Clueless!
I heard some crazy news about bitmain today. So they made profit in the billions last year more than some of the leading GPU producers which is a very symbolic i think. It's going to be companies like bitmain that will be at the cutting edge of chip capacity development in the future. The money is moving there after all.

here is the link

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/23/secretive-chinese-bitcoin-mining-company-may-have-made-as-much-money-as-nvidia-last-year.html

made between 3 and 4 billion dollars in 2017....refuses interviews.....made as much money as Nvidia GPU maker (took them 20 years) and it only took bitmain 4 years..

does anyone know what happened to dash network hashrate?

it wasnt this low since before last batch arrived 3 months ago, not that i'm complaining, just curious

anyone?
I don't see anything strange.  Hasrate fluctuates around from 2 to 2.5PH/s starting December. One day it falls, another day rises.

yeah it was false alarm Smiley you can see in chart between 12-17 feb there is a little gap Smiley hashrate went down and didnt went up for 2 days i think that was when i posted

I have sent 5 D3 hashing boards to bitmain since 5 weeks and until now it has not been collected or sent back.
been writing daily emails with no reply

Look at the bright side, you don't lose a lot and save energy. Maybe you're even better off without them Wink

that's one point of view Smiley

It seams like none of you really understands how business works.

You all cry Bitmain is evil because they are the only one with a monopoly and because they sell a shitload of miners to willing buyers at fair market prices?

Really?  What do you think will happen, if Samsung and Baikal really produce a competing miner?  They will def not just sell 10 of them...

The difficulty is going to go to the moon.

Prices "Might" fall and I highly doubt they will.... ruining their business for themselves by undercutting the other did not really work in the past (just look at coca cola and pepsi)

Oh and even if the price of mining hardware is going to decrease, due to the higher difficulty and still fixed electricity costs, mining is not going to be more profitable.....

Just think about it for one second. Same product from Hashing power, half the price and people will buy twice as many because they are cheaper....

Agreed. In fact, more manufacturers means more difficulty increases which lead to less profit per miner. Many miners will not break even. And the threat of a new machine appearing out of the blue to make obsolete the machine u just bought also increases.

Seems Bitmain's monopoly comes to an end  Cheesy Cheesy

Well known Mining Conglomerates, Bitmain and Canaan Creative, are about to be given a run for their money as Samsung has announced it will join in the mining game.

Yesterday Samsung confirmed that it will begin manufacturing ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Chips) chips which will be used in cryptocurrency mining specific equipment.

I read somewhere that samsung was making chips also for baikal....just saying.....

edit: found the link for what it is worth

http://www.idownloadblog.com/2017/12/22/samsung-baikal-bitcoin/

"Samsung’s component-making arm will supply 14-nanometer ASIC chips for Baikal’s newly updated Bitcoin mining hardware. First chip samples have already been tested, with mass production scheduled to kick off in January 2018."

- I see there will be still no breakthrough in bitcoin ASIC manufacturing. Samsung will produce 14-nm chips, while Bitmain's S9 is 16 nm.

But Samsung entrance to the market could lead to much tougher competition for Bitmain, and reduce prices.

Biggest problem with this scenario is baikal.  They can't even build a working web store.  Hopefully someone else will be getting samsung chips to build something.
