So it seems like only the Baikal N is going to make some cash cause it's being delivered right these days and still no fork for now.

The "lucky" buyers of the X3 will enjoy it for a few days and then, the question is: how will they use their X3?

they can heat their house or flat with them  Grin

... or maybe there will be a firmware update

Electonium will make a fork too and then x3 will remain idle

I heard that Monero V7 algo will happen in the April instead of 28 this March? I think KnightOfPi also saying about that as well.
So, are we fucked up by this ASIC bastard?
Just building my GPU rigs to focus on CN algo and then this CN ASIC mining comes and fucked up everything!  Cheesy

Your gpu rigs will be fine. The goal is to change enough to be incompatible with the ASICs. Just update your miners regularly and you're good.

So X3 miners are for mining Monero and all its forked copy cats. Maybe it would take a while before miners of cryptonight would eventually rely on this ASIC hardware to mine Monero.

It is going to be very interesting to see how much the hash rate of the monero network will fall. Will give GPU miners a chance again.
For a short time.
Remember, they do not need to be "efficient" just better then a gpu / cpu.

This way unless the dev team can change the algo every 120 days there will be a way to do it.

-Dave
*Yes I think changing 3x a year would not be a bad thing. Every 120 days you switch and the new one that will start in 120 days is released. This gives everyone ~4 months to upgrade their software, but a VERY limited time to build new chips.

Better= more efficient
From what we have seeing last couple of weeks, ASIC is around 20x more efficient than the best GPU system. Im means it will provide the same output with 20x less energy.

Monero update their algo 2 times a year. I dont know if they are planning to increase that.

Think of how bad the early BFL and other miners were. But they were still several factors better then CPU / GPU.
If they keep changing the algo, someone at Bitmain (or wherever) just has to sit down and say.
X $ per coin
Y speed gets me Z coins.
How fast does Y have to be for me to recoup development + build + power costs and to make a profit over N days.

I wish the BTC had a balls to make such a move like they did! But I do fear that BTC core team and huge industrial miners make love under the hood Tongue Welcome to BTC-CARTEL

When asics hit btc, chinese already dominated mining and votes, so nothing core could do to prevent it cause they are the largest coinholders. Bitcoin has not been decentralized for a long time and the bitcoin price manipulation is huge, they crash the market when they want and buy bitcoin when they want.

Core could have said NO! Just like Monero team said....

My bet to Monero Network is 350Mh/s after the fork.....

Correct. Looks to be early April.

Oh shit, then we gonna be fucked up by the first batch of those ASIC miners then!

We're already being fucked since December 2017 by those ASICs. They're clearing soon-to-be-dead stock now.

In the Bitcoin Speculation section, Philipma1957 is waiting for his demo Dragonmint 16T model, and there are several indications that Halong Mining is a legitimate site. Most people there, including me, have essentially concluded that Halong should be considered legit. MyRig (a legitimate and reputable hosting and miner repair site) partnered with Halong and if you take a look at their Twitter site you'll find they have several images of Dragonmint Miners there. https://twitter.com/myrig_com?lang=en

We will see.

Batch 1 can get a credit or refund for the difference between batch 1 and 3 or 2 amd 4 respectively. They can also take tripe or quadruple the machines for their order or just cancel if they haven’t paid yet.

Well the question to me, is that why the hell they LET BITMAIN and Baikal mine with their ASIC miners since last summer?

Now they changing their pow when these miners goin to public.... i dont know who is the bigger pr*ck...

There is no way to be sure who/what is mining what. For all the Monero team knew, it was a private farm of FPGAs. I doubt anyone was particularly suspicious until presale announcements started happening.

Anyways: All GPU power to Vitalik Cheesy Wink

GPU miners are ready to power Bitcoin more than they are for ETH but ASIC cabals won't let it happen.

ETH owes most of its populairty to GPU miners. That's the only reason they don't talk about the upcoming PoS HF even though it is on the roadmap. I think ETH is probably going to skip PoS hard fork just to not lose GPU mining ETH shills.

p.s. I am still grateful to Halong Mining for stepping up against Bitmain to raise competition.

I AM very confident with the $1900 one :

1. More than 3 months after monero change algo (just a little different than cryptonight), X3 might update its firmware just like Baikal's miner.
2. For Monero only, with total 4 batch of X3s and if each has 10000 units for total 40000 units means hashrate will rose by 8.8 ghs. With current around 1 ghs and X3s 8.8 ghs for total around 10 ghs, it still mining $20 a day or $600 a month (220khs of cryptonight in Nicehash $200 per day now). Usually Bitmain's Batch only 5-6k or, it will more profitable.
3. Even if it can not mine Monero, there are many coin that can be mine AND there are auto switch pool or rent service like Nicehash so its still profitable.
4. Competitor doesnt have anything big to compete, so network hashrate wont be that big. I would love to add Halong but their miner not be seen anywhere.
5. I always touch break even point at whatever Bitmain throw, even D3 that hated by everybody. All calculated by coin not USD

The point of mining is INVESTMENT for a long time. If you mine with S9 right now and sells the coin right away at 8-9k, then you miss the point and of course you will have big loss. Hold the coins and set sell order at your favorite exchanges with 5 times of its price right now OR atleast wait for next halving.

Im not siding with Bitmain BUT they almost counter every competitors with better hardware. I bet when new SHA256 miner with 2x efficiency, Bitmain will release 4-5 times better OR cheaper.

Good luck and I wish you the best on your positive outlook,but...........Bitmain is offloading the X3 miners they filed a certificate of conformity on 01/23/2018 which means they have been mining the X3 for months and when Monero announces POW change to V7 they all of the sudden want to sell ? Not only this ,but there are 4 manufacturers total announcing Cryptonight miners for sale now. This is worse than D3 scenario people can use rose colored sunglasses but reality is this situation is not looking good for any one who purchased any cryptonight ASIC.

For FYI's sake, that cert of conformity, if you look/read it closely, is for their "Antrouter's", not their asics.
Devil is in the detail.

True.
My saying in many many posts in here: Read the sources, ask the sources, read it again.

Most content in here is factoidal and of course without any technical own knowledge.
Just copy and paste what anybody wrote in Reddit or somewhere and then its getting repeated to the end; sometimes even wrong!

Anyways: If this detail and factum was already wrong --- what else is wrong mentioned in here?

I am happy that I dont care (believe) in XMR as the ultimative financial blockchain; but that is my believe.
Therefor I orded just one for USD 1.900 to see what it will lead to and just collect the coins. The 550-600Watt are just peanuts for the fun.

Anyways: All GPU power to Vitalik Cheesy Wink
