They claim they cant share what happened. Which means they know it. I guess they will come up with a story of a hacker that stole most of the coins. And now they cant talk because of investigation. The SEC or others wouldnt take some coins and leave some coins.

Anyway... if i dont get at least 100BTC of my funds back i will pay a lawyer to get me that info. ffsixtynine claimed a lawyer would get the info.

ouch! 100BTC...

We should make a new thread for all people who want to take part in setting up legal action, private investigation, whatever, to learn the truth what happend to our funds and assets.

I thought about banding together and hire one lawyer. Maybe the one from this forum. He can have multiple customers. So everyone has to pay less, he gets the info and all participants can get the info from him. That makes more sense than everyone paying much for his own lawyer while in fact everyone only wants to know whats going on.

Makes sense of course only when the lawyer really would get the info.

I'd like to know how many btc are stuck in there totally to get an estimation about the percentage we can expect to get back on monday. Anyone got further information?

Check: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-94-con-by-jon-montroll-337523
Edit: Or do you mean the "remaining" coins in the wallet? I guess we wont get that info until payment.

That's a good idea. There has been far too little information and far too much waiting and I'm beginning to get impatient, especially regarding ukyo.loan which has had no information of substance whatsoever in quite a while. It's seems like there are many people that are owed more than $10k and a few that are owed more than $100k. That is definitely a sum of money that it would be worth hiring a lawyer for.

As was announced earlier, most of the coins that were stored in WeExchange.co are now gone. We are still limited in what we can share about how that happened, and what is being done about it, but we do have some updates.

There are still approximately 386btc available in the wallets. These coins will be paid proportionally to all owed users, based on current user balances, by Monday night.

All old withdrawal requests will be removed and each user will need to initiate new withdrawals when this new balance is ready.

Full instructions on how to access the site to process these withdrawals will be provided by 5pm (GMT+2) on Monday 16th December, when you should be able to withdraw the portion of available funds allotted to your account.

This is far from ideal, but it gets every satoshi that is available to those with outstanding balances. When we are able, we will announce more details on what is being done to repay the remaining coins that are owed to WeExchange.co users.
That's not nearly satisfying, and not nearly what we deserve.

@Danny, Ukyo, whoever
You should consider to come out with the true story immediately.

@all who are missing BTC, fiat, shares, whatever
We should consider what we want to do. I suggest to give them a deadline. After that take all possible and necessary steps.

Edit: What does this crap "the coins are gone" mean at all?

It concerns me that they don't talk about the total btc count. They would do that if a sufficient amount of btc would still be available.

Also I'd like to know what the chances are for restoring the coins.

Tl;DR:  Bitcoin's second or third largest bank (Pirateat40's Bitcoin Savings & Trust being the first, with Tradefortress' inputs.io competing for second) steps in to make good on the coin lost in WeEx fiasco remind users to chillax 'till monday.
Much hand-wringing ensues. Nothing happens.  Nothing ever happens.  This is bitcoin.

Smells like a classical HYIP scam.

If it were, people would have already known it was and I would have wasted my perfect OTC ratings. Sad

A couple of questions:

1) What is the total amount of outstanding WeExchange balances? In other words, what percentage of the coins owed is that 386 btc?

For what its reported here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-94-con-by-jon-montroll-337523 it should be ~30% of total coins. Not bad for now I guess.

Ill guess less than 10%. Not all is documented on that post.

I wonder how much 386BTC represents in terms of the total BTC Weex had in its possession before the fall? Single figure %?

Might be a good idea to take a picture of your current balance along with today's newspaper before they "adjust" it...

So you claim some agency got our coins and let some coins in there? Doesnt make sense. Coins cant vanish from addresses magically too and the private keys should be takeable from a broken wallet too. Not to speak of backups.

Im interested to hear that story... i dont get it.
