The problem with waiting a month to get your machine is that the first month is where you make the most back with this machine.  They know this. They have been playing us too long. Eventually people do wise up!

BR

I don't doubt if people will or may have already wised up. It is a problem that people still knowingly choose to commit into it Roll Eyes

idk about feb 20th delays...i got an email last night from bitmain saying my s9's are being picked up and my tracking info will be sent to me.

There were no "delays", S9's purchased in the past couple of weeks have been subject to shipping times starting from the 20th Feb, as per the announcement by Bitmain on this site and on bitmains web page where you placed the order. The next batch which is currently for sale has shipping dates starting the 1st March.

So if you get it before the date that you agreed for it to be sent (20th Feb or March 1st) then thats pretty cool and lucky and nice of bitmain to minimise the delays which make turning a profit from mining more and more difficult.

Dear Bitcoiners,

We are launching two new batches of the Antminer S9 today with shipping starting from 20 February 2017.

These two batches can deliver a hashrate of 13TH/s and 13.5TH/s, respectively.

They will be available at this link after 2300 hours (Beijing time, GMT+8) today (24 January 2017).

We advise all to confirm their order while stock lasts.

Please reach out to us at support.bitmain.com for any queries.

Happy mining and a happy Chinese New Year Smiley,

The Bitmain team

Is that what the "under arrangement" email I got mean (never ordered from Bitmain before)?  Historically how long from this -> actual shipping?

Is it too late to clarify that I was being sarcastic?

There's no way that buying an S9 at this stage makes any sense. At least not to me.

But when has reason ever factored into purchasing mining hardware Wink

The best bet would be just to buy btc Wink. No fuss no mess just watch it grow;).  nothing against Avalon. They produce a superior product.  But by all means if ya need your fix then get ya a couple

Between the order-now, delivery March 1 and very minor price between the 14THs s9 or 2x Avalon 721's + the matter of my R4b6 w/1 dead board -- I gotta gladly pass.

Exactly 2 Avalons are better buy if you can get reasonably cheap electricity. T9 might be better and more reliable though.  Also those 2 new chanises companies with miners can be intresting.

Looks like another couple of S9 batches are available. One is already sold out.

Better buy up this last batch fast. Last chance to do your part to drive the next difficulty over 13% Wink

Well as Phil stated ask for a refund because I've been following this site for quite some time. You are indeed throwing money away. Good luck. http://www.bitcoinforecast.com  Keep an eye on this site for a week and let me know what ya all think;)

I have some more charts I'll share tomorrow   Worth a look!

I think this is rather about the amount to produce, gauging interest.

I don't know, they don't need to gauge interest these days because they sell out every batch.

I am amazed at how many people still venture into mining when at best it is marginal. Really there are only very few scenarios when this makes sense for home miners. Maybe I am missing something here?

yes  you are missing people with cheap power  not lots  but 5 k watts to 15 kwatts   which is say 4 to 11 s9s

or 50th to  140th

50 th at 3 cent power = 700 usd a month after costs

140th at 3 cent power = 2100 usd a month

4 s9s = 5,600
11 s9s = 15,400

what  legal business    generates that income for that investment.

Many people can access smaller power amounts.

My house uses gas heat  for every 5 dollars spent on power to mine  I save 1 dollar in gas heat....  so from Oct 1 to April 1 I get a 20% break  on power.

WHAT KILLS the small guy  with a good power deal is gear that breaks.

You are also missing those of us have their miners hosted by others in areas of the country that have low power costs.
I used to mine out of my house, then office, then locally offsite, now in another state.  Some of us are crazier than others.  But all in all it's been both fun and profitable to be part of the revolution.  Which still continues to surprise.

I'm pretty pleased with the service of Bitmain Warranty in Denver, CO.  Smiley
Even though the board they repaired for me didn't work properly after all (it keeps dropping to zero hash rate and shows a row of x's),
they handled fixing the situation very well.
They will send me a working hash board in exchange after I have sent (I just actually came back from the post office) the faulty board back for them.

I can definitely recommend them for fixing your miner.

And thank you Phil and the others who have shared previous experience with them.

They seem very slow to me, they have my S9 board since 18th Jan and still waiting for a quote
