leading to growth.

Well, but this site was better than their competition in many ways imo, but that wasn't really enough to lead to the growth.  I think the deal with a poker site is that there's a critical mass necessary to get things started.  9/10 times that I looked into bitcoinpoker.gg (especially before they started the freerolls) there was no one there to play with.  After the freerolls started, I still almost never was able to get any action because it was just the leeches waiting for the freerolls to start.  I think that you also need some kind of marketing plan and a plan to get a critical mass ready and available on opening day.

Imagine this: you send out emails to 100 of the top bitcoin poker players before you open.  Telling them the opening day and offering them 100 free chips (or so) and a referral bonus if they play at least N hands in the ring-games and tournement games within 7 days of opening.  Then you advertize the grande-opening like hell BEFORE the actual opening day.  Then, when you open, you actually have people there playing poker and hopefully you could grow much more organically after that.

I like your promotion idea. And what you said is causing issues (the whole freeroll leech situation) is just like we're seeing with LuckyFlop now: over 100 people sign up for the weekly 500mBTC freerolls. Around 25-30 usually sign up for the hourly ones. Yet after three weeks of playing there, I've not ever seen a single ring game going.

Sorry but what is the point to discuss about freerolls here? the site is already dead and we should leave it. There is no point to discuss that already here, there are alot more poker thread here if you want to discuss freerolls. Also that I see that the admin still owe some bitcoin, has it been returned yet to the players?

The site is currently for sale.

Hint 1: that means there may be a buyer
Hint 2: that means the buyer would run the site
Hint 3: that means the site would be revived
Hint 4: that means things are still relevant

@ranlo I certainly hope you're right.  I think sealswithclubs really let us all down when they went windows only.  This site's functionality was great, they just missed the boat in the marketing and promotion department (imho).  I hope there does end up being a new buyer as I basically have no where to play bitcoin poker anymore (for now).

I also think the window of opportunity will eventually close.  Seals will eventually release cross-platform clients and they're basically going to have all the business back, I think.  Right now there are a lot of orphaned players, but that can't be the case forever.

Freeroll is too much low, do you have considered to raise it? I think that many user will come in your website and it could be a good thing for you.

Not really, freeroll will only attract freeroller who will not play on the ring games. Means that this is not a good condition to the site.

Agreed. Freerolls should be based on those that contributed to the site through play. A "point" system would suffice, such that x points are needed to enter. Or even a hand played count. Essentially, keep the "only going to play free" players out of them and give more incentive for playing ring games and paid tournaments.

I will try your website and then I'll write a review here. Like so much the graph, hope that there are many freeroll (I've a low bankroll  Embarrassed). I have a question, in which way you control that in some table there are two player that are the same people? (for example).

Great to see you read a post or two of the thread before posting lol Also hope you have a really good time at the tables, please let us know how you get on   Cool
