That's a thread from 2020, check date  Cheesy

Oh Dang!

That was a mistake. I haven't checked the thread creation date. I was confused by this:

The 2022 Bitcoin Pizza day contest has now officially started.
More details here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.60200236 and in the server's #pizza-day-event-2022 channel.

Look at the date. So, I thought that was the main thread. I was wondering why no one submitted their entry there. Stupid from me. xD

Hurrah for Karamazov!
Hi Cyrus!

Do you maybe want to edit some information on the main thread of this contest?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-pizza-day-contest-on-discord-5250227

Contest ends on May 23 23:59PM GMT.
Voting closes May 26 23:59PM GMT.

Current prize pool: 0.011BTC.

You have maybe forgotten to edit the thread after you changed your mind to run it a little longer and change the prize pool as well.
But, It looks funny to me that no one submitted a single entry on the main thread of this contest. Everyone (Including me) submitted their entry on the thread, which was mainly created for Discord Server discussion.

I'm sorry to say this, but it's useless to discuss about how the proper way to choose the winner that deserve to get the prize, because I can clearly see it's either Agbe or mafoja1 will win in this Bitcoin pizza bake-off contest this year. Everyone including me doesn't have any chance to beat this both users.

Looks like you want to cast randomness where it isn’t necessary.

Not really. That was just my opinion. I don't want to demand it.

Another suggestion could be, Stop accepting new members on the discord server until Voting ends. So, we can get the pure result from the existing members.

This is also my opinion. I am not demanding this. I just proposed this to make it fairer. Of course, it's up to Cyrus.

Good luck everyone!

Please be advised that this is a fun event, Bitcointalk is filled with skilled investigators, please don't spoil the fun by messing with the votes or being too paranoid.

Thank you, Cyrus. My question is, Can I vote for my Own entry and can I ask my friends to vote for my entry? What if they are from outside of Bitcointalk? I am concerned here. If you allow that, The Result can be manipulated easily. I Respect all the participants, do not get offended, please. Also, If you don't allow it, How you will check the votes if it comes from Bitcointalk user or not?

I can suggest Two more ways to pick a winner.

1. Make a judging panel who didn't participate (Cyrus, theymos, other mods if possible) and pick the winner.
2. Put the usernames on the online Wheel winner picker ; Spin the wheel (Record video or take a screenshot of the winner).

Example: I toke first 10 entry for this example

Note: This is just my personal opinion. Please don't get offended.

Your questions are right.
Your proposal is cool, but I think it should be announced before the start of the competition, not during, at it substantially change the contest itself. Unless something very wrong happens, I think we should keep the current setup. But ultimately it is Cyrus decision, as he’s the sole contest organiser.

Instead I explicitly frown on the second proposal of random assignments. Looks like you want to cast randomness where it isn’t necessary.

Posting here also my entry for the competition:

It is, of course, entirely made by myself (I spare photographic pieces of evidence).
I consider the B an industrial secret! (it fits pretty nicely with the other toppings, though).

Despite the fact that the acceptance of applications for participation in Bitcoin Pizza bake-off contest has already ended, I am posting this photo here.

I liked the result of my experiment in the form of the last pizza (mushrooms in sour cream give a particularly delicate taste) and I decided to repeat it again. In the end, there were 2 pizzas in the Laszlo's story - Pizza for bitcoins? , isn't it. Therefore, in my opinion, the celebration of this day would be incomplete without a 2nd pizza. Yes, and it's a pity not to brag about another "culinary masterpiece" since I've cooked it.  Grin

So, I pay tribute to this event and post my 2nd version of bitcoin pizza (out of contest), otherwise nobody will not buy them for 10 .000 BTC without a complete set.  Smiley

The ingredients remain the same, except this time I used non-fat sour cream and added some minced meat (just a little bit), garlic (just for a light flavor) and an egg to tie all the ingredients together.

P.S. Don't judge harshly, because I am a mediocre cook.

And, looks like I've had enough pizzas already. Smiley

Edit:
Actually, in Italy you can find pizza into two different shops. Pizzeria, or “pizza restaurant”, where they serve the round pizza cooked on wood oven you might be familiar with.
Or you can go to the “forno”, bakery, where they usually sell Bread, fresh pasta and pizza prepared in rectangular baking dishes.
This pizza is usually cooked into electrical ovens:

I'm a little disappointed if this is an acceptable way for Pizza in Italy. to me, it looks just as unattractive as one that has mayonnaise on it.

Finally got around to baking some fresh home made pizza again!
I don't use Discord / don't have an account, but maybe I can still take part in the competition. Wink If not, I'm happy to just share my creation and hope for an approval by fillippone!
That is a lot of green stuff on pizza for my taste, but thanks for posting DIY recipe Wink
Well the toppings are up to you; the dough works just fine with pineapple, corn, sausages or mayonnaise on top (though I won't eat those even if you pay me Tongue).

Naah. Bitcoin Pizza is not Italian Pizza, we all know that. It was more on the general pizza knowledge aspect.
I guess that even a pineapple pizza topping would make a good Bitcoin pizza, as Satoshi himself told us it is a goood pizza.

Well, on a more serious note if you don't mind me asking... as an Italian, how rare is it to find a non-orthodox pizza, discounting those fast food chains like Dominos?

Voting has oficially started!
I see there are a few contestants that haven't posted to Discord: Feel free to add them or ask somebody on Discord to post them for you. I could also post them for you if you don't use Discord.
Let the games begin!
I think this year we have best ever pizzas made, there is so much creativity and great ideas that is making hard for me to pick a winner.
Anyone who catches any members who are cheating in any way in this competition is getting a bunch of merit reward from me.
Good luck everyone.

Real Bitcoin pizza is certainly not Italian, it's Hungarian and it's delivered by track driver Laszlo Hanyecz  Cheesy

I'd like to thank you guys who organized this event and encouraged us all to bake pizzas! It was a great week, checking on this thread and seeing all the creative entries, from all sorts of different places around the world. Some people mentioned they'd never tasted a pizza, some made it using arabic flatbread or put ketchup and mayo on top - even a vegan option was presented. Some entries just made me want to eat pizza every day; others made me laugh and others I would like to copy in the future!

Thanks fillippone, it means a lot! Smiley
So if I get a proper pizza oven, I can make them in one go; that's very good to know! I may procure one but have to look more into the topic (for example gas vs. wood vs. electric).

While at proper pizzeria it would be unacceptable to have anything else than wood oven, at home this could be a little impractical. There are ovens that can get to 350°. Those usually come with a special slate where you can cook your pizza on.

This pizza has a thicker and soft dough, that melts perfectly with the topping, that is cooked together with the dough.
