Did bitmain said that this is the last batch? I remember something like that

@searing are you planning on getting the DCRD asic? from obelisk.tech?

Clueless!
difficulty wont go more then 50 mil so it will be 3.5 usd day without electricity
why do you think 50 mil is  aMAX ?

because of quantity they sold, and after last batch which was 1 month ago there was no other batch and it seems they won't sell anymore so far.

approximately 100k units was sold it will give around 45mil difficulty + other company miners that will give us 50 mil +- 2 mil

it doent make sense to produce additional units to sell, unless something changes in good way Cheesy

they made max quantity wish some profit possible and screwed other manufacturers

pretty sure release of D3 was aimed to kill competition

50 mil is max for now at least for 3-4 months

imho, they will sell more...they will simply dump the price down to say 900 bucks or some such...the bitmain toaster train will continue..again imho

Congratulation to all D3 owner, you now have a very expensive heater lol

true...my toes are toasty while the top half of me is crying ...........

edit:

Can the below calc really, really, be true?

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/dash?HashingPower=17.5&HashingUnit=GH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=950&CostPerkWh=0.12

Am I really only making $2.31 per day after electric?

This is a stock 17.5gh unit at 950 watts and 12c kWh at USD.

Alas, the ASIC gods are beyond cruel it seems...........

Got like ten units still available. Desperation is setting in.

Stay Calm.  There is still profitability.  Think long term.

We can only hope. Profitability is very small though.

Programmable ASIC has been available for long time. So depends on the technology used, the D3 maybe re-programmed to support other algorithm

Would you expect Bitmain to use anything but the cheapest quality?

Hi, my two D3 arrived today too (the units are 01-15 Nov. batch and are labeled 19.3Ghs), but I have paid 591 Euro of VAT and TAX. I am waiting for the APW3++ power supplies that aren't shipped yet.

mine arrived today, and UPS forgot the import tax.  So that saved me a few $

now i just need the power supplies!

Bitmain are holding on to power supplies and just sending the d3's out and talking abut rubbing salt in the wounds thay have took the piss to much they are scum bags

You don't have to say that like as I would not know that.

I'm simply trying keep up some constructive discussion up here, instead of whining about low profitability.

The idea that I tried to say, is that we would need to know how Baikal did the whole multi-algo thing and then see if it can even be done with the D3 at all.

Baikal's items are FPGA, which means they are programmable.  (The P in fPga stands for programmable.)  That makes them slower but changable.  ASICs are faster and locked in.

Hope they join this treat soon. I know that Indiers can be queite creatief.

Problem is that we would need a guy who is both very familiar with the chip BM1760, software programming and maybe Baikal miner hardware, so that there is some reference point to help the development (Baikals are multi-algo miners).

This has been discussed a few times here now.  ASICs are not reprogrammable.

The reason i even brought this up was because the 11 algorithms in x11 can all obviously be processed by this hunk of metal. So in my mind someone more adept than myself could create a means to just use one of those algo singularly in Bitmains ccminer built in.

To me it makes zero sense that a machine could only handle 11 at the same time and not just one, its obviously  capable of handling all 11. Please help me understand how this is wrong because i dont understand aparently.

Unbelievable how I keep seeing threads here by retarded D3 optimists. Is Bitmain paying you to post things such as, "hey u all don't know how to mine, D3 will roi in 6 months, just wait for price of dash to go up"? No matter what the Dash price does, I currently wouldn't buy a D3 for $400 and that's because after the baikals and novemebr D3s are delivered at the end of November, you will be seeing network hashrates around 700-1000 TH/s maybe more. And guess what the revenue will be then? It will be at most 3$ a day with electricity costing almost as much. So YES a $400 NOISY HEATER is what you'll buy. There were plenty of warnings about this but nobody believed them, even the final dash batch sold out at an unbelievable pace Sad

Every x11 owner is going to have a hard time and Baikal owners will prefer other profit algo. End november even around 10 cents per kwh can be negative.
Baikal?? LOL, that company is a joke. I wouldn't buy toothpicks from those assclowns. BTW, all you doom and gloom prognosticators. When critical negative mass is achieved on X11 profitability and most of these people that overpaid for units and overpay for electricity are losing money, shut off their machines.....what do you suppose happens to the difficulty then?Huh

LOL. Nobody will switch them off until they are free heaters so 0 profit or loss is guaranteed for everyone in December with even a 10 cent electricity cost, eventually some will sell them to people with free electricity so difficulty will keep going up for now.

Pray for a new super coin on X11 Cheesy Or why not just fork ethereum on to X11 like they forked bitcoin gold to equihash.. at least we will be doubling our ethers the same way bitcoiners are now "doubling" their bitcoins with segwit2x if you know what I mean Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Stupidity all around really like Cheesy

Mine for a Bit
We should ask bitmain to upgrade firmware to add x11, x11gost, x13, x15 to D3

Adding mining algorithms can be hard, if the BM1760 chip is not as versatile as Baikal ASIC chip is, for example.

Is it even possible for a firmware upgrade to ad  x11gost, x13, x15 and maintain the x11 on the D3?

I asked Bitmain via e-mail a while ago about adding algos with firmware upgrade, but their reply was this:
Code:
Dear hagssfin,

Thanks for your consultation!
We apologize for the inconvenience to you, we do not support customers to do so..
Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.

Best regards,
Olivia
Bitmain

I know that there are some PROGRAMMERS out there that are REALLY SMART.  Do you see the possibility of you the PROGRAMMER or Bitmain adding this as a firmware upgrade?

Thanks Hagssfin for that information!
