Come to think of it...what exactly is this thread advertising in its header?

A few easy tweaks and we can get BCR up into $300k marketcap area in no time at all.

Plus Azure, and we're good to go for $xm

People wondering. The plan per slack is to move to a new blockchain with a snapshot of all the balances. So the new client and code will take care of the renames. There's plenty of details to still figure out and opinions and ideas are welcome so get to slack!

I can never figure out slack.

People that post here bump the thread, that's free advertising.

Slack as a dev channel...yep. I get that. Slack as community engagement?  if you can find a way to cross post the general slack thread to here, then this thread will 100% get bump. bump. bump.

Until then, I'm happy to post around these parts, I like talking to myself anyway, I find the quality of the conversation is highly agreeable.

Ooh, look at that...I bumped myself to the top of the altcoin thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

edit..

and the thread view count went up by like more than 10 views:

That's probably the same as $5 of clicks on Google AdWords, but for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

You got some services on there, cool.

Needs expand to full screen option.

You're pretty much Azure ready.

Sir Crouton, what are you like with packaging up BCR into an image that can be launch via Docker?

Blimey.

Quite a lot of stuff to tidy up:

Maybe: P2P Loans and Funding

?

Who looks after all the links in the OP and the client? Lots of dead links, but all pretty easy stuff to sort out

Any reason why V2 can't go on Azure?

Coins that have recently been added to Azure: https://github.com/Azure/azure-quickstart-templates/pulls

Looks like there have been quite a few jumping on the ship recently. From Shadowcash's slack, it appears they've "applied" and been accepted as well

Starcoin is going on there...they sort of have a similar approach to BCR, although they are just for start-ups.

I've set-up a meeting with a debt recovery agency I know really well - mid April.  They have some big ticket customers because they mainly deal with commercial debts.

They have a very good track record on tracing people and extracting out money owed using the court system.  They also have an international network so they are happy to take on debt recovery anywhere in the world, pretty much.

They are building an automated debt chasing platform that will eventually be linked to credit scoring agencies: lodge debt recovery, automated message is sent to the person who owes the money, official debt recovery notices issued, clock starts on fees and interest payments on anything outstanding. Internal messaging system allows for settlement of any issues between parties.

I think they will be interested in this space. I'm going to pitch the concept of recovering debts from BCR customers that fail to repay any loans - as they are building an automated process, it will work great with a peer-to-peer lending platform.

Let's make correcting that part of the move to v 2.0

I have been struggling with an issue though:

Should we have BNs advertise themselves as potential Creditors, alternatively have users post requests..... or both?

A strategy to back end with a real bank account needs to be on the roadmap, I think. The p2p network then acts more like a match maker and credit scoring service.

Obviously actual loans in BTC can also be made, but the model for this already exists. Bitfinex is one example - you can go on there and borrow BTC for trading within 10minutes.

Zopla was the original p2p leader but they are following the rate setter model?

This p2p wheel has already been invented, so there is no need to deviate too much.

The category of lending can be general and then the big one is property, which is seen as the lowest risk (see bottom of the page on the above link)

Welcome aboard sir, keep that quality discussion coming! Smiley

Good having you and seeing you around the BCR topic.

They have been 'basenodes' for a while now, although 'bank' still appears in the sourcecode in a bunch of places but that word shouldn't be end-user-visible anywhere.

Nomenclature remains fluid at this point. There was talk in Slack today about possibly rebranding from 'Bitcredit' to something else to accompany the launch of v2.0... suggestions welcome.  Smiley
Agree, both names can still be found. However, things are most likely be cleaned especially with the move towards v2.0.

Slack is open invite. Bcrofficial.herokuapp.com
As far as I can tell the 6 mil was broken up and sold in the past day. (There might be 1 mil waiting payment but spoken for)
The goal was get the premine out of the devs hands to eliminate it's stigma. And get bitcreditscc dev some funding for the project he has been trying to raise for a while. It's a double win situation, and the icing on the cake is that the 6 million were broken up and did not go to a single user.
All has been sold and paid for by now. Great explanation about selling the pre-mine, +1 on that. Glad it's finally dealt with, time to focus on v2.0.

I never could figure out the bank node label thing.

Total waste of time at this point, if you ask me. I'll tell you even if you don't.

People don't like banks now. Those that do, only want their money to go into something where they have absolute confidence.

These two key issues need to be addressed.

The nail in the coffin on the 'bank' branding is the heat you'll get from regulators because it will confuse the hell out of ordinary users.

Feel free to revert back to bank nodes when the market cap is over $10bn.

In the meantime, the action is 100% in micro-lending.  Better still, figure out a way to get in on the action going on in China and replicate it around the world.

So, what's going on in China?

http://www.businessinsider.com/china-moves-to-stop-investors-borrowing-the-deposit-amount-for-property-loans-2016-3?IR=T

Those that want to buy a home can't afford the deposit. By the time they save for a deposit, the prices have moved up.  So they have to save some more....etc. It really is like a carrot being dangled in front of a donkey.

Syndicated deposit loans for those wanting to borrow to buy a house or apartment, with real banks giving out the majority of the property loan.

Make this happen and that'll get BCR column inches in financial press all over the place.

Drop the 'bank' labeling, ASAP.

You guys need to email bitcreditscc ASAP and send your BTC to the BCR bidding address 1BCRbid2i3wbgqrKtgLGem6ZchcfYbnhNu - AFAIK 4 million BCR have already been sold @ 350 sats to 2 investors and another has earmarked a million.

I agree with Coins101 that all 6 mil. in the hands of one individual would not have been ideal, but a bunch of people who have been following development wanted in so the dev said first come first served... Smiley

Maybe PM/email LucD88 for a Slack invite too, all of the discussion and dev chat happens there nowadays.
