3/29: Bitcointalk Private Poker Tournament #5 @ Sportsbet.io - 40 mBTC GTD Prize

reply here or shoot me a PM if you still need the password!

I think whomever has been getting the tourneys set up for us there already should approach them and ask them to take a look at this thread. Let them read what we are wanting to do and decide if they wanna toss in a few bucks each week. We are doing a buyin tourney so it's not like we are asking them to put up the whole prize pool, and we have gotten 10 players+ in each of the tourneys so far, so that's 10+ depositors on their site. Obviously could be much more.

For honest i don't think that +10 players is too valuable for poker site. but at least we can try :>

it could grow. a lot of the affiliate freerolls/money added tourneys running today started out very small.

And yeah, i hope that we will choose 1-2 sites where we will play for all time. I don't want to register on new sites weekly and share my personal information.

Hey guys. I'm leaning with yahoo on this one. If we make it a regular affair, then we have to consider:

1. Keeping it on one platform so a series/points system is possible (I'm assuming it would work on Swc). I'm actually not in favour of either of the platforms I've played on recently but I would pick SwC just because it's poker specific. Does anyone have experience with support service in case things go wrong there?
2. KYC and georestriction. Not everyone can register or play at the other sites, but SwC to my knowledge is blind to all that, so we'd get the max players here.
Another good thing about SwC is player to player transfers. I think as far as a points system goes, we would have to track that on our own, but that's easy enough to do on a spreadsheet.

I sent efialtis a very good preview on how the points system would work in a series and its not complicated. I would also wonder if players would be interested in more then 1 game per week? Doesn't necessarily have to be on the weekends, but we would have to try to base every game on when the most players would be available. I'm sure a lot of us are from different time zones, which makes it complicates as hell for us.

However it works out, I think we need to seriously find out how many would be interested in a series game, and if we could just make this happen every single week. I would also like to know if SwC would be interested in sponsoring anything for these tourneys. Maybe add 5mbtc each game to the prize pool since we are bringing them players weekly.

Yahoos idea really sounds great and we should discuss this here soon. I agree, the most important question is how many ppl would actually be interested in a serious game, thats why I have just started a new poll. Noone will be able to participate each time, we are simply talking about a serious interest in participating regularly.

I also agree that SwC Poker seems like the perfect destination for this - and yeah, they should definitely sponsor us then! Cheesy Will you get in touch and "warn" them yahoo or shall I? Cheesy

Obviously could be much more.

I also think we need to probably make a separate thread posting the structure for the series so users will know the conditions and points structure. Being as the way I wrote it to you that 9 players(max) would make the final tourney of each series, a player would not necessarily have to play every week to get into the final game of the series. I would want everyone to be clear on what they are voting for so no one can get the wrong idea about the game and bitch that they didn't understand something.

Agreed - this poll is just to test the waters and get a feel - we should definitely make a separate thread for our series games where everything is explained in detail. This thread here would then serve for general bitcointalk poker discussion as well as bitcointalk tournaments outside our series.

40 mBTC granted! That sounds good, I will play definitely!
Minimum 15 people to start, I hope this granted prize will attract more people to come and play with us.

I like championships and points! Smiley I would like that to happen. And I agree with you Yahoo, SWC is more for my taste than Sportsbet, in the end SWC is a poker site.

See you at the tables!

Yahoo already made up a nice and very promising suggestion via pm - its gonna be awesome. Smiley

Lets first rock this tournament on Sunday and then get a "real" series going - awesome stuff during those hard times we are all going through.

About this weekend: Sportsbet guys told me they are setting up something "special" for us and thats why Id love to play there this Sunday.
I'd be there. A time and the exact rules haven't been decided yet, have they? I'm curious what to expect.  Smiley

By the way, it's very good that the ban has been lifted and you are back!  Smiley

Are we playing on SwC this weekend or is it set in stone the game is on Sportsbet.io? Would you be able to compromise and maybe offer games on Sportsbet.io on 1 day( Saturday or Sunday) and a game on SwC the other day?

I'm vote for SwC. It has convenient system and interface, no KYC and other things like that.

Besides, when the next tournament? On this Sunday i hope?  Cheesy

so i should be there this sunday (announcement soon hopefully?) but i'll be playing under a different name.

So this Sunday on sportsbet, eh?  Undecided As i heard, they are pretty demanding about KYC procedure.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun, how long did the entire tournament last when yahoo won this one? I like poker but the long hours is what makes me consider not joining,,, wish I had good internet at home.

To yummy btc and other asking about freeroll passwords: You can just join Sportsbet freerolls every hour there is no password. I have tried a few times but I am a terrible poker player even with freeroll;)

hopefully i can figure out a way around this. they are letting me log in just fine, but i can't access the poker room.
Thats strange... working just fine for me... make sure to figure it out mate, something is coming up for this Sunday...  Wink Cool

they must have flagged my account in some way. the country restrictions follow me no matter where i log in from now. this is one of the reasons i get nervous about SB---the country restrictions and possibility of AML/KYC.

i made a new account from a german IP address---no issues accessing the poker room from this new account. Roll Eyes

so i should be there this sunday (announcement soon hopefully?) but i'll be playing under a different name.

That sounds great! I`m in! Smiley

It's not much time left until Sunday, though. So, are we playing or not?

If I'm not mistaken, we had several confirmed participants by this time in the previous tournaments.

I have a question regarding transferring money to another user on Sportsbet. I checked this option today, and this is what I got:

It doesn't look like I can transfer money to another user. It looks more like an exchange or something.

So, is it possible to do a user-to-user transfer on Sportsbet?

what password on sportsbet freeroll?

I was going to ask same question:) There is a freeroll today which name is "Home Coingaming Poker Tournament". If somebody send password to me, I'll be really so pleased for that.

Thanks and good luck all.

We dont have the password as these tournaments have nothing to do with our bitcointalk private tournaments...

I'd like to get a weekly bitcointalk game on SwC. Maybe even run a few series of 10 games with a point structure and a Championship game only for the winners. For example we could have everyone who plays each week send 100 chips on SwC to whomever we deem to hold the chips, and that extra money goes towards the championship freeroll.

If we run a 5 game series and on average have 15 players, that's 7500 chips towards the championship freeroll. We run 5 5 game series, and the 5 winners get into the championship freeroll. Winner take all or pay 1st n 2nd.

With the above numbers(just an average) we could be looking at a 37,500 chip freeroll 2x a year. Just another idea for all to consider and might also push more players to join and try their best.

This idea could be tweaked as well.

Personally I am completely open for anything and actually, as stated before, I also like the idea of having a championship tournament in the end. Smiley Why would all games need to be played on one fixed site though? We can of course have a "series" on one specific site - wouldnt mean we cant have tournaments elsewhere, too, so thats cool. Again, I dont mind at all and I can play everywhere. Wink

Edited my post above keeping with the idea of a points structure vs only allowing winners to get into a championship game.

I'm not against you guys playing on other sites or anything, SwC is a "poker" site though, so if we ran a series I'd prefer it there. Even if we cannot get players to agree to a series, i'd still like to see a weekly game there at a minimum. Pretty sure we could get to 50+ if we keep the same format going.

I'd like to get a weekly bitcointalk game on SwC. Maybe even run a few series of 10 games with a point structure and a Championship game only for the top 5 or 6 in points.
