5k seems very reasonable. Although I did not mind with 3k.

2) Yahoo told me someone suggested a higher starting stack for final games in upcoming series so I have just made a poll, please let me know what you guys think about 5k/10k/25k.

Voted for 5k. That seems like a sweet spot to me. 3k is maybe a little on the low side but 10k is already too much, 25k is way too much and could ruin the game balance easily.

@efialtis

any chance of upping the starting stack in the next series? like 5k or something? it would be nice to be able to splash around a bit more in the early blind levels. i think it would make for some more interesting chip distributions.

anyone have thoughts on that?

1) Yeah, makes sense and we can definitely do that!

5k is a decent starting stack size, I think it would be fine. With the lowered blind time I think it would balance it out as well.

I would have joined you for half an hour but unfortunately my SwC account is empty. Had one all in on cash table few days ago and lost almost 10mBTC so I decided to penalize myself until tomorrow Smiley

I developed a bad habit of crashing cash tables for 15 min or half hour max since I don't have more time and that usually ends with me forcing way too much chips on not so good hands.
Did you play today? I can not remember I have seen your handle in the lobby.

No, I lost all my chips (except 2k to enter our tournaments) begging of the week (Monday or Tuesday) and decided not to add more until I get some patience. Poker isn't something you should rush, so I have to condition myself first Smiley

Yesterday I played more stupid hands in the tournament so my self punishment stands. Will see how this evenings tournament will go. It is not a problem if I lose early but it is a problem if I make several bad decisions.

Damn, now you are messing with my head. I think runner up tournament will actually be more fun than our Championship table. Now I have to find some extra motivation to play serious poker tomorrow. Maybe we could actually call it a "looser cup" or something similar, that would help a bit Smiley
Maybe but before tomorrow would you like a go in this table : https://play.swcpoker.eu/?tableId=43249447
I hope I do not burst you again like the other day 😝

Yes, SwC will be sponsoring a guaranteed prize here, too - not going to disclose it's value yet but another great move from them to help the community have some fun poker action.
I think this is win win for both SwC and for the forum users. Of course SwC is getting great exposure from all these and people are spending more time in their platform these days. I am one of them. Good move and hopefully I do not find myself in this tourney 😜

Update: I think I know now the prize fund of the runner up tourney 😜

Losers is the wrong word man - the others just got extremely lucky... Cheesy
In poker I think patience comes first before luck. I can tell it from my experience that I have lost most of the times because I lost focus and got greedy and then lost all chips. There are times when you give test of patience and wait for the right cards to call a hand. So I will call us losers who will not make it to the final. 😀

What is your tag on SwC ? I have been getting up to speed with freeroll tournaments. I have the same name as here.
In SwC it's bttBt.
In sportsbet, I did not play much yesterday and today it keeps saying it's not available in my zone LOL. I tried to reset the tor several times but no luck yet

- An additional game for all the great players who unfortunately didn' t make it to the final, is set for 5/3, 1 PM EST / 5 PM GMT.
Very good to know this for the losers. Possibly I will be one of them LOL
So Sunday is the day!

Lolz.

Thats a positive approach towards runner ups.  Tongue
I guess those are willing to join with runner up tournament shall also get some goodies (chips) since they have lost a huge amount along the way.

I mean just saying and some of the eligible contestant might just become happy and lucky about it if they are running short. Hhampuz did great job last time when he gave two of us his chips. Made easy to enter.

Just a thought though.

While we welcome any and all players of all skill levels, the end result I hope to achieve is to hang out with each other, play poker, and have fun. The money is just a secondary added bonus. You're paying an extra $1.40 roughly on top of the $7-7.50 buyin per game for good clean fun. Shouldn't be about 9% or a decent prize pool.

Just an FYI, 1st in the regular games has been paying between 9000 and 12000 chips for 1st. That alone is a decent prize pool considering the buyin.

You're right, money isn't the main point of this series. I've been following and observing this from the sidelines since the beginning but a few factors led me to not participate, the main one being that I live in Australia and didn't really want to wake up 3am in the morning to play. That's not anybody's fault (it's one of the disadvantages of living here) but I reckon that would outweigh a large portion of the fun I'm sure I would have.

When I was asking about the consolation tournament, I was planning to do an all-nighter just once. I hope you can understand how being told I'd have to play in the series as well to enter sounds dissuading. I'd simply rather play at a time I'm normally awake; the rake is indeed insignificant but reminds me that I could just play any regular tournament.

Even if I didn't mind waking up early, I can't possibly join in late now as I wouldn't forgive myself for not giving myself the best chances to win by playing from the start. Best wishes to your tournament and I hope there'll be a more favourable opportunity to play poker with you guys in the future.
The start time is very inconvenient for you. I wasn't aware of your timezone. Not to mention the game usually lasts a minimum 3 hours. I wish we could accommodate everyone on this issue.

You will have to play in at least one of this series' tournaments but with two tournaments left, you still have the chance. If you win both, you may even qualify for the Championship game. Wink

And I'm assuming I'd still have to pay the 200 championship fee? So realistically speaking I'd be paying 9% rake across a series game and the consolation game so I'd be better off playing any regular tournament on SwC, unless I could choose to donate the 200 to the consolation one's prize pool instead. I'll likely pass on this one thanks, but I could be persuaded by a decent guaranteed prize.  Smiley
The extra 200 chip fee is something that everyone pays in order to increase the final prize pool. The size of the pool + the .05 SwC is adding in, should make players want to play in every game and play their best poker. Of course playing your best does not guarantee you will win, poker is a game of skill in the end mixed with a little luck.

The players who have 0 points still have a chance to make the final game. It would take 2 stellar finishes and some bad plays by the users near the bottom of the final 9, but it could be done.

The thing is - taking part in our series/poker tournaments is not just about the money you know? And if you knew me, granted... you cant - Well, I would not have mentioned the "guaranteed" prize if it wasnt worth it (even monetarily)... Wink
