I did not know these latest S9s on the Bitmain site had a 180 day warranty...did I read this right?

1. A 180-day warranty is provided starting from the shipping date.
You read that right!  In fact, all miners sold since OCT 2016 have the 180day warranty - it's hiding somewhere on their site...

Haha!  That's what I get for not buying S9s any more! Grin

Evil beware: We have waffles!
Anybody knows where can I buy replacement fans? Bitmain page is sold until after Chinese New year.
For one, check Bitmain Warranty in CO. http://bitmainwarranty.com/ They carry them and being the USA they are open right now.

If you used Bitmains backup/restore functions in the GUI they only backup/restore your current settings and pool info. It does NOT make a backup of the firmware.

Which brings us to resetting the miner. That only resets settings including pool info back to Factory mode -- it does not restore the as-shipped firmware. AFAIK anytime you flash the firmware the previous version is gone for good.

The latest firmware is awful.

I agree, flashed back to the old. Which one is working best for people???

-----------------:
I'm responding to cause your post stated you flashed back hope you can help 😭

Hi question on that flashing back.   Got an R4, the firmware it came with allowed me to adjust the fan speed but not the freq, then I upgraded it to the newest ver that has auto adj freq and no fan adj.   so I tried to flash it back to the original  as i backed up and saved the original firmware and tried to reflash to that one . when finished it tells me "Tue Nov 29 06:13:18 EST 2016" .  and there's no fan adj.  tried to reset back to original setting with holding the reset button in for 15 sec it's  next to the ethernet connector and still nothing.. any ideas? or is there someplace I can download the firmwares for antminers?

Currently working with 7 R4's  and 5 S9's.   heating the house to 81 degrees all day  lol   and it's 30 out 😀

Thanks so much in advance

Basically you have tied up your money for at least 4 weeks while you cannot hash.

Fixed.

Yup, totally aware...

I never "play" or "invest" (whatever you want to call it) with money I'm not willing to tie-up / lose.

Same here.  Order has been confirmed / marked as PAID on Bitmain side.

Fingers crossed they get them shipped ASAP!

Depends whether you think shipping in a months time is ASAP enough for you.

You did read the announcement, and the part of the page where you ordered that says "Shipping starts 20 February on a first-order-first-ship basis." right?

what if BTC get up to 1500$ before 20Feb

Then we lose out on this purchase ;-)

FWIW: I received the "BITMAIN Order Paid" email about 5h after receiving the "BITMAIN Order Details". Looks like the 13.5TH miners are sold out now. 13TH miners are still available.

Hello fellow miners.  Just got into mining myself recently and took the dive on my first S9 today.  I placed the order, received the email from Bitmain, sent my BTC to the address they specified, but my order is still showing as "unpaid" with 0 BTC confirmed.

Could this be due to the Chinese New Year?  What has your experience been with Bitmain in this regards?  FYI, I did submit a sales tickets already, but auto-gen email said they are closed until Feb 1 - so I'm asking "the pros" here.

Thanks for the info!

Also just pulled the trigger on an 13.5TH miner... and hoping for the best!

Bitmains ordering system sucks.  It needs to update to reflect the status even if all the confirmations are not there yet.  The process of timing out and leaving you to wonder what happened really is not a good customer experience.  They need to update this order processing to provide some feedback besides letting the order time out.

Sorry, may have confused you a little bit there...

My BTC transaction has been processed/confirmed by the blockchain - I meant on the Bitmain side.  Their process says:

- Your order may expire if Bitmain does not receive payment within one hour. If your payment is submitted on time but receipt is delayed, we will confirm the payment and then update the order to "Valid".

AND

- As soon as your payment is received in full you will receive email confirmation with order delivery details.

Neither of those 2 things has happened at this point, so just curious about others experiences with the Bitmain ordering process.  Hope that makes sense!  Thanks!

Give it some time....24hrs.  It may even say expired....give it time.
I'll second this.  When I bought an R4 from the recent batch, it worked the way I expected. (once my BTC transfer was confirmed, I got the email, etc..).  This time I have nothing, although the payment shows confirmed on my end.  I suspect the holiday is causing different behavior this time.  Only time will tell.

Electrical engineer. Mining since 2014.
There is sometimes a little latency but if you did everything correctly it should get in to the "Paid" status soon.
