Why is there so much FUD surrounding this miner?  Does the same thing happen to all antminers released?
yes, always fudsters. Just do the math on the profitability and follow your head on it.
Pretty bad advice seeing as how those "present" math numbers never materialize. This new FUD garbage is the newest catch phrase and is already overused to the point of nausea. There's FUD and then there's facts. Here's the facts. You pay $2700.00 for a unit with "TODAY'S" profit of $1,500.00 per month. But....you don't get it until several 100's if not 1000's of PH/s slam the network. Now you are grossing $400.00 per month on a $2,700.00 unit along with all the other blind lemmings. That's not FUD....it's just stupid. I already know what the worst case is on the S-9 and I can buy those for $1100.00. 2.50 S9's for the cost of 1 D3. 2.5 X $369.00 pm or, $922.00 per month. You do the math. I already did. More people need to. This shit is off the chain stupid.

Totally agree that the profitability of D3 will be nowhere near what the profitability is today once they are shipped. But I'll ask the obvious question: How are these farms in China making money (I'm not referring to Bitmain either) off of the same equipment at the same prices? If it was such a bad "investment", Bitmain wouldn't be in business.
No electricity costs and they mine this technology long before we even hear about it. Probably will be running 10nm soon.

How is "todays" profit on a 15gh d3 only $1500?

At todays figures it would be about $166 a day or about $5000 a month... but that number is falling fast.  My Baikal's are having their testicles put through a VICE right now with fast falling profitability.

Thats what i figure as well just didnt know where the 1500 figure came from.  And yes it will drop hard but from $5000/mo down to ? More room to work with at least.

If you compare the bitcoin miner to this there is no comparison. would get d3 every time. even the l3 is more profitable! even with increased difficulty.

Metawin.com - Truly the best casino ever
Seems Bitmain is now more active in altcoins than in bitcoins. I think it's a good news, liked antminer and as far as I know their litecoin miner is good also. As I check on website it's price is 2700$ and shipping will start in September. What do you think guys, is it good to buy their dash miner or mine with great GPUs?
Will I get ROI quickly with current situation on dash?

Does anybody have any rough figures what they guesstimate the ROI time will be for the first few batches of these machines?
How wild are the stated figures of 6-7k a month after a few batches etc?

You need to remember those numbers are a snap shot of this very second. Are you saying $6,000 - $7,000 a month in Revenue?!?!?! $82K a year from a $2,600.00 unit?? Think about that for a minute!! Not happenin. They said the same thing about the L3+'s. Their profita are already in half and those are just STARTING to hit the network. There are very few X11 coins to mine that are worth while. Once this massive release of hashing power slams into the network, you'll be lucky to get $900.00 the first month and then steadily lower after that. Switching pools will be a problem because they will be the only outlet for all these machines. Folks need to pinch themselves and wake up. If the D3 makes an average of $400.00 per month over the year, you will be very lucky. Best to hope for another fat X11 coin to give these things somewhere to work. Otherwise, mark my words. This is the biggest pipe dream to hit the pools in history.

The first batch will have good ROI for about a month then ill will drop pretty fast. Keep in ming Innosilicon is also releasing an even faster Dash miner with 38 GH.. those come online Oct 10-15.

Also keep in mind that iBeLink sold a batch of their 10GH+ units a couple months back that are supposed to be shipping NOW.

They say it can be OC to 38 gh, probably not though. It's also 10k, so slower than 3 D3 that would be much less expensive.

that's overly optimistic. You might pull 2-3k after batch one. Each batch will drop it considerably.

Anybody have any idea when the next batch of D3's will ship? I'm guessing around the middle of October based on the batch sales of the S9 and L3+ that went on sale and sold out today. Wish they were still offering the September delivery date but that has most likely passed and not coming back.

My question is why even delay shipment of D3 till September why not just start shipping now? I highly doubt that products are not completely built so what really is holding back the shipping of them?

They probably started sales after their first pre-production run to make sure their chip design was good and so that they could advertise accurate values. Once confirmed, they setup the sale to customers for batch 1/2 and sent the final order to the production foundry. A 2-month turn-around from the foundry is actually pretty impressive considering how small Bitmain is compared to the others who are ramping up their production at the same foundries (Apple, for example).

their internal mining schedule for built units is in the 1-6 month range, depending on the market. If you think you're getting money-printing machines right off the production line, you're naive.
DING DING DING!!! We have a WINNER!!

I'm willing to admit that my first suggestion may have been wrong and that they might have the entire 1st batch mining away already. To offer another possible explanation as to why they aren't shipping yet (other than for their own profit), they probably want to see what kind of failure rates the D3 has over time to determine if they need to fix anything in future batches. It would be unwise for Bitmain to risk another R4 incident and lose more customer confidence in their ability to deliver reliable products.
