thanks @Cyrus for organising this year's Pizza Bake-off contest and to the people who sponsored the contest. I will be waiting for the new version of Pizza Bake Off next year. reading fillippone post above looks like next year Pizza bake off will be more competitive.

@Cyrus, I think you made a mistake when sharing the link to the Discord contest backstory.

So many pizzas! It's finally time to reveal the winners. After some deliberation here is this year's prize structure:

1. Mendace: 0.003BTC
2. fillippone: 0.003BTC
3. Ale88: 0.003BTC
4. Petulino:  0.003BTC
5. Not your key not your btc: 0.003BTC
congrats! quite fun to see several members wearing the Bitcoin Pizza badge.

The Betnomi Custom Ledger Nano X will be raffled soon between the first 10 winners (Mendace, fillipponee, Ale88, Petulino, Not your key not your btc, pixie85, icopress, acroman08, light_warrior, Bbigtart). A block number will be announced and the last two digits will reveal the winner. Another block will be announced if the winner declines the prize.
if possible I'd like to remove myself from the raffle. Good luck to the rest!

Congratulations to all the participants and all the winners.

Thank you @Cyrus for organising also this year this icon contest. Thanks to for the pizza badge and for the generous contribution to the prize pool. Thank you Icopress for the support of this contest trough a generous offer to the prize pool. Of course also a thank to  Betnomi for sponsoring this event and granting a custom Ledger Nano to be recycled amongst winners.
John Abraham, Not your key not your btc you made a great work helping the good success of the contest.

I will return next year of course, with a better pizza to get rid of the Italian competitors.
I am sure the format will be different, and I guess in the end the rules we have been discussed on the thread can be used as a good reference (baking your own pizza, taking pictures on the process and voting according to Pie Baking contest).
Of course I offer my help in providing ideas to make this competition even better and funnier for everyone (I am the Bitcointalk Golden Feather after all).

Of course I fancy the idea of “sticky” badges proposed by Mendace. Life goal is at a “5 pizza slice General” badge.

Bitcoin address is on a PM to Cyrus via Discord.

It was really fun to see the excellent pizzas that were featured here on the forum.  Tongue

And thank you @Cyrus for continuing to create this contest over the years.
I believe that next year will certainly bring an even more interesting model, in order to keep the contest lively and fun.
Perhaps, next year, I can help using TalkImg, talk to me later, maybe something interesting will come up.  Wink

I didn't participate in this contest because I don't know how to make pizza, the last pie contest I did was after watching several tutorial and I still couldn't get it right.

I came here just to congratulate those that won the contest but I noticed something odd, if you hover over the badge it says "2022 bake off" instead of "2023".
Is there a reason as to why it's 2022?

Btw, congratulations to all those that won the contest.

congratulations all winners. I was thinking that only the first winner with most votes will be chosen for price. This was a great fun contest and thanks to all who participated and supported and special thanks to Cyrus and all those loyal users who helped him to make easy this contest management.

Thanks for the Cyrus contest and thanks to all those who helped make it so and thanks also to the challengers.  I sent address via PM.

If I may suggest something nice, why not leave the permanent badge and possibly add another one if the participant also wins the next edition?  For example Fillippone should have 2. As if it were a medal collection.  It's just my idea.

Thanks again.

The contest was fun but this will be last year in which we are organizing the Bitcoin Pizza Bake-off Contest (in this form  Cheesy). It's not scalable and we've reached a good amount of controversy. For people that came late and/or wonder what's up with the Discord contest here is some backstory.

Thank you again to theymos, icopress and Betnomi for sponsoring this event and to John Abraham, Not your key not your btc and whoever else helped with organizing and compiling results!
And of course, thank you laszlo for making all of this possible!

Congratulations everyone!

How many people are actively using the Discord channel? Are we talking about thousands and thousand of users of just a few?
At the moment, I don't think that number ishigher than a few dozens max.
Is there an actual reason to have a Discord channel besides the forum? Or was it just an experiment that was worth trying but in the end didn't work out?
I would say that answer is "yes" to both. I see no harm in having a Discord server where members could chat (at least those who prefer faster type of communication) but unfortunately things didn't work as planned (or hoped) as majority of members eventually lost the interest.
I have nothing against the Discord channel, I simply don't use it, let's say that I don't find very practical to ask tens of forum users to create a Discord account and join the server just to upload the pizzas and being able to vote, specially if the server is used by 20-30 people max, as you said. Besides of course the whole voting system that leaves plenty of space to cheat on Discord. Unfortunately the more I ask info, the less all this makes sense to me.

How do you explain then that you voted not only for mine but also for other pizzas?  Roll Eyes
It's not a secret and I didn't know you were counting my votes, but I don't think there are any rules said that I can give only one vote to one pizza, it's not like I used multiple accounts.
Don't forget to tell this to Cyrus and other people also, because they also voted for other pizzas  Cheesy
It's a fun sport.

I'm actually Italian so I have all the rights to answer that way Grin
Well, that is true. But don't put pineapple on the pizza please.
Probably you're mistaken me with someone else, I'd never do that.

I also do not understand this. Why use another site / app for a contest organized by our forum? It makes no sense for me.
Maybe for improving the Discord channel

Maybe for improving the Discord channel, and he was thinking ahead for millennials also. As I see, Cyrus is enough Millenial to follow this era, he also builds a youtube channel which I think, he tries to improve our old school forum to be more suitable for the next generation. (IMO). Because like my nephew when I introduced him to learning Bitcoin on this forum, he was unwilling to continue reading writing, articles, and thread. he's happier with visualization and faster to catch the knowledge.

Babo, just to remind you there was an official endorsement by Theymos and a pizza badge as a badge. This wasn’t a casual contest.
And see how long it has been there which makes many of people curious that what these badges mean exactly for those who don't know about the pizza contest so yes this was indeed special for you and more importantly being from the Pizza land it have more special importance to you.

The hacker spirit breaks any spell
fillippone ok I see that the discussion always veers on that
I said how I think, I'm probably wrong that I see it differently
the world is complicated because of this, everyone sees it differently and often the lack of communication sharpens distances

I'm probably wrong, that's okay

in any case what I said remains, a change of regulation can be proposed, but if you don't like the regulation it is not mandatory to participate
my opinion

anyone can create another pizza contest for pizza day
no rule prevents you from doing so, with different or more appropriate rules
I'm not arguing about the rules, I'm saying that we are complaining about something born to laugh and have fun

if you want a better and more serious contest, you can create it
