How rare is it that I have "foundblocks 1" on my antminer d3??

I've been running it since the start of December on my 19.3 gh/s d3? It makes me wonder if I should have just solo mined because I would have just earned 1.9 Dash coins instead of what I have now (less than .41 dash)

It's not rare at all. I get several. Unfortunately if you were not on the pool you would not have those "found blocks".

I have an idea that could improve ROI on the D3, but i don't have a D3 to test on. Will someone who has a D3 do the following and send me the files?

nanddump -f /initramfs.bin.SD /dev/mtd8
nanddump -f /am335x-boneblack-bitmainer.dtb /dev/mtd6
nanddump -f /uImage.bin /dev/mtd7
nanddump -f /u-boot.img /dev/mtd4

You can use an application like winscp to get the files off of the miner. The miner uses a ramdisk, so these files will disappear on reboot so you don't have to worry about storage space.

Check https://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/dash-mining-calculator/ (put in your miner hashrate, current network difficulty and see "Days to generate one block mining solo")

I've tried out of curiosity and result was 266 days to find block ( using 19.3 Gh/s)
BUT
You need to understand this is pure average value
so it's possible you can find 2 blocks within that period (and during next 266 days you won't find any)
or you could find 0 blocks during that period and then find 2 blocks during next 266 days period
or if very unlucky you won't find any blocks for 798 days (3*266) and then can find 3 blocks in a row.
etc. etc.

You got lucky. Can you endure 2 months at 0 earnings ? Can you endure 1 year at 0 earnings ? 2 years ?
I'd solo mine only with 100+ asics farm, but that's me.

BTW: Mind your temps. Your third PCB is too hot. You're braced up for trouble.

To those looking for alternative pools:

When I had the D3s in my basement, I got interested in p2pool for dash. I mined on a few public nodes, but at the end some nodes were actually non paying at all.

So at the end I set up a personal p2pool node and mined with it for a few weeks. It was more profitable than the other pools. Payments were immediate at maturity, given directly from the miner fees as they came trough.

I there's interest, I could spin the node up again and give you the IP address to mine on. No fees or strings attached. I'll do it out of curiosity and personal fun.

Please reply if interested.

curious to know if a 4th chain can be connected to the D3 since there is a 4th socket on the controller board.
The S9 only got 3 sockets.

Well, looks like I have maybe another month mining these 2 D3's. Between the 2 of them I get 35gh at 10c kWh usd @2400 watts at the wall at 220 volts.

or $5.10 a day after electric.

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/dash?HashingPower=35&HashingUnit=GH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=2400&CostPerkWh=0.10&MiningPoolFee=0

does not bode well, even if I bring them back home from the data hall and use as a basement space heater this rest of winter.

alas!

This is not good news. I sold all my D3s when they were making $10/day net, and BTC as soaring above 17000, dash was 1400. I sold them at a net loss of 20% each. Seems it was a good call, after all.

mate dont use cryptocompare calculator it's worst calculator, it says you mine 0.013 dash per day dash price is aroud 800 so 0.013*800=10 usd per day Smiley not 5

the calc likely is, as you say NOT correct, but I only mine 0.009 dash per day! 0.009x 800 is 7.20 usd ..but no way do I mine over 0.013 per day!

them days are gone....

what is a more LEGIT calculator? (more or less)

i usually use coinwarz calculator u can add difficulty by yourself there and also i check average block difficulty for 24 hours so i have a clue what number i should add it to it. this way i have some kind of clue how much i make per day it's usually -7% to -8% difference from that calc

i usually make around 0.008 dash per day with my D3 only 1

never really could figure that one out......i understand the add your own difficulty rate..just never have a clue...so I just use the snapshot method or KISS principle....

on a calc...but I guess the calc I picked sucked for that purpose..

not sure how you are getting 0.008 dash per day..I'm getting 0.009 per day for 2 das miners at 35gh?

i'm on prohashing and here is my earnings

Is prohashing better?

no idea dont use others

I haven't try this myself, but with the knowledge I have from the code and from the fact that you can connect a board to the 4th connector I am 99% sure this will work. Let me know if your run into an issue. I might be able to help you out Smiley

this works

What do you use for PSU, and what is consumption?

I have 3 on supernova and getting 0.011-0.014/day! The same for the other 3 zpool.
per miner or all of 3?
